“Happy-slapping” is when an unsuspecting target is attacked while an accomplice records the incident on a camera or smart phone.
Everyone is shocked that Emily, a church choir singer and a girl who was thought to be a good role model, has participated in this bullying. Emily even tells her victim that she is going to rip out her hair, saying “If it rips out I’m gonna get blood on my clothes.”
Due to the disappointment, Emily’s mother has forced her to quit the competitioin. She said,
“As a family we are heartbroken and very disappointed with Emily’s behavior, we feel that there is no choice but to withdraw Emily from the competition.”
