Kathy Griffin’s Emmy Acceptance Speech

Kathy Griffin’s Emmy Acceptance Speech - PIC

Congratulations to Kathy Griffin on her Emmy win over the weekend for her show “My Life On The D-List”! When they air the speech, though, it’s probably going to get censored.

The acceptance speech went a little like this:

quote-pic“A lot of people come up here and thank Jesus for this award. I want you to know that no one had less to do with this award than Jesus.

“This award is my god now!”

The Catholic League is complaining, calling the speech “vulgar, in-your-face brand of hate speech,” so E! is planning to edit.

Personally, I thought it was hilarious.

Contraversy, nowadays almost equals instant relevance in Hollywood, however, whether you think her comment was hilarious or not, she’s still on the D-list, and for good reason. By the way, I wonder if it would have been so hilarious if she said something just as irreverant concerning Islam or gays…hmm, something to think about. However, I have a feeling I won’t get a straight answer on that.
