Katherine Jackson filed a petition Monday asking the court to appoint her as guardian of Michael Jackson’s three children.
According to TMZ, the petition states the kids have “no relationship with their biological mother,” Debbie Rowe.
She is also petitioning to take over the children’s estate. Its value is listed as “unknown” in the filing.
The filings do not state whether Michael left a will.
A hearing has been set for Aug 3.
Michael has two children with ex Rowe –Prince, 12, and Paris, 11. His third child, Prince Michael II, 7, was born to a surrogate (the mother’s identity was never revealed). The court filings Monday list her whereabouts as “unknown.”
 The estranged daughter of Billy Bob Thornton has been indicted on several charges in the death of a 1-year-old girl she was baby sitting in central Florida.
Amanda Brumfield, 29, was booked at the Orange County Jail on Wednesday. She faces charges of first-degree murder, aggravated child abuse and aggravated manslaughter of a child.
Court records show she told investigators the infant who died in her care in October acted normally and ate bananas after she fell from a playpen and hit her head. But detectives believe Brumfield’s story is inconsistent with the girl’s injuries.
The child was her goddaughter.
An autopsy completed in March concluded that the short fall, estimated at about 28 inches in height, could not have caused the skull fracture and brain bleed that lead to the child’s death.
It was not immediately clear whether Brumfield had an attorney. A telephone message left at the jail was not returned Thursday morning.
Thornton’s publicist has said the actor hasn’t spoken to Brumfield for a number of years.
Prosecutors have not released what they think happened or given a motive.

Marking the first public statement since her daughter Chastity Bono — now Chaz Bono — announced that she was undergoing a sex change, Cher is coming out to lend words of support for her daughter.
Cher says that Chaz is going through “a difficult journey, but one that I will support,” and says that she respects “the courage it takes to go through this transition in the glare of public scrutiny, and although I may not understand, I will strive to be understanding,” in a statement to UsMagazine.com.
Cher continued with kind words for her daughter, saying that her support is infinite.
“The one thing that will never change is my abiding love for my child.”
TMZ reported that Chaz Bono was undergoing a sex change from female to male. Bono’s publicist Howard Bragman stated,
“Yes, it’s true — Chaz, after many years of consideration, has made the courageous decision to honor his true identity.
He is proud of his decision and grateful for the support and respect that has already been shown by his loved ones. It is Chaz’s hope that his choice to transition will open the hearts and minds of the public regarding this issue, just as his ‘coming out’ did nearly 20 years ago.”
It’s gonna take a lot of work to remove those massive breasts, eh?

Cher is about to get a new son. She must be thrilled.
Chastity Bono, the celebrity offspring of the singer and late husband Sonny Bono, is changing gender from female to male, her publicist told the Daily News on Thursday.
The 40-year-old, known to family and friends as Chaz, came out as a lesbian nearly two decades ago. Bono intends to make the transition from woman to man, publicist Howard Bragman said.
“Chaz, after many years of consideration, has made the courageous decision to honor his true identity,” Bragman said.
“He is proud of his decision and grateful for the support and respect that has already been shown by loved ones.
“It is Chaz’s hope that his choice to transition will open the hearts and minds of the public regarding this issue, just as his coming out did nearly 20 years ago.”
Bragman declined to answer any further questions about the sex change.
Transitioning typically involves hormone therapy, and sometimes - although not always - includes surgery.

