The 2011 Emmy Nominations Announced

The 2011 Emmy Award nominations were announced today by Joshua Jackson and Melissa McCarthy, who ended up finding herself nominated for her work on Mike & Molly, and it’s Mad Men that has come out on top this year with a whopping 19 nominations.

Mad Men, which has won best drama for the past three years, is followed by Boardwalk Empire with 19 nominations and Modern Family, last year’s top comedy series, with 17 nominations.

Newcomer Game of Thrones and sitcom 30 Rock each have 13 nominations while getting snubbed this year is True Blood, The killing and Justified.

Glee star Jane Lynch, will host this years show when it takes place in two months on September 18th and will air live from Los Angeles’s Nokia Theatre. Full list of nominations are after the jump, who do you think should win what category?

Nadya Suleman ‘Octomom’ Introduces Kids On Today (Video)

When Octomom, Nadya Suleman, brought her 2-year-old octuplets and nine-year-old daughter, Amara, to the ‘Today’ show, it was complete chaos!

Falling over set lights, drawing on desks or hiding behind stage walls, the talk show host and Suleman had their hands full to say the least.

It costs a reported $15,000 a month for Suleman — also known as “Octomom’’ — to support her 14 children, including the octuplets that brought her into a firestorm of criticism 2 ½ years ago.

How does she pay the bills? She recently hired a manager to help land paying “odd jobs,” including celebrity boxing matches, to contribute to her monthly bills. As long as it is, “appropriate and respectable.”

Suleman believes a recent In Touch magazine article that claimed she said, “I hate babies. They disgust me. My older kids are animals. I can’t discipline them,” came from. Suleman divulged that she is considering suing the magazine for slander.

“I think they should retract it because it’s all slander,” she said. “I love my children. I would do anything for my kids.”

David Hasselhoff Porn Star Role ‘Sons of Anarchy’

Now comes news that The Hoff is capitalizing on his well-endowed reputation by taking on a “meaty role” in an episode of the upcoming ‘Sons of Anarchy‘ Season 4.

According to TVGuide, Hasselhoff will play the part of Dondo, a well-endowed former porn star who is now making major coin by producing sleazy girl-on-girl adult films.

It turns out that, back in the day, Dondo “was given a major career boost by Luanne (Dendrie Taylor) and gets involved in a little dirty work in her memory.” Hasselhoff’s episode will air in October, and he joins an impressive Season 4 guest cast roster that includes Danny Trejo, Rockmond Dunbar, LaMonica Garrett, Niko Nicotera and Ray McKinnon.

Since 2006 Hoff’s been acting as a TV talent show judge, first on ‘America’s Got Talent’ and then on its British counterpart. His most recent acting credits include a cameo in the movie ‘Hop,’ a reprisal of his role as Dr. William ‘Snapper’ Foster on CBS soap opera ‘The Young and the Restless,’ and a part in upcoming horror sequel ‘Piranha 3DD.’

Could this guest role on ‘Sons of Anarchy’ be the big acting comeback Hoff’s been waiting for? Playing a total sleazebag totally revitalized Neil Patrick Harris’s career after all.

Charlie Sheen Signs Deal For New Sitcom

Charlie Sheen may be newly single yet again but I doubt he is crying too much because not only did he bang women from Mexico, Australia and Colombia as soon as the relationship ended but he has now signed a new deal to star in a new sitcom and he stands to make more than ever.

RadarOnline are reporting that Sheen has signed a deal with Lionsgate Television to create and star in a new sitcom for them and television networks are already bidding on the show. As for what type of character he will be playing? A source says that his character will be pretty similar to the one he played on ‘Two and a Half Men’ except it will be a lot racier.

The source continues saying “Networks and cable are bidding on the show right now, with TBS being the front runner. TBS recently expanded their comedy division with the acquisition of The Conan O’Brien Show after his fall out with NBC. Plus cable makes more sense because it offers more creative freedom. In other words the show can be raunchier and more outrageous, which is perfect for Charlie! Lionsgate Television will produce the show. They have committed to ten episodes up front with the option to pick-up and produce 90 more episodes if the ratings prove to be successful. This means the sitcom could be on TV for 8 years, which is a long time! It also means that Charlie will make more money than ever before!”

As for money, apparently he will get paid the same #2 million per episode he was receiving on ‘Two and a Half Men’ except he will receive a higher back-end deal which basically means he stands to make a hell of a lot more money but it also means Lionsgate will be at less risk of losing money if the show flops.

