Paris decided that she had to make the best of her time in jail and came up with a little motto: “don’t serve the time, let the time serve you”. That’s deep - a Paris we never knew.
On Lindsay: “I wish the best for her.” But when asked, Paris said, “I don’t have any friends in rehab.” It’s like an interview full of back-handed compliments.
When asked whether she paid attention to the news: “I just really wanted to focus on myself.”
Paris reveals the jailbird menu, which consisted of bologna sandwiches made of 2 pieces of bread, mystery meat, and mayonnaise - that’s just crazy. Two pieces of bread? I’m floored.
Paris spoke again of all the letters that she received, not one of which was critical. Those mail screeners must be pretty good.
Paris was also kind of afraid: “Just the whole idea of being in jail was really scary. … I hate being alone .. I had nightmares at night that someone would break into my cell and hurt me.” She was also scared that the news people were telling the world what street she lives on. I could see where that would be a little dicey.
She still doesn’t think she deserved the time, but she “will never drink and drive again …. Granted it was just one drink.” Now that sounds like remorse.
On the mystery illness: “I’ve suffered from claustrophobia my entire life. When I first got in that cell I suffered from panic attacks, anxiety attacks.” Only being let out one hour a day, and otherwise trapped in an 8 x 12 cell? That could cause a panic attack. To cope, Paris meditated and read the jail mail.
Paris also says she’s had ADD since she was 12.
On bad influences: “I’ve gotten rid of a lot of people.” But she won’t name names - “they know who they are.” Wow, that’s actually classy.
And Paris mostly likes herself - she’s not jealous, not quick to anger, and very easy to get along with. She doesn’t like how her voice changes when she’s nervous though.
Here’s one to believe - she’s never taken drugs. Uh-huh… And she’s not a big drinker.
On the perception of her: “People make up so many crazy stories …. It really baffles me when I read things…. Places I’ve never been, people I’ve never met.” “A lot of people don’t know that I’m a business woman. I run several businesses…. I’ve made a name on my own by myself…. I work very hard.”
On Nicole and Britney:
Nicole - “She’s like my sister. I love her so much and I don’t want anything bad to happen to her.”
Britney - “She’s a sweet girl. She’s a good mom. She loves her children.” Paris explained that some girls are given too much too soon - she just handled it well. “I’m just really lucky that I have my parents who love and support me so much.”
On the strip search: “The most humiliating experience of my life. I’ve never had to do that…. It’s pretty gross taking your clothes off in front of someone…”
Had she known, she never would have had the “audacity” to drive on a suspended license.
Message to drunk drivers: “That’s something I was actually thinking a lot about in jail. I want to help raise money for kids and for breast cancer, multiple sclerosis…” So it’s not really drunk drivers, but she’s going to do good, dammit!
Favorite Bible passage: “I don’t have a favorite.” But she read it everyday. Come on, you couldn’t think of one passage you like? It would make the fact that you read it more believable.
The final message: “I’ve definitely matured and grown a lot from this experience. I’m 26 years old. I’m an adult. I have to just grow up… I want to be a good role model for these girls.”
The End. Please note: these may not be exact quotes - I was typing pretty fast. But this is the gist of it.
