Akon Lied About Shady Past

Akon lied about having a lengthy rap sheet to seem more appealing… how strange.

The singer, known for his songs ‘Locked Up’ and for hurling a fan off of a stage, may have built a rep as a Konvict with a long criminal history, but a new report from The Smoking Gun shows that Akon ain’t the bad boy he portrays himself to be.

- While the performer’s rap sheet does include a half-dozen arrests, Akon has only been convicted of one felony, for gun possession (the charge was later dropped).

- There was no prison term between 1999 and 2002. And he was never “facing 75 years,” as the singer claimed in one videotaped interview.
