Lost’s Daniel Dae Kim Arrested for DUI

Yet another “Lost” actor has been arrested for drunk driving. This time, it was Daniel Dae Kim, who plays Jin.

Lost’s Daniel Dae Kim Arrested for DUI In this undated publicity photo released by ABC, actor Daniel Dae Kim appears in a scene from the ABC dramatic series

quote-picActor Daniel Dae Kim was arrested on suspicion of drunken driving early Thursday by Honolulu police — the fourth actor on ABC’s “Lost” to run into trouble with the law while filming in Hawaii. Kim, who plays Korean tough guy Jin-Soo Kwon, was taken into custody before 3 a.m. local time and released after posting bail, police said.

[...]

Other “Lost” stars facing problems with the police in Hawaii include Michelle Rodriguez and Cynthia Watros, whose characters were killed off in 2005 after they both were arrested and pleaded guilty to drunken driving. Rodriguez, who played Ana Lucia, was sentenced to five days in jail and $357 in fines. Watros, who played Libby on the show, had her license suspended for 90 days and paid a $312 fine.

A year ago, Adewale Akinnuoye Agbaje, the actor who played “Mr. Eko,” was arrested for a traffic violation and accused of disobeying a police officer and driving without a license. The charges were dropped, but his character also was killed off.

Kim, 38, was born in Busan, South Korea, but grew up in Easton, Pa., and has a masters degree from New York University. On the show, he portrayed a chauvinistic thug who at first was overly protective of his wife, but then began to warm up to other characters on the mysterious island where “Lost” is set.

Expect Jin to die a horrible death soon; the creative staff doesn’t fool around.

And apparently the mysterious force that causes crazy things to happen on the fictional island where the “Lost” crew is stranded has some actual powers. I’ve never seen anything like this with another show.

‘Lost’ to End in 2010 - Not Soon Enough

ABC is attempting to revive “Lost” by announcing its cancellation — three years from now.

Lost Cast Photo

quote-picABC is attempting to rescue once-hot “Lost” by ending the show — in 2010. Bowing to the fact that convention isn’t working for the drama about plane-crash survivors on a surreal island, the network is taking the unusual step of turning “Lost” into a limited-run series.

It will run for three shorter and uninterrupted seasons until its “highly anticipated and shocking finale” in the 2009-10 season, ABC said Monday.

The series, which saw its ratings drop this season amid complaints about scheduling, an increasingly meandering plot and unpopular new characters, still must prove itself to disenchanted viewers to survive.

“Due to the unique nature of the series, we knew it would require an end date to keep the integrity and strength of the show consistent throughout and to give the audience the payoff they deserve,” ABC Entertainment President Stephen McPherson said in a statement.

I’m not sure that setting an end date — let alone one three years into the future — is going to do much to compensate for bad writing. They turned a sci-fi show about a handful of characters stranded on an island with monsters and mysterious “others” into a soap opera with an endless stream of characters. A once-unique show turned into something ordinary, with competing love interests, a seemingly endless supply of disposable characters that could be killed off to heighten drama. Further, the once-clever revelation of character backstories through flashbacks got old and served as a hindrance to plot development. Indeed, the show is now almost through its third season and they’re, what, three months into their experience on the island?

Frankly, if they had a two-hour series finale next week, that’d be fine, too. I really have almost no interest left in these people.

Michelle Rodriguez Lesbian Sex Video

Michelle Rodriguez, who was on “Lost” until she got arrested for drunk driving, kinda-sorta denies rumors in something called “Curve” magazine that she’s come out as a lesbian.

Michelle Rodriguez Lesbian Sex Video Pic

quote-pic As far as rumors go of me coming out, I guess curve magazine took it upon themselves to out me on the premise of their own suspicions. Whatever, I’m not insulted, I have a big lesbian following, and for whatever reasons they show me love I’m never going to shun, disrespect or neglect anybody who shows me genuine non-psychotic Love.

Michelle Rodriguez Lesbian Curve Magazine Photo But I will Say this, to put words in someone’s mouth and place people in categories affects them for sure, especially in this business. I don’t know what the intent behind the curve magazine cover was. I wasn’t informed of it, I had no Idea they were planning on using my image to sell magazines. By the way I only got kicked out of five schools not six.

