Brandy Clear of Manslaughter, Former Yankee Charged With Vehicular Homicide

Remind me to stay clear of celebs behind the wheel. Seriously, stupid celebs should be banned from operating anything more complex an Etch-a-Sketch.

Former hip-hop starlet Brandy escaped charges of vehicular manslaughter for her December 2006 freeway car wreck. The accident took the life of Awatif Aboudihaj. She was not under the influence of any kind of drug or medication at the time. The victim’s parents filed a $50 million lawsuit against Brandy for reckless driving. According to TMZ, California Highway Patrol confirmed that Aboudihaj actually hit the car in front of hers and slammed on her breaks before Brandy made any contact with her. Brandy walked away free and clear on the account of “insufficient evidence.” Her publicist says she feels super bad for the family that lost their 38 year old wife and mother.

Meanwhile, former Yankees player, Jim Leyritz crashed in Florida around 3:30 this morning. Leyritz was “under the influence” at the time of accident. The driver of the vehicle was ejected from the car and died. He was arrested on the spot and charged with driving under the influence and vehicular homicide.

What he hell is wrong with people? Hire a damn driver to take your drunken cracked out ass to the local mini mart for Paul Malls and Mr. Pibb.

One of my younger brother’s jobs while in college was driving then-Redskin quarterback Sonny Juergenson around. Sonny had had a few too many DUIs to be trusted behind the wheel, so he got smart and hired a driver.