A story of interest only to people over a certain age: “Chastity Bono is having a sex change to become a man.”
A spokesman for Bono, born a girl to Sonny and Cher, says he “has made the courageous decision to honor his true identity” and began the sex-change process earlier this year.
Publicist Howard Bragman said Bono is proud of his decision and hopes “that his choice to transition will open the hearts and minds of the public regarding this issue.”
The 40-year-old writer, activist and reality-TV star came out as gay 20 years ago, Bragman said.
In the book “Family Outing: A Guide to the Coming-Out Process for Gays, Lesbians, & Their Families,” Bono describes the realization of being “somehow different — specifically different from who my mom expected me to be.”
I grew up on “Sonny and Cher” and Chastity is only slightly younger than I am, so there’s something a bit surreal about this. I am reminded of a classic lyric from the late, great Jerry Reed:
Now, there ain’t no sexy dresses
And there ain’t no beehive hair
Just boys who look like girls
Who look like boys, who look like Cher
On a more serious note, I’m never sure what the implications of this are. Will Bono be considered “straight” after successful reassignment surgery? Or was s/he never gay to begin with, merely transgendered and unaware of that fact.
Mike Tyson’s 4-year-old daughter is on life support and in very critical condition after her brother found her hanging Monday morning from a treadmill cord in their Phoenix home, police said.
While the girl’s mother was cleaning in the house, Tyson’s daughter was playing separately in a playroom.
The mother sent the girl’s 7-year-old brother to look for the 4-year-old girl. The boy found his sister in distress and got his mother, police said.
The mother found her daughter on a treadmill with her neck on what was described as a cable attached to the treadmill, police said.
She took her daughter off the cable, called 911, and began CPR.
The girl was taken to St. Joe’s Hospital after she was found around 10:30 a.m local time, MyFOXPhoenix.com reported.
Tyson was not home at the time. Initial reports indicate it was, a “tragic accident,” police said.
Very tragic… every parents worst nightmare.
Mel Gibson’s girlfriend, Oksana Grigorieva, is pregnant with his child.
Sources say Gibson has already told his estranged wife, Robyn, and their children about the news. We’re told Oksana is in her second trimester.
Robyn filed for divorce on April 13.
By the way, Oksana is living in a house Mel got for her. And guess what else? Until recently, Oksana was living in a house purchased by songwriter/producer David Foster, with whom she also had a relationship.
Jenna Jameson, porn star extraordinaire, gave birth to twin boys a mere 4 weeks ago.
On Friday, she posted this post-baby bikini photo of herself on her MySpace page.
WOW! She looks great, and attributes it to staying in shape during pregnancy. From her MySpace:
“When it came to pushing them out, I truly believe the 500 sit ups a day paid off. I was able to push my 5 pound Jesse out in 5 pushes. Journey who was 4lb 11oz was out in 3 pushes.

