Ok… for all you men out there, here’s the Halloween you really want to see!
The usually stately Playboy Mansion was mutated into a macabre lightning-lit, fog-drenched house of horrors for Hef’s all-out annual Halloween party. With gargoyles looming overhead, stars like Leonardo DiCaprio, Owen Wilson, Yankee Gary Sheffield, Paris and Nicky Hilton, Garry Shandling and Desperate Housewives’ Shawn Pyfrom arrived in the driveway graveyard and made their way through the haunted manse. Inside the party, Horny Devil Hef sat in front of the dance floor and held court with his girlfriends Holly (as Tinkerbell), Bridget (as Medusa) and Kendra (as a pimp).
At the witching hour, rappers Too Short and Lil Jon amped up the party with a crazy set. The show drowned out the screams from a 16-room haunted house, where partygoers worked their way through body bags to escape demonic clowns and chainsaw-wielding killers. If the monsters didn’t raise your heart rate, the scantily clad Playmates and painted ladies did the trick. Either way you sliced it, Hef’s annual party got the blood pumping. source: ONTD

Bob Barker is heading toward his last showcase, his final “Come on down.” The silver-haired daytime-TV icon is retiring in June, he told The Associated Press Tuesday. It’s amazing he hasn’t retired sooner… I’m sure there are a couple generations that will miss seeing him on the air.
“I will be 83 years old on December 12,” he said, “and I’ve decided to retire while I’m still young.”
He’ll hang up his microphone after 35 years as the host of “The Price Is Right” and 50 years overall in television.
Though he has been considering retirement for “at least 10 years,” Barker said he has so much fun doing the show that he hasn’t been able to leave.
“I’ve gone on and on and on to this ancient age because I’ve enjoyed it,” he said. “I’ve thoroughly enjoyed it and I’m going to miss it.”
Reaching dual milestones, 50 years on television and 35 with “Price,” made this an “appropriate” time to retire, Barker said. Besides, hosting the daily CBS program - in which contestants chosen from the crowd “come on down” to compete for “showcases” that include trips, appliances and new cars - is “demanding physically and mentally,” he said.
“I’m just reaching the age where the constant effort to be there and do the show physically is a lot for me,” he said. “I might be able to do the show another year, but better (to leave) a year too soon than a year too late.”
Leslie Moonves, president and CEO of CBS Corporation, said Barker has left an enduring mark on the network, calling his contribution and loyalty “immeasurable.” source
Brad Pitt joined forces in Western India with former President Jimmy Carter and his wife Rosalynn as part of a Habitat for Humanity program. It’s amazing how he finds the time.
On Monday, Pitt dropped by the town of Lonavala to join the Carters and volunteers to help build a new house for Aziz and Sadhiya Sheikh, according to the Habitat Web site.
Pitt laid cement blocks that will help finish the outside of the house. Photos taken at the site show a gloved Pitt in a white shirt, dark jeans, goggles and a baseball cap adjusting a window grill. Another shows him cementing bricks into place.
Pitt is in India with Angelina Jolie filming A Mighty Heart, about American journalist Daniel Pearl who was kidnapped and murdered in Pakistan in 2002.
Also helping out the Carters – who every year since 1984 have spent a week building a home for Habitat – were former Miss World and Miss India Diana Hayden and Australian cricket player Steve Waugh.
“We’ve realized that people across the globe have the same basic needs, dreams and aspirations,” Carter, 82, said at a press conference at the work site. “Habitat’s program depends on finding families who cannot otherwise afford housing.”
In all, Pitt worked under the hot sun and talked to fellow volunteers for about half an hour, according to local news reports. source
Oprah Winfrey has famously given members of her audience new cars, paid off their debts and fulfilled their wildest dreams. Now she’s given them what she calls the “gift of giving back.” Pfft! I’m sure… “here’s a 1,000 bucks… now kiss it goodbye”, [heh]
On a show that aired Monday, Winfrey gave more than 300 audience members $1,000 debit cards sponsored by the Bank of America to donate to a charitable cause.
Winfrey called the show her “favorite giveaway ever.”
“I can honestly say that every gift I’ve ever given has brought at least as much happiness to me as it has to the person I’ve given it to,” the 52-year-old talk-show host said. “That’s the feeling I want to pass on to you.”
People can give the entire sum to one person - relatives aren’t eligible - or they can split it among charitable causes. Audience members also received a DVD recorder to tape their stories for a future show.
“You’re going to open your hearts, you’re going to be really creative, and you’re going to spend it all at once on one stranger or spend a dollar on every person,” Winfrey said. “Imagine the love and kindness you can spread with $1,000.” source

Anna Nicole Smith may possibly be deported from the Bahamas for lying to the government to gain citizenship, and she’s probably going to exhume Daniel and take him with her…wherever she may go. That’s sort of twisted, isn’t it?
 If Anna Nicole Smith is forced to leave the Bahamas, will she take her late son with her? On October, 19, the 38-year-old former model buried her son, Daniel, in the Bahamas, where she was hoping to live permanently (allegedly to avoid a U.S. paternity test on her newborn daughter Dannielynn).
However, now that Smith’s elligibility for residency is being challenged, a source tells MSNBC’s The Scoop that Smith may have his body exhumed and taken with her when she returns to the United States.

