If she's not in the media, she feels invisible. Now that Paris has done time and received "fan mail", Lindsay feels the need to "one up" Paris. Unfortunately for Lindsay, she has been caught with an illegal drug on her person and in her system. When she goes to jail, it won't be for 23 days. Also, the more trouble she makes for herself--the less likely she'll be "employable". At the end of the day, Paris is still heiress. Lindsay is still just a working stiff.
