Lindsay Lohan Pleads No Contest - Should Get 4 Days

This morning at the Beverly Hills Courthouse, the L.A. County District Attorney filed criminal charges against Lindsay Lohan - seven misdemeanors and no felonies. Because Lindsay’s cocaine traces “were below the .05 grams required by office policy for felony filing”, only misdemeanors were filed.
Shortly after the charges were filed, Lindsay struck a deal with the DA. She pled no contest to two counts of DUI and possibly a controlled substance charge. Since she is a second offender (with the two separate DUI offenses), she must serve a minimum of 4 days in jail by law. The judge cut that 4 days in half at the end of the hearing and gave her credit for one day in jail for time served. She must serve the remaining 24 hours by January 18.
Lindsay must also perform 10 days of community service and was ordered “not to associate with people with controlled substances.” That right there cuts out like half of Hollywood.
Lindsay is one lucky ass, all things considered, but hopefully this inspires her to get her act together. She recently released a statement:
“It is clear to me that my life has become completely unmanageable because I am addicted to alcohol and drugs.
Recently, I relapsed and did things for which I am ashamed. I broke the law, and today I took responsibility by pleading guilty to the charges in my case. No matter what I said when I was under the influence on the day I was arrested, I am not blaming anyone else for my conduct other than myself. I thank God I did not injure others. I easily could have.
I very much want to be healthy and gain control of my life and career and have asked for medical help in doing so. I am taking these steps to improve my life. Luckily, I am not alone in my daily struggle and I know that people like me have succeeded. Maybe with time it will become easier. I hope so.”
What others are saying:
- Best Week Ever says, “Hear that, kids? You shouldn’t do drugs, but if you do do drugs, do all of them, and do them quickly, lest you find yourself possessing enough undone drugs for the fuzz to prove that you’ve been doing drugs when they arrest you for reckless drunk driving, which you were only doing because of all the drugs you did.”
- dlisted says, “The Judge also ordered that she should “not to associate with people with controlled substances.” Kiss White Oprah goodbye now Blohan! Oh and kiss L.A. goodbye too. Oh and does looking in the mirror count as “associating with people with controlled substances?”"
- The Superficial says, “It really says a lot when the law enforcement community agrees that Dina Lohan’s parenting causes crime. Soon we’ll find out that police officers have the right to use deadly force if they spot her within 100 yards of a school. Of course legend has it she can only be killed when her youngest son Cody forgets her morning gin and tonic. That, my friends, is when we’ll strike. Then, and only then, will the fire-crotched lass truly be free.”