Hardly surprising, as both weigh in at 8st and, save for a couple of inches in height (at 5ft 6in, Jane is two inches taller) and different eye colours (Jane’s are brown, Janet’s are blue) they are virtually identical.
But Janet and Jane are not twins. They aren’t even sisters. They are mother and daughter. And, in what many will see as a depressing indictment of today’s youth-obsessed society, Janet confesses to having spent more than $15,000 on plastic surgery in a desperate effort to bridge the 22-year age gap between herself and her daughter.
In this image-conscious age, it is a bittersweet moment for many mothers to confront the fact that their daughter’s beauty eclipses her own.
It is a rite of passage that most women, while far from thrilled, are pragmatic enough to accept as a part of life.
But not 50-year-old Janet. She views the small matter of being in her sixth decade as a mere technicality.
She is amused and proud that friends jokingly refer to her and her daughter as Paris and Chantelle after the platinum blonde socialite and the equally platinum former Celebrity Big Brother contestant.
Some might see this as empowering for a woman who is well into middle age. Others might take the view that it is contrary to the laws of Mother Nature - not that Janet has much truck with her anyway.
‘Who wouldn’t want to look like my daughter?’
As she told the Mail this week: ‘It might sound barmy that I had cosmetic surgery to look like my daughter, but she’s gorgeous. Who wouldn’t want to look like her?
‘The way I see it is that she got her looks from me in the first place - mine have just faded with age.
‘Seeing how attractive Jane is made me want to get my looks back. Now instead of mum and daughter we look more like twins. I had good genes and good skin, but I needed a helping hand to make me feel better about myself.’
Certainly Janet wasn’t always such a head-turner. Just a few years ago, she was a size 14 redhead and felt, she says, dowdy and unattractive.
Not, she insists, that she was ever vain. ‘I didn’t have time for vanity in my 20s as I was too busy bringing up Jane and her brother, Pete,’ she says.
‘I didn’t pay much attention to myself.’
That changed as she entered her 30s and became increasingly disconsolate with her changing figure.
‘Like any woman who’s had children, gravity had started to take its toll on my breasts,’ she says.
CSI: Miami star David Caruso has been hit with a bombshell lawsuit by Liza Marquez, the ex girlfriend he dumped while she was pregnant.
Liza filed a multi-count suit on David in Los Angeles Superior Court on Thursday. Counts include: Breach of Contract/Settlement Agreement, Fraud, Intentional Infliction of Emotional Distress (Domestic Abuse).
Stunning allegations in the lawsuit include:
·Caruso asking her to terminate her first pregnancy and then telling her “I guess for now you’ll just be a birthing cow.”
·Caruso accusing her of wanting to sleep with Billy Dee Williams
·Marquez discovering that Caruso has a huge 1970s porno stash hidden in his bedroom.
·Caruso “raising his hand” to Marquez while she was pregnant with their second child
·Third parties telling Marquez that Caruso described her as mentally ill.
Marquez says Caruso officially ended their relationship in October, 2007 when she came home from the hospital after giving birth to their second child and was served with a paternity action! She claims there was also a note from Caruso’s attorney, stating “reconciliation is not an option.”
The couple stopped living together shortly before Marquez gave birth.
Ashlee Simpson is a proud mama, sharing a new photo of son Bronx on Twitter. However, she may not be so proud of her husband’s recent antics in Las Vegas!
On Tuesday, Ashlee posted a photo of her four-month-old on the micro-blogging site, saying:
“I present you my little man and his adorable cheeks!”
Interesting timing, as Star magazine is reporting that Pete Wentz was getting wild in Sin City with scantily clad dancers and a boozy Slip ‘n’ Slide over the weekend.
 The Fall Out Boy bassist — who was without his wife of nearly one year — partied hard with about 50 band members, dancers and pals (including Girls Next Door star Holly Madison) following a sold-out show at the Palms Casino Resort on April 5.
“Everybody was going absolutely crazy. People were even drunkenly playing makeshift Slip ‘n’ Slide with a mat and lubricant. And Pete was in great spirits. He was dancing and singing along to his band’s own songs, grinding up against the dancers.”
However, earlier in the day, Ashlee — who headed back home after attending FOB’s April 4 concert in Irvine, Calif. — Twittered: “I am beyond sad to leave my love… My heart is breaking as we drive home.” And also: “I need my hubs.”
Clearly Pete wasn’t quite as upset.
Madonna was reportedly “furious” today after a judge in Malawi sensationally denied her bid to adopt little Mercy.
Madonna was told she could not take the tot back with her to the US because the singer was not a permanent resident of Malawi.
Sources close to the star said she was “spitting blood” after the judge defied the Malawian government to deny the adoption.
But the judge launched a stinging attack on high profile celebrities flying in to poverty-stricken countries and adopting children.
The ruling said:
“Put simply courts do make law by the process of precedence and Miss Madonna may not be the only international person interested in adopting the so-called poor children of Malawi.
By removing the very safeguard that is supposed to protect our children the courts by their pronouncements could actively facilitate trafficking of children by some unscrupulous individuals who would take advantage of the weakness of the law of the land.
Anyone could come to Malawi and quickly arrange an adoption that might have grave consequences on the very children that the law seeks to protect.
Having considered this then, at the end of the day I must decline to grant the application for the adoption of the infant CJ.”
Court registrar Ken Manda told reporters Madonna’s bid to adopt a 4-year-old girl, Mercy James, had been rejected because the singer was not a resident of Malawi.
More than 100 rights groups have accused Malawian authorities of giving Madonna special treatment.
Malawi’s government, which came under fire after Madonna adopted David Banda, said on Thursday it would support a second adoption.
The judge said:
“According to information from global media the petitioner jetted into the country just days after making the application.
I take judicial notice of the reports in the media that the last time that the Petitioner was in the country was in 2008 at the time of the final adoption order for David Banda.
In my considered opinion this would completely remove the Petitioner from the definition of a resident as defined by the Oxford English Dictionary.”
I guess money can’t buy everything.
Dina Lohan wanted to take her daughters out for a special night. Sounds nice, except it was to go partying in a Hollywood nightclub.
The mother of the year escorted Lindsay Lohan and 15 year old Ali Lohan to Villa nightclub in Hollywood, but they were DENIED because of Ali’s age. Dina stupidly protested,
“Do you know who I am?”
Yes, we all know who you are, unfortunately. We also know how horrible of a mother you are. If this wasn’t bad enough, Lindsay jumped in.
“You’re making a huge mistake. Huge!”
What exactly does Lindsay think she can do about it? Smear their name? Persuade all of her friends to boycott the establishment? Ha!