Look, I guess what I’m trying to say ultimately is that, if I wanted people to know what I do with my Vagina I would have released A sex video a long time ago. Yet i haven’t done that. You know why? Because extremists can rarely be mediators, mass communicators, or chameleons for that matter. I have bin an extremist in my personal life, Yes. Yet I have never really over stepped the boundaries consciously in the public eye. I have really focused on specific types of films for that very reason, I don’t need to be limited by judgmental labels, especially in a society ruled mostly by an MTV A.D.D. mentality. See, I even labeled, It’s almost second nature to the generation Y culture, and what about the popular culture groups that buy up all the US Weekly’s, In Touch’s, Hello’s And the readers of sites like Perez Hilton.com.

If I were Ellen I may get away with: ‘ The I’m Gay’ level of exposure, but I’m not a comedian, I like men; ( real One’s Anyway) and I’ve only bin in this business for 7 years not 20. Years of recognition can give a person lots of leverage especially if you have many years of positive recognition under your belt. There are certain things that can close doors between a celebrity and certain audiences. Especially in a world where walls are constantly being put up by people seeking comfort and groups to belong to. There is so much out there, over-saturation of music, media, Agenda News, war, political drama, high school prom drama, image drama, religion drama, Bully drama. All this drama is caused by one thing, not understanding the true meaning of communication and the real power behind it. It’s tough to learn, I’m working on it myself, but when people come out of nowhere and put words in my mouth or call me Gay, they should really think for one second How they could truly affect my life by doing such things. You don’t know what producer, director, would be husband or future audience member may be influenced by these opinions and media content.

I want to communicate on a worldly scale, i don’t care if your a bigot, highly religious, gay, poor, rich, stupid, or intelligent, i close no door when it comes to my media work. Some people,
( I call them ‘the sheep People’), are highly susceptible to outside influences and suggestions, Especially that of recognizable media channels. These people may make up most of the worlds population. They may not want to even watch a film I produce, direct, or star in, because of Mediocre Rumors produced by insect sucubus media hounds looking for a quick buck. Who knows, I could have inspired his kid with a kids flic I produced, i could have done a female drama, that a girl would have felt empowered by, yet she didn’t go see it because her religion says to ’steer from the queer’, or the kid didn’t see it cause highly religious Poppa doesn’t want anything to do with films made by Michelle Rodriguez that DUI, Dyke, Misfit. I am free spirited enough to understand ‘the keep it real be free’ and ‘The I can’t care about everything they think’ factor, yet I’m not stupid to the powers and influences of communication and I’ve screwed up enough to see the various repercussions of miss- communication. So All I say to both the audience and Media is to be mindful of what you say and do simply because Karma is real and you reap what you sow.

So, apparently, the much-awaited Michelle Rodriguez Lesbian Sex Video is not coming out soon. Of course, that’s what Kim Kardasian said, too.

ASL’s J. Harvey is having trouble sifting through Rodriguez’ un-spellchecked ramblings: “Is she actually saying she’s gay, but doesn’t want to say it because it will hurt her career? Can one of our more astute readers tackle this and translate?” She said “I like men,” so I’m guessing she’s bi.

We’ll have to wait for that sex tape to know for sure, though.

(BTW: Curve calls itself “The Best-Selling Lesbian Magazine.” But how many lesbian magazine are there, really?)

‘Lost’ Creators Plotting Series End

“Lost” is one of the most popular series on television but its writers don’t want to keep it around too long.

Makers of the tropical island drama “Lost” say they’re talking with ABC executives about setting an end date for the series.

There’s no sense the finale is coming anytime soon. But knowing they have a deadline will help writers of the convoluted drama lay out how they want the story to end, producers said Sunday in a meeting with TV critics here. “Once we figure out when that will be, a lot of the questions will go away,” said Carlton Cuse, an executive producer. “Lost” is in its third season. The producers, citing Fox’s “The X-Files,” said they didn’t want to wear out their welcome. “That was a great show that probably ran two seasons too long,” Cuse said. “That is a cautionary tale for us.”