Speaking of Sheen’s old gig it’s been revealed that his character Charlie Harper is set to be killed off when ‘Two and a Half Men’ returns to CBS, apparently Chuck Lorre plans to make sure there is no way that Sheen can ever make a return to the show.

TMZ reports that the script has yet to be finalized but it looks like Lorre wants to have Charlie driving a car over a cliff which is kind of ironic considering two of Sheen’s cars went down a cliff on Mulohalland Drive.

Heidi Klum Goes Nude For ‘Project Runway’

Heidi Klum has stripped down for many photoshoots in her days and here she is doing it again but this time it’s to promote Project Runway as well as trying to promote Lifetime’s sexier image.

As you can see in the ad above Heidi is wearing nothing but a ink that and holding a giant scissors with Tim Gunn‘s famous catchphrase “make it work” written on her arm. Why is Lifetime using a nude photo to promote a TV show you may ask? Well according to The Hollywood Reporter they are trying to shed the image of just having the “women in peril” stereotype that the network has faced tin recent years.

Lifetime president and general manager Nancy Dubuc recently said that showing Heidi naked definitely helps shed that image and help the network move in a new direction for the contemporary woman, she also said a recent to use Heidi naked is simply because “it’s Heidi f**king Klum.”

I couldn’t agree more, I mean if Heidi is willing to strip down to promote your network your hardly going to say no are you? I mean I’ve never watched a full episode of Project Runway but this ad has my interest in maybe watching the new season which kicks off on Living on July 28th.

Heidi herself says “This is definitely sexier than past campaigns we’ve done for Project Runway, I guess you could say ‘Hans and Franz’ are celebrating Season 9!” And one way they are planning on sexing it up? By having none other than Kim Kardashian join Heidi and regular judges Michael Kors and Nina Garcia as a celebrity guest judge on the show for one episode.

MTV Are Going To Recast ‘Jersey Shore’?

There’s been rumors that MTV have plans to recast Jersey Shore for the past year because everytime a season ends the current cast, which includes Snooki, The Situation, Jwoww and Pauly D, all end up wanting more money for the next coming season but now according to new reports MTV are sick of this and want to recast the show with unknowns.

An insider tells US Weekly that “after this group comes back from Italy and shoots season 5 this summer, that will be the end for them.” Apparently the current cast are now earning around $100,000 per episode for the current season they are filming in Italy at the moment.

The insider also says that on top of saving MTV money this will also mean that the cast can move on and peruse other endeavors which includes spin offs. We already know that the four named above all already have secured themselves spin offs. As for Vinny, Ronny, Deena and Sam they all have still to sign any spinoffs, or even be offered one, but lets face it nobody really cares about them do they?

However while these reports are floating around online MTV are denying all of this. They released a statement to The Hollywood Reporter saying “we love the present cast, and their summer adventures have just begun. We currently have no plans to recast the show.”

I myself think MTV should just cancel the whole thing and try a new type of show. The latest season of Jersey Shore the cast were just trying to do things for a bit of camera time and it all seemed very forced. What do you think?

Jackass’ Ryan Dunn Has Died In Car Crash

“Jackass” star Ryan Dunn has passed away after he was involved in a car accident at around 3 am this morning. According to several reports his Porsche went over a guardrail in West Goshen Township, Pennsylvania Bam Margera‘s mother confirmed the sad news to TMZ.

Ryan, who was just 34-years-old, was in the car with an unidentified person and they were both killed in the accident after the car went over the guardrail and then crashed into a tree before catching on fire. At first it was unclear as to who was driving the car but it has now been confirmed that the Jackass star was the driver

Police say that Ryan was identified by his tattoos and they are still trying to identify who the passenger was, they also say that speed may have been the cause of the accident. However there is the possibility that drink may have been a factor in the accident because a couple of hours earlier Ryan posted the following photo on his Twitter account that showed him and two friends drinking at a bar, it’s unclear what exactly he was drinking:

Ryan has starred in all of the Jackass movies and he became most famous for the scene that showed him shoving a toy car into his rectum in the first movie. MTV have released a statement on their Twitter account that said “We’re deeply saddened by the passing of a member of the MTV family, Ryan Dunn. Our hearts and thoughts are with his friends and family.”

