Fall TV Preview: ‘Chuck’ and ‘Heroes’
There all kinds of shows premiering tonight, so we can only go over two in detail. And the two with the most buzz appear to be the new series ‘Chuck’ and the return of ‘Heroes’.

The premise of ‘Chuck’ reads, “A computer nerd is drawn into shadowy global espionage when subliminal government secrets are downloaded into his brain.” So it’s supposed to be a little James Bond-like, but funny. The lead man is Zachary Levi, who has previously starred in “Less Than Perfect”.
The reviews are good so far. From IMDB:
“Plot: A computer nerd accidentally has thousands of government secrets downloaded into his head when he opens a mysterious email from his former college roommate. Chuck is a timid, yet lovable character who works for the ‘Nerd Herd’ (parody of the ‘Geek Squad’ from Best Buy). He lives with his sister, who is trying to get him to go out more often. Chuck doesn’t realize he has government secrets locked in his memory, but he suspects he is being pursued. He soon discovers what he knows when he is contacted by the CIA and NSA. They must now keep him safe while they find out what he really knows.
What I liked: There was great character development right from the start. The relationships aren’t too forced or cliché. The photography is up to the caliber of a major motion picture, filled with lots of great action sequences. The dialogue between Chuck and his best friend/co-worker is outright hilarious. The music was fitting… they even ended with a song from indie synth-Pop darling ‘Joy Electric’.
What I disliked: To be honest, there wasn’t much that I didn’t like about this show.”
Series Premiere Tonight at 8 pm EST/7 pm CST on NBC

‘Heroes’ is also back for its second season, and fans can’t wait. The show is about ordinary people, from all over the world, who gain superpowers, including a young dreamer who believes he can fly, a high-school cheerleader who’s indestructible and a heroin-addicted artist who can paint the future.
Last season ended with Peter, Nathan, Claire, Hiro, Ando, Mr. Bennett, Parkman and Mohinder banning together to stop Sylar from blowing up New York City, though the fates of Peter, Nathan and Sylar remain up in the air. In the season two premiere, someone will die, and new heroes will be introduced.
Season Two Premiere Tonight at 9 pm EST/8 pm CST on NBC
