Rebecca Black Pulls ‘Friday’ From YouTube

Today is Friday and if you’re one of the few people who needed Rebecca Black‘s music video for her song, ‘Friday’, to kick off your weekend and let you know what day comes next then your out of luck because she has pulled the video from YouTube.

TMZ report that Rebecca’s team decided to pull the video down because of an argument they are having with ARK Music Factory, the team behind the video and song, over rights to the video and Rebecca’s image. Rebecca’s lawyer confirmed the news by saying:

“We can confirm that we submitted a Take Down Notice to YouTube as a result of the dispute we have with Ark Music regarding the ‘Friday’ video.”

Apparently earlier on in the week when people went to view the video on YouTube they were asked to pay a $2.99 video rental charge, seriously who the hell would pay to watch this shit?, but this didn’t set too well with Rebecca’s team who removed the video all together.

If your worried about not being able to kick off your weekend to this song then don’t worry you can still download it on iTunes for $0.99. I think I’ll pass on that option though and just listen to it here:

Lady GaGa Releases ‘Edge Of Glory’ Video – Watch Here

Lady GaGa has released her music video for her latest song, ‘The Edge Of Glory’, and as you can see below it is an extremely boring video, well in my opinion anyway.

Maybe it’s because I’m used to GaGa’s videos being so out there that this one just seems to be boring because it’s basically just her dancing around on a fire escape while singing along to the song. This isn’t the original concept for the video though, because Joseph Kahn was originally supposed to direct the video but there seems to have been some drama that went down on the set.

Apparently in Kahns concept for the video he had a hospital scene, a scene at the Brooklyn Bridge and a mermaid scene but during the shoot GaGa and her team decided they didn’t want this so she took over and directed the video herself.

Meanwhile the now infamous mea dress that GaGa wore at the 2010 MTV Video Music Awards is now heading for the Rock Hall Of Fame and while this is all going on GaGa is continuing her fight to support gay rights because she has found herself in the center of the battle to legalize gay marriage in New York.

What do you think about the video?

Clarence Clemons Suffers a Stroke

Bruce Springsteen‘s E Street Band‘s legendary saxophonist Clarence Clemons suffered a stroke on Sunday, June 12th.

Showbiz 411′s Roger Friedman reported last night that Clemons “is said to be seriously ill after a stroke at his home in Florida.”

Friedman notes that Clemons has had health problems in the past, including having both knees replaced, but “this situation, as described to me this evening, sounds pretty dire. I am told that members of the E Street Band were advised to get down to Florida as soon as possible.”

Rolling stone has confirmed the report, citing an anonymous source.

Clemons last performed with Springsteen and the E Street Band in December of 2010 at Asbury Park’s Carousel House for a special web broadcast taping.

He can be heard on two songs on Lady Gaga’s new album Born This Way, and played on stage with her last month during the American Idol season finale.

Outside of his work with the E Street Band, Clemons has recorded with many other artists and has had a number of musical projects on his own.

The best known of these are his 1985 vocal duet with Jackson Browne on the hit single “You’re a Friend of Mine”, and his saxophone work on Aretha Franklin‘s 1985 hit single “Freeway of Love”.

Adele Angers Fans, After Complaining About Paying Taxes

Adele is receiving some major backlash, after making comments about the amount she has to pay in taxes.

“I’m mortified to have to pay 50 percent!” the “Rolling in the Deep” singer recently, reports Metro.

“While I use the NHS, I can’t use the public transport any more. Trains are always late, most state schools are shit and I’ve gotta give you, like, four million quid – are you having a laugh?”

What did her fans think?

“God that Adele pop singer is such a moron,” one tweeted. “Her comments on tax are ignorant. I’m pretty sure it’s just her way.”

Adding to the resentment, another said, “Got my paycheck today. Looking at the amount I take home after taxes and insurance is just depressing. F— you, Adele.”

That’s what you get.

The Parents Television Council Blast Rihanna’s New Video

The other day I posted the new music video for Rihanna‘s new song, Man Down, but it has since come under fire from the Parents Television Council because they claim it shows a “cold, calculated execution of murder”.

The PTC are furious that Rihanna shoots a man in a crowded train station after he raped her, and they say this doesn’t show a proper form of justice. In my opinion it’s the best form of justice.

Then there is another watchdog group called Industry Ears who bring up Chris Brown in the argument, they say “If Chris Brown shot a woman in his new video and BET premiered it, the world would stop. Rihanna should not get a pass …”

How classy to bring up the man who beat up his girlfriend and compare the two. BET are also underfire from both groups for airing the video. TMZ are running a poll at the moment asking who is right and surprisingly the PTC are winning.

What is your opinion on this?

Rihanna Releases ‘Man Down’ Video – Watch Here

Earlier this month Rihanna released the music video for her song, ‘California King Bed’, and now she has released the music video for her latest one, ‘Man Down’.

The video, which was also directed by Anthony Mandler, premiered on 106 & Park earlier today and Rihanna took to her Twitter account to write “ManDownVideo #brrrraaaaappp rah rah rah MO FYAH!!!! #RihannaNavy.”