Dave Chappelle Returning To Television (Video)

Dave Chappelle ending his six-year hiatus from television with a new show?

According to The Daily, the comedian has been working on material and tinkering with a return that’s as unconventional as his abrupt exit in 2005.

“Dave Chappelle’s going back to TV. It’s not for a network. It’s for Netflix or Crackle or some other subscription service.”

Chappelle of course bailed on his massively popular Comedy Central show, ‘Chappelle’s Show‘ in its third season. He stood to make $50 million in his contract, but walked away following an epiphany on a pilgrimage to South Africa.

“I felt like some kind of prostitute or something. If I feel so bad, why keep on showing up to this place?” he told Oprah at the time.

No deal has been made, but the report indicates Chappelle is looking to bring his talents to a paid-subscription service like Netflix, Hulu or Crackle. All of these online networks have recently ramped up their original content programming. Most notably, Netflix has David Finger’s ‘House of Card,’ priced at $100 million, set to air next year.

In the meantime, Chappelle is working on fresh material at Los Angeles comedy clubs, where one spy told The Daily his set was “really depressing. He was talking about the past, about the show.”

Meredith Vieira Says Goodbye to ‘TODAY’ (Video)

Meredith Vieira signed off from ‘TODAY‘ for the last time Wednesday morning after five years on the job.

The co-host of the NBC program decided in April to leave the show, passing the baton to colleague Anne Curry.

“It’s tough. It’s a hard one. Very mixed emotions. I’m looking at everybody right here and wishing I … no, I know it’s right, but it’s hard,” Vieira said at the top of her last show.

Matt Lauer got right to it in the early part of the show and with Al Roker, Curry and Natalie Morales on hand, introduced a playful montage of some of Merdith’s most memorable moments.

“It’s been a privilege working with you over these past five years,” Lauer said. “And I know the folks at home have enjoyed starting their day with you as well. It has been a great ride.”

Becoming emotional, Vieira spoke about the “power of this show to really reach people and it’s such a blessing to have had that ability. I’m so honored to have sat with all of you.”

Quick with the wit, she added, “Most of you.”

Meredith made the official announcement of her departure last month after rumors that she planned to leave the show popped up in April.

“After months of personal reflection and private conversations between my family and my friends, I’ve decided to leave ‘Today,’ in June,” she said, sitting a couch next to Curry, Matt Lauer and Al Roker.

Cheryl Cole Is Out Of The X Factor Again

Cheryl Cole has had quite the interesting couple of weeks because first of all she was hired as a judge on the X-Factor USA, then she was fired and replaced by Nicole Scherzinger, then she was back as a judge but now she is officially out

When I found out that Cheryl was back on I thought all of this was a publicity stunt but now Fox, Fremantle and SYCO all released a joint statement to TVLine confirming that Cheryl is not going to be apart of the show, here is what they say:

“Nicole Scherzinger will be replacing Cheryl Cole on the judging panel of The X Factor. Nicole will join Simon Cowell, L.A. Reid and Paula Abdul on their search across America to find the next global superstar or group to win the life-changing $5 million dollar recording deal. Nicole has previously joined Simon Cowell as a guest judge on The X Factor for the UK version of the show in 2010. Steve Jones will act as sole host of The X Factor.”

I actually feel really bad for Cheryl but I’m hoping that she does an exclusive interview and says exactly what went on. The real winner in all of this is Steve Jones, he went from being a co-host to now hosting the whole show.

Katie Couric Gets ABC Talk Show

It’s official. After weeks of speculation, Katie Couric has officially announced that she will join the ABC family as host of a brand new syndicated talk show as well as with a role at ABC news.

Couric’s new show reunites her with her former NBC boss Jeff Zucker, who will produce the new series. The untitled show will debut in September 2012 and film in New York.

“I’m very happy to be returning to the network where I began my career as a desk assistant in 1979,” Couric said in a statement. “It is tremendously exciting to have the creative freedom to develop my own show with Anne Sweeney, the Disney/ABC TV Group and Jeff, and to contribute to such a vibrant, innovative news division. I can’t wait to be part of this incredibly talented, visionary team.”

Couric anchored ‘CBS Evening News’ for five years after leaving NBC, where she had worked since 1989. While her new talk show doesn’t debut until next fall, Couric will begin anchoring ABC News specials starting this summer. She’ll contribute to ABC News across all platforms and programs.

