Seven Osmond siblings — Alan, Wayne, Merrill, Jay, Donny, Marie and Jimmy — are scheduled to be onstage Aug. 13-14 at The Orleans Hotel Showroom, publicist Kevin Sasaki said Thursday from Los Angeles. Tickets for the live shows range from $75 to $125.The shows will be taped for “The Osmonds 50th Anniversary,” which will air next March on PBS stations.

“At first it was just a tribute to my brothers, but it came together as a celebration of everybody. It’s out of control,” Jimmy Osmond, producer of the special, said Thursday. “We started so young, you would think 50 years means we’re a bunch of old guys. We aren’t a bunch of old guys,” he said, noting that family members perform frequently before audiences young and old.

As the years pass by, one’s definition of “old” changes. Still, the Osmonds are definitely getting up there. According to Wikipedia,

The group originally comprised brothers Alan Ralph Osmond (born June 22, 1949), Melvin Wayne Osmond (known as Wayne Osmond) (born August 28, 1951), Merrill Davis Osmond (born April 30, 1953), and Jay Wesley Osmond (born March 2, 1955).

So, the oldest of the original Osmonds is about to hit 58 and the younger just turned 52. They’re not geriatric by any means. But they’re a little long in the tooth by the standards of pop music.
