However, my grandfather played in The Negro League. My first cousin was a Harlem Globetrotter [he made me shoot from the free throw line in 4" heels at a banquet] and my father was a football/track & field star. I ran like Devin Hester. I lived for soccer in the winter [then only considered an indoor sport]. I'm 59. There wasn't a "GIRL'S" track, basketball, softball or swim team even though our school had an Olympic-sized pool. I also loved to swim. I know more about sports than many men. It really sucks that people can't believe women know anything about sports and if we don't look like trolls--we aren't taken seriously! And lastly, my cousin gave parties every summer wherein I met the biggest star athletes in hockey, football, basketball and baseball. I was an adult not a minor. When I spoke to these guys and gushed--they knew it was because I loved what they did. There was never any sexual connections. For years, they'd ask him, "how's your little [I'm 5'4"] cousin doing?"
