Simon Cowell Saves Contestant’s Life - PIC

While “American Idol” is in the off season, Simon Cowell is keeping busy by judging the British show “The X Factor”. And it looks like he’s doing a little more than just telling people whether or not they can sing well - he’s also saving lives.

When Jacqui Gray sang for the usually harsh talent scout, Simon said,”It sounds as if you have someone else in there, like you were choking on something.” He then told her to go to the doctor.

When Jacqui did, she was diagnosed with the potentially fatal lung disease bronchiectasis and told that she could have died if she had not sought medical assistance. Jacqui thanked Simon and co-host Sharon Osbourne:

“I want to thank them both. I may not have got through X Factor but they gave me something much more important than that - they really did save my life. I was diagnosed with bronchiectasis and told if I had not got it seen to, it could have killed me.”