I am loving this song, it’s been my favorite off her Loud album since it got released and I’m glad she finally did a music video that actually makes sense and goes with the lyrics to the song. What do you think?

Panic! At The Disco Frontman Breaks Ankle During Show (Video)

Panic! At The Disco were playing a show in Pompano, Florida, over the weekend when frontman Brendon Urie broke his ankle on stage but he wasn’t planning on letting his fans down because he kept going through and even showed off his ankle. You can see it in the video but be warned it’s kind of vile.

TMZ reports that Brendon broke his ankle when climbing back on stage after going into the crowd, he then took his shoe off to show off the injury and said “there’s like a softball in my ankle … my left leg is done for the show, if you don’t mind … the show will go on if you’ll have us.”

When the show was over he then took to his Twitter account to post this photo of his foot all bandaged up. I have to say good on him for continuing the show but I feel a little sick after looking at the video.

Sean Kingston in Stable Condition After Jet Ski Accident

Sean Kingston has been moved from critical to stable condition at a Miami hospital.

The singer and a female passenger were rushed to the emergency room after their jet ski collided with a bridge on Sunday evening.

According to People, a bystander “tended” to the hip-hop star and the unidentified female before medics were able to arrive at the scene and transport the pair to Jackson Ryder Trauma Center.

“Sean Kingston is now stabilized and has moved from the trauma unit to ICU,” Kingston’s publicist said in a public statement. “Sean’s family thanks everyone for their prayers and support during this time.”

Alcohol was not a factor, according to a report released by the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission.

The report describes the accident by saying, “Anderson was operating a PWC [personal watercraft] with a female passenger westbound along McArthur Cswy towards the Palm Ave bridge. Anderson struck the bridge and was transported to Ryder Trauma Center in critical condition.”

The other passenger, a 23-year-old female, was listed as being “uninjured.”

Kingston is still in critical condition, but has been stabilized.

Bob Dylan Was Addicted To Heroin

It’s been revealed that Bob Dylan had to battle his way through a heroin addiction back in the early ’60s after an unheard interview with the singer was found.

Dylan’s friend, Robert Shelton, was interviewing the singer on his private plane back in March 1966 when the conversation about his heroin addiction was brought up. Here’s what the singer had to say:

“I kicked a heroin habit in New York City. I got very, very strung out for a while, I mean really, very strung out. And I kicked the habit. I had about a $25-a-day habit and I kicked it.”

Dylan then went on to speak about how that after he was labelled a genius for his music he started to feel suicidal, here’s what he said about that:

“Death to me is nothing … death to me means nothing as long as I can die fast. Many times I’ve known I could have been able to die fast, and I could have easily gone over and done it. I’ll admit to having this suicidal thing … but I came through this time. I’m not the kind of cat that’s going to cut off an ear if I can’t do something. I’m the kind of cat that would just commit suicide. I’d shoot myself in the brain if things got bad. I’d jump from a window … man, I would shoot myself. You know I can think about death, man, openly.”

According to PopEater these tapes are being used for a movie that is currently in production about Dylan’s life. I can’t say I’m really shocked by this, I mean after all what musician wasn’t strung out at some stage in their life back in the 60s and 70s?

Lady GaGa Visits Letterman In Underwear (Photos)

Lady Gaga continued her hectic promotional tour and visited the”Late Show with David Letterman yesterday in New York and this is the outfit that she decided to leave the building wearing. I can’t say I’m too shocked because after all this is Lady GaGa.

In other news it seems like Amazon really wanted to get business yesterday because they decided to sell the standard version of GaGa’s new album, ‘Born This Way’, for just 99 cents yesterday and it seemed to have work because the website apparently nearly crashed when the album was released.

It’s been announced that Born This Way could sell up to a million copies in it’s first week and as we all know given the music industry now this is quite incredible. Have you listened to the album yet? What are your thoughts? I myself am loving it, even though it pains me to say it.

5 Comic Books By Rock Stars

Most rock stars have tried to cross over into other forms of business as their careers grow whether it be acting or whatever else but there is some rock stars who realize their image might be perfect for comic books. Because of this, the Phoneix News Times have come up with a list of the 5 best comic books that rock stars brought out:

Kiss (Marvel, 1977)

There have been many Kiss comics printed since this first one, but what makes this comic the Kiss comic to have is the way it was printed: using the blood of the band members. A registered nurse drew blood from Gene Simmons, Paul Stanley, Ace Frehley, and Peter Criss (which was witnessed by a notary public), and then the blood was dumped into vats of red ink at Marvel’s Borden Ink plant. The comic features Kiss in four different stories, with guest appearances by such characters at The Avengers, Dr. Doom, and Spider-Man. Inked by Allen Milgrom (Peter Parker, the Spectacular Spider-Man; X-Factor) and written by the late Steve Gerber (co-creator of Howard the Duck), the first Kiss comic is the most collectible in rockdom. The first pressings of the 66-page comic included a concert centerfold, and to buy one today, fans will need to fork over anywhere from $100 to $150.

