Dog the Bounty Hunter is a Racist?
Duane ‘Dog’ Chapman is embroiled in an ugly racial scandal.

On Wednesday, an audio recording of the Bounty Hunter star surfaced. In that recording, Chapman can be heard saying the N-word over and over and telling his son not to date a girl that is of color.
The National Enquirer reports,
In a shocking world exclusive The ENQUIRER has obtained tapes of two revolting phone conversations in which Duane “Dog” Chapman unleashes a filthy bigoted attack, littered with the N-word and other disgusting racial insults.
The star of the A&E reality show Dog, The Bounty Hunter directed his racist hatred at his son Tucker’s girlfriend Monique Shinnery, who is black.
I know, I know… it’s the National Enquirer. However, A&E has already taken action, so there must be some truth to this.
TMZ reports that A&E released the following statement,
“A&E has just learned of the story released by the National Enquirer concerning Duane Dog Chapman. We take this matter very seriously. Pending an investigation, we have suspended production on the series. When the inquiry is concluded we will take appropriate action.”
The Dog has already responded and issued the following statement to People Magazine,
“My sincerest, heartfelt apologies go out to every person I have offended for my regrettable use of very inappropriate language. I am deeply disappointed in myself for speaking out of anger to my son and using such a hateful term in a private phone conversation. It was completely taken out of context. I was disappointed in his choice of a friend, not due to her race, but her character. However, I should have never used that term. I have the utmost respect and aloha for black people – who have already suffered so much due to racial discrimination and acts of hatred. I did not mean to add yet another slap in the face to an entire race of people who have brought so many gifts to this world. I am ashamed of myself and I pledge to do whatever I can to repair this damage I have caused.
In Hawaii, we have something called Ho’oponopono, where people come together to resolve crises and restore peace and balance. I am meeting with my spiritual advisor, Rev. Tim Storey, and hope to meet with other black leaders so they can see who I really am and teach me the right thing to do to make things right, again.
I know that all of my fans are deeply disappointed in me, as well, as I have tried to be a model for doing the right thing. I did not do the right thing this time, and hope you will forgive me. We learn from our mistakes, as my story of overcoming a life of crime has proven, and I will learn from this one for the rest of my life.”

I think his words are being taken out of context. He just wasnt expressing what he was trying to say correctly. Being a black woman myself, I think he was addressing the issue that since his family uses certain words around each other he doesnt want anyone around who would be offended by them. If his son is dating someone who may be offended then its best they arent around him and the family because he doesnt want their words being misconstrued. Now, Im not saying its right, but I see his point. A simple slip up can cost him everything. He wanted to protect his career. But by saying that to the son, who may love the girl, it may have caused hurt feelings. The son may have took it like, its either her or your family.