Last week, Hubert Ingraham, head of the main opposition Free National Movement and a former prime minister, pronounced the TrimSpa spokeswoman unfit to live on the islands after learning that another person owns the waterfront mansion that Smith claimed was hers in an application for permanent residency.
“Clearly, Anna Nicole Smith is not a fit and proper person to become a permanent resident of the Bahamas,” said Ingraham. “Her general character and reputation don’t commend her for such status.” source

Katie Holmes ran into Brooke Shields at a private party in Beverly Hills this past weekend. Even though Tom Cruise once threw judgement on Brooke for taking meds to battle depression (he has since apologized), this didn’t stop Brooke from speaking with Katie.
Not surprisingly, Suri was nowhere to be found. The poor kid rarely sees the light of day. Is Katie getting taller… cause I thought Brooke was taller than she appears.
Tell me… in the second picture below… doesn’t it look like Katie is offering Brooke’s baby, Grier, a sip of her drink? Hmmm… pushin’ the booze on the kid.

Reese Witherspoon and Ryan Phillippe split? Ok… now this one is a shocker to me. This is the last Hollywood couple that I would have expected this to happen to. I’m truly saddened. I’m absolutely certain that Paris Hilton MUST have had something to do with it. [heh]
Reese Witherspoon and Ryan Phillippe have separated after seven years of marriage, it has been confirmed.
“We are saddened to announce that Reese and Ryan have decided to formally separate,” a rep for the couple said in a statement released Monday. “They remain committed to their family and we ask that you please respect their privacy and the safety of their children at this time.” TMZ.com first reported the couple’s split.
Witherspoon, 30, and Phillippe, 32, have two children, daughter Ava, 7, and son Deacon, 3.
The couple met when a mutual friend brought Phillippe to Witherspoon’s 21st-birthday party. Two years later, after they had costarred in 1999’s Cruel Intentions, he proposed. They married in June 1999 and had Ava three months later.
Though the couple seemed to have it all – a successful relationship, thriving careers and beautiful children – they both spoke openly about having to work on their marriage.
In 2002, Phillippe told New York’s Daily News that they were in couples therapy. “The biggest mistake,” he said, “is not doing that, ignoring it and having the marriage fall apart because of laziness.”
Similarly Witherspoon stated at the time: “I’m not interested in the fallacy of the Hollywood relationship: ‘We have perfect children who never cry; we never have problems; we never argue, we’re always best friends,’” she said. “That’s just not true. We’re normal people with normal problems.” source
I guess Nicole Richie isn’t in rehab anymore to get fat. According to TMZ she apparently passed out at Hyde nightclub in Hollywood at 2 a.m.
According to witnesses, Nicole fell to the floor and an employee was about to call 911, but her friends told him not to. They carried her through the back door and promised the staff they would take her to the hospital. It was unknown why she collapsed or if she was taken to the hospital. It stands to reason, food gives you protein and nutrients… no food and drinking/drugs, makes you collapse.
Nicole’s spokesperson confirms that she was at Hyde that night, but denies that she collapsed.
In her first high-profile public appearance since her recent split from husband Bobby Brown, Whitney Houston was the belle of the ball Saturday night at a stellar benefit in Beverly Hills that raised more than $70 million for juvenile diabetes research. “I feel great,” said Houston, basking in the attention.
Whitney looked truly amazing. This writer couldn’t be happier for her; I can’t wait for her big musical comeback!
The singer, 43, was escorted to the 17th Carousel of Hope Ball by one of the evening’s honorees, her record producer Clive Davis, who told USA Today of the woman at his side: “She’s been through emotional trauma, and everybody’s rooting for her.”
Davis also told PEOPLE: “We’re going to make a killer album.”
Fellow music producer (and the event’s other honoree) Quincy Jones, who has known Houston since she was 16, said Houston seems to have turned a corner, telling USA Today, “She’s looking at the light, instead of darkness.”
Houston sat at the main table with Halle Berry – who herself is a diabetic – and the actress’s boyfriend Gabriel Aubry. Elsewhere at the gala, which was hosted by Jay Leno, were Brooke Shields, Teri Hatcher, Hilary Duff, Kristin Davis, Sharon Stone, Minnie Driver, Sidney Poitier and couple Warren Beatty and Annette Bening.
Houston did not sing at the event, but her attendance prompted the evening’s entertainer Katharine McPhee to drop her signature number, “Over the Rainbow,” in favor of Houston’s “I Have Nothing.” Houston’s acknowledged the tribute by nodding at this season’s American Idol runner-up during the performance, the newspaper reports.
“It’s her first big appearance since the breakup,” McPhee, 22, said on the arrivals carpet about Houston. “I would love to sing with her, but unfortunately all eyes are on me.”
Two weeks ago, Houston filed for divorce from Brown after 14 years of marriage. The couple had separated on Sept. 8.
In the separation papers, Houston asked for custody of the couple’s 13-year-old daughter, Bobbi Kristina, and that Brown, 37, be allowed visitation rights. source
