Misha Barton will play a dominatrix in a Bebe ad campaign.

“The O.C.” star Mischa Barton is set to shock fans by playing a sullen dominatrix in a new ad campaign for fashion house Bebe. The pretty actress will be seen on billboards across America wearing Bebe outfits, posing alongside scantily-clad manservants.

In one quirky photo, taken by top snapper Steven Klein, Barton digs her high heel stilettos into a male model’s bare back, while, in another, a hunk wearing nothing but a pair of bikini briefs kneels obediently beside her as she strikes a fierce pose behind a veil.

It’s difficult to imagine Barton as a dominatrix, since she hardly ever wears black, let alone leather.

Update: Miu von Furstenberg has four photos from the Bebe campaign. I must say, I’m underwhelmed. Indeed, the men Barton is ostensibly dominating don’t appear either dominated or turned on. Or, hell, aware of her presence. The shot described above, with Barton’s heel on her subject, is the most provocative:

As you can see, that’s not saying much. I’m not sure why this is going to sell clothing or even generate buzz once people get past searching for images of Misha Barton in dominatrix gear and are sadly disappointed. She’s a lovely girl but hardly exudes power or sexuality in these photos.
