Boogie On, Jake!

New York’s colorful pop act Scissor Sisters celebrated the British debut of their second album ‘Ta-Dah’ last week with a daytime concert in London’s Trafalgar Square. Though it will be tough to outdo that appearance, in which they painted the city red and nearly shut it down, the Sisters will do their best when they hit prime-time screens on ‘Dancing With the Stars’ for the record’s U.S. release Tuesday.

“I was totally excited that they asked us,” Sisters frontman Jake Shears tells AOL Music. “Even though it’s a super-mainstream thing to do, we can still be ourselves on it. I’m overjoyed.”

The band will be performing ‘Ta-Dah’s’ first single, ‘I Don’t Feel Like Dancing’ — co-authored by Sir Elton John — on the show. “We started writing with him over a year ago in Vegas on the stage at Caesar’s Palace, which was really cool,” Shears says. “[Then] in the middle of last winter, he stopped by to visit [guitarist] Babydaddy and me. We just wrote it right there. We hadn’t even planned to write anything.”

One thing Shears is planning is to get a little closer to ‘Dancing With the Stars’ celeb and former ‘Saved By the Bell’ hunk Mario Lopez.

“He’s really hot,” Shears says. “Maybe he’ll let me touch his butt.” He would, of course, ask first: “I would not do the Dom DeLuise [thing] and just squeeze and grab.” source