“Lost” is due back on ABC’s schedule next month following an extended hiatus after the season’s first six episodes and will air uninterrupted through May. The schedule was a direct result of fans’ complaints about reruns disrupting their concentration in past seasons, producers said. It’s likely next year that all 22 episodes will run consecutively, much like Fox is doing with “24.”

One prominent critic — ABC Entertainment President Stephen McPherson — said he thought the first six episodes this season concentrated too heavily on the stories of Jack, Kate and Sawyer at the expense of other members of the large cast. The producers said that will be rectified right away for the season’s second half as “Lost” goes back to the beach.

My wife and I started watching “Lost” well into its run by renting them on Netflix and catching up to real time. We simply wouldn’t be watching the show if we had to endure ABC’s idiotic scheduling. Indeed, now that we’ve caught up, our interest has waned because of the long hiatus. Running all 22 episodes consecutively might be a little drastic, as there is traditionally a skipped week here and there for holidays, but much better than what they’ve been doing.

The irony is that, in the days of three networks with a captive audience, programs were shown that way. The new season started in September and shows ran through late spring and then re-runs were shown during the summer. Now that there are dozens, often hundreds, of channels for viewers to chose from, the networks are doing everything they can to alienate their audience. It’s truly baffling.

‘Lost’ Season 3 Preview

The cast of the hit ABC drama “Lost” say they’re not bothered in the least by having been passed over for any Emmy nominations. And they fill us in on some big changes for next season.

Lost Cast Photo Daniel Dae Kim, left, Evangeline Lilly, Josh Holloway, right, cast members of ABC's TV series 'Lost' pose with Bryan Burk, executive producer, before the season two DVD release party at the Turtle Bay Resort in Kahuku, Hawaii August 15, 2006. The season premier of season three will be on October 4, 2006 while the DVD of season two will be released on September 5, 2006. (AP Photo/Lucy Pemoni) The hatch is history. That was just one of the third-season secrets revealed by cast and crew of the TV drama “Lost,” who gathered here Tuesday night to mark the release of the DVD set, “Lost — The Complete Second Season.” “The hatch has definitely had its moment,” confirmed executive producer Bryan Burk, referring to the mysterious underground bunker that was the set for much of the series’ second-season drama. “Lets just say it was one big explosion.”

“Lost” cast members Evangeline Lilly, Jorge Garcia, Josh Holloway, Terry O’Quinn, Daniel Dae Kim and Yunjim Kim were among the attendees at the party at the Turtle Bay Resort, about a 20-minute drive from where much of “Lost” is filmed on the north shore of Oahu. Before heading in to celebrate their second-season work, the cast was asked to address their show’s surprising lack of presence among this year’s Emmy nominees. Though it was last year’s Emmy-winning drama, “Lost” was not among the current crop of nominated series, nor were any of its leading actors recognized.

“My first reaction to it was, `Good.’ I don’t want us to become that show that becomes so righteous, so above everything else, that we’re untouchable,” said Lilly, who will serve as a presenter at the Aug. 27 Emmy telecast. “When we started, our big question was, `Will anybody even watch this show?’ And then when people started watching, we were thrilled. And then when we got recognized critically, we were beside ourselves. So, when we didn’t get nominated, all we had to do was remember where we came from.”

Writer and executive producer Carlton Cuse told The AP he wasn’t losing sleep about the Emmy snub, either. “Were we disappointed that we didn’t get a nomination for the show? Yes.” he said. “But the show has been so blessed: the attention, the success. We’re not going to focus too long on what we don’t have.”

“Lost” fans can expect some big changes when new episodes return to ABC Oct. 4. There won’t be any more frustrating repeats. “Now, when `Lost’ is on, it’s on,” Cuse explained. “And when it’s off, it’s off. And when it’s on, you know it’s an original `Lost.’” The producers said six all-new “Lost” episodes will air in consecutive weeks this fall; the season’s remaining 17 new episodes will be scheduled without interruption from midwinter to late spring.

As for the story: If the first season was all about the original plane-crash survivors adjusting to their new lives on a deserted island, and the second season was all about the so-called “tailies” (those who were in the tail of the plane, whom the originals had thought were dead), “this year,” Lilly said, “we’ve opened this up to another whole other people, a whole other location, a whole other facet through which we can tell stories.”

