The Devil Doesn’t Like The Movie
These rumors about Vogue editor in chief Anna Wintour being so displeased with The Devil Wears Prada has to be the stupidest thing I’ve ever heard. I love the fashion world, as you can tell with my various fashion posts, but I think they need to get over themselves a bit. Did you know the the book the movie was based on was a number one bestseller despite zero coverage on Conde Nast publications?
I’ve read the book, it’s satire, it’s funny, it’s not even that offensive. I’m told the movie is even softer than the book. More forgiving.
There’s a line from the book when Runway worker say she’s contemplating “calling in fat to work.” She couldn’t fit into any of her clothes! That’s hilarious, and just plain funny. Vogue, get over yourself.
And here is the beautiful, beautiful, Anne Hathaway.

I think Hathaway, while pretty enough, killed the film. Based on only the trailers, she stank up the room. She’d better get a lot of “fairy princess” roles while she’s still young enough. She has credibility among 8-y/os…
