Angelina Jolie In Iraq

Angelina Jolie continues her practicing of good deeds in Syria and Iraq this week. The UN Goodwill Ambassador is visiting the war-torn nations to raise awareness of the ongoing humanitarian crisis experienced by the refugees and others.

Angelina spent time with Iraqi refugees in Damascus yesterday. She said,

“I have come to Syria and Iraq to help draw attention to this humanitarian crisis and to urge governments to increase their support for UNHCR [The United Nations Refugee Agency] and its partners. My sole purpose in both countries is to highlight the humanitarian plight of those uprooted by the war in Iraq.

“It is absolutely essential that the ongoing debate about Iraq’s future includes plans for addressing the enormous humanitarian consequences these people face.”

Angelina is also visiting with U.S. troops during her travels. It’s almost impossible not to love this woman.
