A DJ in New Jersey is selling his DJ company with the most famous telephone number in history, 867-5309. The auction is on eBay and the bidding is up to a whopping $400,100.00!

The DJ selling the company and the phone number, Spencer Potter, says, “This is really, in my opinion, one of the last cultural remnants of the ’80s pop culture era … other than the mullet.”

He says that the phone number receives 10,000 phone calls a year and callers are singing the signature tune or are looking for the infamous “Jenny”.

Potter said that he’d met his own Jenny from the phone number after figuring out that a girl with the same name was giving it to guys at bars as a bum phone number. She called in curious as to who was on the other end of the phone number that she was passing out. He said that it turned out to be a good friendship, after dating for some time.

When talking to CNN, Potter said that he hoped the auction would reach at least $40,000 so that he could take a Caribbean vacation away from the ringing phone.