Gwar (Slave Pit Funnies, 1995 – 1999)

Metal band Gwar is a comic book, so it’s only fitting they printed their own comics for a while. Like the first Kiss comics, the Gwar comics feature a handful of stories in each issue, each one dealing with the band destroying something, someone, or someplace. Fans of the band will recognize the full-color artwork as that of Hunter Jackson, who (until 2002) did all the artwork for the band, in addition to making prosthetic limbs and props for the band’s stage show.

The Amory Wars (Evil Ink Comics, 2004 – present

This comic is written by Claudio Sanchez, frontman of progressive metal band Coheed and Cambria. The comic’s storyline is also the focus of the band’s concept albums. The basic premise is that there’s a struggle for power in a place called Heaven’s Fence, a collection of 78 interconnected planets. The hero is Claudio Kilgannon, and he must ultimately fight Wilhelm Ryan, ruler of Heaven’s Fence and murderer of Kilgannon’s family. While I’m a huge fan of Coheed and Cambria’s music, I couldn’t get into The Amory Wars. The artwork (by Chris Miller) is decent, and the slick, full-color pages are nice, but the traditional sci-fi plot (struggle for power on a fictional planet) didn’t pull me in. I never warmed up to the story’s hero, either, and there aren’t any intriguing, strong supporting characters to help maintain my interest, either.

Death Dealer (Verotik, 1995)

The coolest thing about the first Death Dealer series is that legendary artist Frank Frazetta (whose 1973 fantasy painting inspired the whole Death Dealer franchise) provided the covers. The worst? The stories were written by Glenn Danzig, who’s a much better punk and metal singer than comic book writer. That Frazetta didn’t give his full blessing on a Death Dealer storyline until 2007 (which Danzig had nothing to do with) is evidence of this. Danzig doesn’t deviate much from the storylines in James Silke’s Death Dealer novels — we have a lone, bad ass barbarian who wears a helmet possessed by the god of death, trying to defend his forest from Mongol-like invaders, but who uses dry, deadpan dialogue and has no points of empathy for the average Joe. The art for Danzig’s Death Dealer comics is killer (thanks to the work of folks like Simon Bisley and Liam Sharp), but the weak storyline reads like fan fiction — which it pretty much is.

The Umbrella Academy (Dark Horse Comics, 2007 – present)

My Chemical Romance singer Gerard Way created this comic, which has a layered storyline filled with interesting characters. The Umbrella Academy is a group of disbanded superheroes who were each trained from birth by an alien disguised as a human named Sir Reginald Hargreeves. Their goal was to save the world from a mysterious threat. After Hargreeves’ death, the group reunites and resumes trying to save the world. It’s not an outside-the-box plot for a comic, but Way keeps it interesting with characters like the knife-throwing Kraken and the levitating medium Séance. The artwork, by Gabriel Bá (Casanova) and James Jean (winner of seven Eisner Awards), is also stunning in its dark, surreal simplicity.

To be honest I only really knew about the KISS comics, but I thought this list was kind fun. What other comic books do you think should be up here?

Beyoncé’s ‘Run The World (Girls)’ Video Premieres – Watch Here

Beyonce released the music video for her song, ‘Run The World (Girls)’, and I’m honestly not sure what my feelings towards it are. I love the song and visually the video looks great but it’s not exactly what I expected it to be. Here is what Beyonce recently had to say about the song:

“The song is definitely riskier than something a bit more simple, I just heard the track and loved that it was so different. It felt a bit African, a bit electronic and futuristic. It reminded me of what I love, which is mixing different cultures and eras – things that typically don’t go together – to create a new sound.”

Beyonce worked with eight different choreographers for the video, which was directed by Francis Lawrence, what do you think about the video?

Lady GaGa Releases ‘Hair’ – Listen Here

Last week Lady GaGa released ‘The Edge Of Glory’ as a promotional song on iTunes and as promised now she has released another new song, ‘Hair’.

GaGa released both Hair and The Edge Of Glory as promotional singles for her album, Born This Way, but after the latter blew up the charts and went number 1 on iTunes all over the world she made it an official single.

In the song she sings “I just want to be myself and I want you to love me for who I am, I just want to be myself and I want you to know, I am my hair.”

What do you think of this song? I’m loving it already, Born This Way is shaping up to be a pretty good album so far in my opinion.

Whitney Houston Is Banned From Prince Concerts

Just yesterday it was announced that Whitney Houston is in an out-patient rehabilitation program for drugs and alcohol and now she has been given a ban from seeing Prince in concert because she is basically a mess.

TMZ reports that people working for Prince have gotten so sick of her drunken behavior and constant ticket demands so they have now banned her from attending his future shows.

On top of being drunk, and possibly on drugs, at every show she also wanted to get up on stage at most of the shows so they eventually let her up on stage at The Forum in Los Angeles and this is the result of that:

What a mess. In other news, Radar Online are reporting that Whitney’s is going back to the old days with her choice of drugs if Bobby Brown is to be believe. He is going around saying that Whitney is back on crack. A friend of Bobby said “It’s the worst it’s ever been. Whitney went on tour again, and that’s when the relapse occurred. Whitney’s shutting a lot of people out of her life. It is a dire situation.”

Let’s all get a prayer circle together and hope she gets herself together, but I honestly don’t see it happening for a long time.
