Unshocking News Of The Day : Lady GaGa Is A Copycat

I like Lady GaGa but I hate the majority of her crazy fans because they never shut up about how original she is and how groundbreaking she is. I like to remind them that she is just in fact just another popstar making good music and recycling old ideas.

Unshocking News Of The Day : Lady GaGa Is A Copycat

On the left is Tiffany Randol, with her former band Valeze, and on the right is a shot of Lady GaGa in her new video for Telephone, which was supposed to premiere today but has yet again been pushed back this time to Thursday.

Notice any similarities? They are both wearing caution tape around their bodies, oh no the shock and horror, who’d have thought a popstar would ever recycle another persons wardrobe.

I don’t even care about any of this – it doesn’t bother me that people copy other artists ideas but it does annoy me when fans claim that everything they do is original. Since I don’t care, you may be wondering why I’m even making you read about Lady GaGa copying someone else, truth be told I’m sick of hearing about the Oscars for today.

That’s interesting. I know that she’s copied other artists like David Bowie (who she idolizes). Ironically, some singers are now trying to copy her. As for the caution tape, I’ve seen it done MANY times before, so that’s no surprise. But I don’t think anyone has thought of wearing a telephone on their head. I think Gaga should get a few points for that. :)

Highly, if not solely responsible for the Caution Tape craze is a magazine called IndustrialnatioN which was a large influence on the underground music culture.take a look: http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?pid=1573169&id=72280812995
neither of these ladies are copying, but rather taking influence from an entire culture which exsisted before them ! :)
