I believe that what she did was great. She’s got NCO of the year in the bag. I’m sure that her supervisor is proud. I can see TSgt ####### typing away at that EPR right now. Valiently exposed herself to the entire nation dropping public opinion unmeasurabley. I’m not very good with my bullets being fresh out of ALS, but hey maybe I should go pose for Playgirl and take my chances. Honestly though I’m one hundred percent behind her decision. I’ll remain behind her as she walks away from the thirteen years she just threw away, and a grateful AF that she left behind. It’s amazing to read through these posts. You can tell who never served or would have the mentality to make it past tech school, you can tell the young horny kids, and then you can tell the real men and women who have put on this uniform with pride and respect. In one post it was said that our core values are displayed only at work. Well, if that is you I suggest that you pack your damned bag and walk out with her. As far as her posing in uniform, I (being the proud ignorant bastard) consider this almost as bad as burning the American Flag. Where I’m from you just don’t do it.

I’d have to ditto what one of the comments said, but it must be added to. Manhart knew before VOLUNTEERING for the Air Force that the military can dictate some of your off-duty behavior. While stationed with Security Police at Randolph AFB, on the other side of San Antonio from Lackland, I was assigned to town patrol with SPs from Lackland. Most of our patrol was spent checking out bars and other establishments that were deemed “off limits” to military personnel. If we found a military member at one of these establishments, we quickly and quietly cuffed them and took them to Lackland for detention.

And, like the late great Lewis Grizzard said about Vanessa Williams when she lost her Miss America crown after posing nude in Penthouse: “I don’t know about y’all, but where I came from, 19 is old enough to know when to keep your britches on!”

Unfortunately, our MTV-mentality generation has heard that it’s all about rights and no responsibilities. Every civilization in history that took on this philosophy had ceased to exist within a few generations.

So, for those of you who think the Air Force was evil for enforcing its regulations regarding off-duty conduct by its personnel, who KNEW when they enlisted that they could not do just anything they wanted off-duty, I say SHUT THE HELL UP until you’ve actually served your country! By the way, Al Jazeera has already been running this, using it as evidence of the immorality and weakness of Americans, and why we deserve to be taken over by Islam. Technically, Manhart could be charged with lending aid and comfort to the enemy, because her story is being used to bolster morale of our enemies.

The army is demoting her for a decision she made involving her personal life. She has the right to pose in a magazine if she wants to. I do not see how this is disgraseful or dishonest. For a “free country,” most of America is extremely uptight and judgemental of other people’s personal choices.

Obviously all of you who think she did nothing wrong have no idea about what militaryâ��s standard of conduct. Duty, Honor, Country maybe just words to you.. but it is the way of our military! This why we have the best military in the world, hence the freedom we all enjoy. Military service is not a democratic societyâ�¦ They protect our democracy because they are under higher standard than us civiliansâ�¦ I donâ��t suppose most of you have a clue about thatâ�¦ She made a grave mistake and made a bad judgment. How do you expect the young folks she is training to respect her.. These are 18 years old young men and women. She canâ��t preach discipline and go out there and pose nude. Young trainees canâ��t be looking at her in uniform and take her seriously. This is exactly the kind of actions that makes it difficult for women who are honorably serving. She is a disgrace to our armed forces and should be dishonorably discharged.

I was in the navy and went over seas just last year. Compared to the prostitution, drinking and fighting that at least half of the salors took part in, posing nude is nothing.

Wow, the Air Force has sure changed! I didn’t have any drill instructors who looked like her. I know how uptight the military can be but the Air Force is the most tolerant of the services. The rest of the military must be upset since the Air Force will now be able to meet their recruiting goals. And by the way, our current Commander-in-Chief is the biggest embarrassment.

What Sgt. Manhart did was wrong. W R O N G. She needs to be punished. I think a good spankin would teach her, and other naughty little gals, a lesson. I will volunteer to administer the punishment. First of all, weâ��re supposed to be living in a free country. Iâ��ve learn through my years of life that people will always agree or disagree know matter what people do or say. Now letâ��s go back to the beginning, we are free, we fight for freedom, and yet we arenâ��t. All I can say is let people do what they want. If you buy the magazine, then buy it. If you donâ��t, well then donâ��t. Freedom is freedom. I was in the army for 9 years. Iâ��m out now, going to school. All I can say is I might go and buy the issue and I say let her go and use this as a fight of individual freedom. Maybe now she feels bad, maybe not. Iâ��m sure she made money and Iâ��m sure the Gov. got their cut too. I just happen to like people who can put a little jolt into the system. Hell, let everyone pose nude. As Larry The Cable guys said, â��Youâ��ve seen one set of tits, you want to see them all.â��
