Heath Ledger to Star as Joker in Batman Begins Sequel

Kellvin Chavez of LatinoReview reports that Heath Ledger will play The Joker in the Batman Returns sequel.

Photo Heath Ledger to Star as Joker in Batman Begins Sequel For months, gossip has been circulating who would play The Joker in the next Batman Begins sequel. It’s definite that the next sequel will concentrate on The Joker and they’re already throwing names around such as Steve Buscemi – Robin Williams – Lachy Hulme -Alexis Denisof – and Mark Hamill.

We were first to tell the world that Brandon Routh was going to be the new Superman. Now here we are at it again as we just got word from A VERY TRUSTED SOURCE that the offer last night was officially made to Heath Ledger to star as The Joker in the Batman Begins Sequel!

I would certainly prefer either Steve Buscemi or Robin Williams, both of whom are superb actors and have the maturity to play the part, over Heath Ledger. Mark Hamil just seems too clean cut for the role and , frankly, I don’t know who Hulme or Denisof are.

I’ll likely still watch the movie, though, so long as it doesn’t feature the Joker as a gay cowboy eating pudding.

Couldn’t this decision also have been based on the fact that this is set years earlier, and he has to grow up to be Jack Nicholson?

No you have obviously not been paying attention to anything since batman begins came out. This is a new series; it does not relate back to the first four in any way. If you haven’t read this somewhere then just use common sense: Nicholson’s Joker killed Bruce’s parents in the original and became the Joker in that movie, so how could you expect heath ledger playing a man who obviously didn’t kill bruce’s parents (that was joe chill who died in begins) and who will become the Joker in this coming sequel to grow up to be Jack Nicholson’s character from the original?
