Tony Hawk Files for Divorce From Third Wife

Skateboarding legend Tony Hawk is ending his 5-year marriage to third wife Lhotse Merriam, PEOPLE reports.

Hawk filed for divorce in North San Diego County, Calif., on Friday.

The couple, who have one daughter together, 3-year-old Kadence Clover Hawk, issued a joint statement regarding their decision.

“We remain deeply committed and loving parents to our daughter, and out of respect for that responsibility we ask that people honor our family’s privacy during this important time of transition.”

Hawk, who has three sons from two previous marriages, wed Merriam in Tavarua, Fiji, in 2006.

Merriam, a former lingerie store owner, lent her voice to Hawk’s ‘American Wasteland’ video game and appeared in two episodes of ‘Bam’s Unholy Union’ opposite her soon-to-be ex-husband.