Michael Emerson, who plays the leader of “The Others” group, noted, “What I know is that we get to go live with The Others, where they learn a little more about their life and, hopefully, their mission, their agenda, whatever that might be. Maybe we’ll get to warm up to them.”

Producer Burk promised that many of the second season’s looming questions would be answered in the first six episodes. But, warned actor Daniel Dae Kim, “I think for every question that’s answered, there’s another one that’s posed, and that’s kind of what keeps people coming back.”

Cuse said the new season will include more action and adventure, and that new characters could well serve as love interests. And, he added, Sawyer (Holloway) and Jack (Matthew Fox) will definitely be competing for the romantic affections of Kate (Lilly). But don’t expect the show to get all soft. “There’ll be a lot of love. There’ll be a lot of comedy,” Burk said. “But we can never forget that these people are in a very dark place.”

“Lost” and “Battlestar Galactica” are easily my favorite non-sports shows on these days. The new ABC Family show, “Kyle XY” is also interesting, although it’s a little too schmaltzy for my tastes.

Naveen Andrews Cheats on Barbara Hershey

It seems that the strains of filming a popular television show in Hawaii have put a strain on Naveen Andrews’ long relationship with Babara Hershey, a beautiful woman old enough to be his mother.

Photo Lost Star Naveen Andrews's Mystery Date What was Lost’s Naveen Andrews – who’s dated Barbara Hershey since 1998 – doing on Manhattan Beach on Saturday with a mystery blonde? “I have no comment,” his rep tells PEOPLE in its new issue. “Naveen and Barbara are still together.” In fact, during a PEOPLE interview just hours before the beach romp, Andrews, 37 – who plays former Iraqi soldier Sayid on the hit ABC drama – insisted all was well. “(My private life) seems to be dysfunctional,” he said, “(but) what’s actually going on. … is good and pure.”

In January, Andrews admitted he’d fathered a baby boy with another woman during a brief 2005 split from Hershey, 58. “I have every intention of assuming appropriate responsibility for the child,” he said in a statement at the time. The British-born actor also said that he and Hershey had worked things out and remained committed to their relationship.
[...]

Naveen Andrews with Barbara Hershey 2005 Photo At age 29, Andrews met Hershey, who was 50 at the time (and the mother of a son, Tom, now 32, from her relationship with Kung Fu star David Carradine in the ’70s) on the set of the obscure 1999 indie film Drowning on Dry Land. “I’ve always liked women who are older,” Andrews told PEOPLE. “They seem to know who they are, and they’ve lived. They’ve got soul, and that’s very attractive.”

However, he admitted to some strains in his relationship with Hershey, especially with him spending much of his time on Oahu, where Lost is filmed. “It requires a constant effort to make sure you see each other,” he said. “Our limit is usually three weeks apart.” When the couple get together in Hawaii or L.A., their permanent home, “we basically shut down, and it’s just us,” Andrews said. “We don’t really go out on the (party) scene at all. We go to bookshops.”

I’m guessing he didn’t head to a bookshop with the blonde hottie in the first photo.

Evangeline Lilly hates mirrors

Some people are insecure. I get that. I get that some time people don’t have floor length mirrors in their house. But, Evangeline, I am warning you. If you don’t have mirrors, you might just wake up one day and be 500 lbs. And I would think it hard to be a sex symbol at 500 lbs.

From LSE:

Evangeline Lilly covers up the mirrors in her house - because she is paranoid about how she looks. The stunning actress, who plays one-time fugitive Kate in hit US series ‘Lost’, says since starring in the hugely popular show she has become extremely self-conscious over her appearance and constantly finds flaws with her body.

She told Britain’s Reveal magazine: “I’ve never felt so stressed or conscious of how I look. If you walk into my bathroom, the mirror is covered by a sarong. I just want to forget what I look like when I get home.” It is not the first time Lilly has confessed she is paranoid about her figure.