Madonna did not get her adoption approved.
The singer, 50, spent about an hour in court Monday morning in the Malawi capital of Lilongwe, where a judge delayed ruling on her application to adopt a second Malawian child, 3-year-old Mercy James, until Friday. (The child’s name was listed on Monday’s court docket.)
Court official Thomson Ligowe would not reveal any other information.
Mercy James’ grandmother, 61-year-old Lucy Chekechiwa, is reportedly against Madonna’s decision to adopt. (Mercy James’ single teen mother died at age 18; the girl’s father is believed to be alive.)
She told Britain’s The Sun,
“Why doesn’t this singer pick other children? It is stealing. I want to go to to court. I won’t let her go.”
It is unknown if Chekechiwa was at court Monday.
Madonna arrived in the African nation Sunday with her children, Lourdes, 12, and sons Rocco, 8, and David, 3, whom she adopted from Malawi in 2007.
Criticism over her decision to adopt continued to brew over the weekend.

Marriage and step-motherhood have come naturally to Gisele Bündchen – who in February wed New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady, 18 months after his former girlfriend, model-actress Bridget Moynahan, gave birth to Brady’s child, John Edward Thomas Moynahan.
“It was definitely a surprise for both of us,” the supermodel, 28, tells Leslie Bennetts for Vanity Fair’s May issue. Yet the baby’s arrival in their lives, Bündchen insists, has not detracted from her bliss. In fact, little John Edward has contributed to it.
“In the beginning you’re living this romantic fantasy; you’re thinking, This can’t be true, it’s so good! And then, Whoops – wake-up call!”
Should She Leave?
The rude awakening came 2½ months after she had met Brady through a friend in late 2006, when she was instantly attracted to him thanks to his charismatic smile, she says. With Moynahan’s news, however, “[I]t was a very challenging situation,” says Bündchen. “Obviously, in the beginning, it’s not the ideal thing.”
“You question at times – ‘Should I stay here? Maybe you should work this out. But when people break up, it’s for a reason.”
In the end, working with Brady to deal with the baby, “was a blessing, because otherwise I don’t think I would have known what he was made of, and he wouldn’t have known what I was made of,” she says, noting his integrity and “the way he was a good person through all the times. I was like, You have the heart in a good place! It made me feel more in love with him; it made me realize who he was.”
Strengthened Relationship
As a result, says the new bride, who, with Brady, is due to celebrate their marriage with family and friends in Costa Rica this Friday, “Our relationship has become so much stronger, and I think I wouldn’t be as certain as I am today if it weren’t for that.”
What makes Brady perfect for her, says Bündchen, the world’s highest paid supermodel, is:
“He’s very close to his family. He’s Catholic. His parents have been married 40 years. He’s got a pure heart. That’s all that matters – he’s got the purest heart. I feel grateful because I have a lot of love in my life. I found the person I’m sharing my life with. I have a good man.”

The British teen who claimed that an even younger boy fathered her child has a different story to tell after DNA test results showed young Alfie Patten wasn’t the dad.
Chantelle Stedman, 15, said she had only slept with Alfie, age 13. Their story touched off international outrage over the moral standards of parents and their children.
 But The Telegraph reported that other boys a few years older than Alfie had come forward saying they too had slept with Chantelle.
Now The Mirror confirms that while they don’t know who is little Maisie’s dad, it definitely isn’t Alfie.
Stedman’s daughter Maisie was allegedly conceived when Alfie was 12. Chantelle’s parents said they let the lad spend the night with their daughter, who was 14 at the time, at their public housing unit near Eastbourne, 70 miles southeast of London.
Alfie told The Sun he plans to look after his newborn daughter. But in an interview, the boy admitted he didn’t know what the word “financially” meant and acknowledged he doesn’t even get an allowance.
Alfie’s father, who reportedly has nine or 10 children of his own, gamely promised to have a “birds and the bees” chat with his son.
“The result will be a blow to Alfie who was “devastated” by the boys’ claims and “adored” Maisie,” the newspaper reported. “He was convinced he was the dad after a single night of unprotected sex with Chantelle.”