Couric’s new talk show will air on ABC’s owned and operated stations at 3PM in New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Philadelphia, San Francisco, Houston, Raleigh/Durham and Fresno.

“Katie Couric is one of television’s iconic figures and we are thrilled to have forged such an exciting partnership with her,” Anne Sweeney, president of Disney/ABC Television Group and co-chair of Disney Media Networks, said in a statement. “We look forward to having Katie join the best News team in the business, and to working with her to create a dynamic and successful talk show franchise.”

Hangover Actor Impersonates An Officer For Sex

A bit actor who played a Las Vegas police officer on the TV series “CSI” faces charges of reprising that role to coerce a woman into sex in a Sin City hotel room.

Douglas Brian Irvin Jr., who also played a hotel guest in the 2009 film “The Hangover,” responded to an ad for a $180 sensual body rub and asked a masseuse to come to his room at the Hooters Casino Hotel.

The woman said Irvin began to touch her sexually against her will and offered her $10,000 for sex. She told detectives she agreed, but she wanted the money up front.

Irvin then is accused of pulling out a laminated identification card that said “police” and telling her that she would be arrested unless she had sex with him for free. He told her that he was a vice detective and that “she was in lot of trouble,” according to an arrest report.

The woman said his demeanor was “very cop-like” and she believed he was a real detective, so she agreed to have sex to avoid being arrested, the report added.

Irvin, who is 32, was booked Thursday into the Clark County Detention Center on charges of impersonating an officer, oppression under color of law, and sexual assault and coercion, the Las Vegas Review-Journal and Las Vegas Sun reported. He was being held without bail.

Detectives located Irvin on Thursday after he met his parole officer. His criminal history wasn’t immediately known.

Police said he gave several different accounts, including that the sex was consensual.

Irvin denied impersonating a police officer, but authorities found a laminated police identification card on him, the report said. Police said they also checked his cellphone and found several photos of him in police uniforms and a photo of a police ID card identifying him as a “special agent.

He told police the photos were from his roles in movies and television.

Irvin also played an FBI agent in the 2008 video release “Stargate: The Ark of Truth” and an intern on three episodes of the medical drama “ER,” according to the Internet Movie Database.

A police spokesman didn’t immediately return a phone call Saturday concerning a request to talk to Irvin.

He was scheduled in court Tuesday.

James Arness ‘Gunsmoke’ Lawman Died

James Arness, a bigger-than-life actor who kept the peace as Marshal Matt Dillon on ‘Gunsmoke’ for its 20-year run, died Friday of natural causes at his home in Brentwood, Calif., his family confirmed to the Los Angeles Times.

He was 88.

‘Gunsmoke’ debuted on CBS in 1955 and ran until 1975, in the process making Arness one of the more enduring stars on television and the Matt Dillon character one of its most beloved and trusted.

The 6 foot 7 Arness towered over the cast, including Dillon’s deputy, Chester, played by Dennis Weaver. Other supporting stars included Amanda Blake as Kitty and Milburn Stone as Doc Adams.

By the time Arness got the part of Dillon, he had been a WWII combat veteran and appeared in several films, most notably the science-fiction classics ‘Them!’ and ‘The Thing From Another World,’ in which he played an alien.

The Minneapolis native’s younger brother, actor Peter Graves, who died last October, encouraged him to get into acting. He cut his Western teeth in four John Wayne film, including ‘Hondo’ and ‘Big Jim McLain.’

It was Wayne that recommended Arness for ‘Gunsmoke’ and an on-air endorsement from the film great himself. “I knew there was only one man to play in it, James Arness,” Wayne told viewers (watch video below). “He’s a young fella and may be new to some of you. But I’ve worked with him, and I predict he’ll be a big star. So you might as well get used to him, like you’ve had to get used to me.”

The role of Marshal Dillon proved a complex one and became a focus of the show, but Arness is said to have pushed producers to move the focus off him and onto the large ensemble cast.

When ‘Gunsmoke’ ended in 1975, appeared a string of TV shows including the miniseries ‘How The West Was Won’ and in the early 1980s, turned leading man again in cop drama ‘McClain’s Law.’

He brought Matt Dillon back for five ‘Gunsmoke’ movies starting in 1987′s ‘Gunsmoke: Return to Dodge.’

Arness is survived by his wife, Janet, two sons and six grandchildren.