The 56th annual Emmy Award Nominations were announced this morning. And quite a few surprises I might add! Desperate Housewives was snubbed! EVERY one of them. (well, except for the creepy Betty - but not one of the main ladies!) And I can’t say I am just a slight bit giddy with delight. The show sucks. But am very upset by the fail to mention LOST as a contender in the Drama category. (Helloooo..they won last year!) Lost’s Emilie de Ravin Marries Josh Janowicz (Photo)

Lost actess Emilie de Ravin has married someone I’ve never heard of.

Emilie de Ravin - Josh Janowicz Wedding Photo Emilie de Ravin, 24, who plays Claire Littleton on the ABC hit series Lost, wed actor Josh Janowicz on June 19 in a small, private ceremony in Melbourne, Australia, with family and friends on hand. The groom wore Hugo Boss. For her walk down the aisle, de Ravin selected an ivory Monique Lhuillier Chantilly lace scoop neck top with cap sleeves, paired with a satin paneled trumpet skirt and accented with a cameo ribbon sash.

The couple dated for three years before becoming engaged on January 1, 2005, while visiting de Ravin’s family in Australia for the holidays.

Though Lost is filmed in Hawaii, the couple reside in Los Angeles, California, with their pet dog, Bella. De Ravin recently starred in the thriller The Hills Have Eyes. Janowicz, 24, has appeared in the film The Chumscrubber and will next be seen in the film On the Doll.

Via US Weekly blog, where the readers have apparently not heard of de Ravin, either, and are mad that anyone is posting about it. Consider this my stance in solidarity with US Weekly and Z-list stars, everywhere.

Michelle Rodriguez Released Hours into 60 Day Sentence

Michelle Rodriguez, who was sentenced to 60 days in jail for violating probabation, served only a few hours before being released due to overcrowding.

Michelle Rodriguez Mugshot Photo The former star of ABC’s “Lost” still must serve 30 days of community service and remain on probation until June 2009, a spokeswoman for the city attorney’s office said. “Our prosecutors are not happy about it, but that is the sad reality of our overcrowded jails,” said spokeswoman Contessa Mankiewicz.

Calls to Rodriguez’s attorney and publicist were not immediately returned Tuesday. “Michelle’s happy with the way things turned out,” Rodriguez’s friend, designer Anand John, told People magazine in a story posted Tuesday on its Web site. “She knows this wasn’t a literal get-out-of-jail-free card. Michelle’s taken responsibility for the past, and now she’s ready to focus on her career.”

The 27-year-old actress served five days in jail in Hawaii last month after pleading guilty to drunken driving. The Dec. 1 arrest in Honolulu violated the three-year probation term she was given in Los Angeles County in 2004 after pleading no contest to charges of hit-and-run, driving on a suspended license and drunken driving.

Didn’t they know the jails were crowded before she reported in? And, really, who cares how much room criminals have?

‘Lost’ Actress Michelle Rodriguez Sentenced Again

Michelle Rodriguez, who played Ana Lucia on “Lost,” was sentenced to 60 days in jail and 30 days of community service for violating her parole on a 2004 crime spree.

Actress Michelle Rodriguez, who served five days in jail in Hawaii last month for drunk driving, must serve 60 days for violating her probation with that arrest, a spokesman for the city attorney said Monday.

Judge Rex Hesseman also sentenced the former star of television’s “Lost” to 30 days of community service with the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, stints with the Mothers Against Drunk Driving victim impact panel and the city’s hospital and morgue program, said spokesman Frank Mateljan. She must also attend an alcohol education program.

[...]

The Honolulu arrest violated the three-year probation term the actress was given in 2004 after pleading no contest to charges of hit-and-run, driving on a suspended license and driving under the influence of alcohol, Mateljan said. Her probation on those charges has now been extended until June 2009.

Rodriguez’s “Lost” character, Ana Lucia, was killed off in an episode broadcast earlier this month. The show’s producers have said that plot twist had nothing to do with her arrests.

What’s especially ironic is that we all know how much she hates community service, having chosen jail time rather than do it for her DUI conviction.

Michelle Rodriguez Photo Update: CPG is a day late on the coverage but makes up for it with some great photos. This is probably the best I’ve seen Rodriguez look. More pics at the link.
