Akon Lied About Shady Past
Akon lied about having a lengthy rap sheet to seem more appealing… how strange.
The singer, known for his songs ‘Locked Up’ and for hurling a fan off of a stage, may have built a rep as a Konvict with a long criminal history, but a new report from The Smoking Gun shows that Akon ain’t the bad boy he portrays himself to be.
- While the performer’s rap sheet does include a half-dozen arrests, Akon has only been convicted of one felony, for gun possession (the charge was later dropped).
- There was no prison term between 1999 and 2002. And he was never “facing 75 years,†as the singer claimed in one videotaped interview.
I’m sure the lies were put out there so he would be accepted within the rap community?
