Ashley Judd Graduates UK 17 Years Late

Ashley Judd attends all the University of Kentucky basketball games. Now, she’s actually an alumna.

quote-pic Ashley Judd UK Photo Ashley Judd is now a graduate of the University of Kentucky.

The 39-year-old actress received a bachelor’s degree in French, but it wasn’t clear whether she attended any of Sunday’s graduation ceremonies, UK spokesman Jay Blanton told the Lexington Herald-Leader for a story on its Web site.

Judd attended the university from 1986 to 1990, but left one course shy of graduation. Blanton said student confidentiality laws prevented him from saying how she finally received her degree.

In an interview last year, Judd told the newspaper that she would probably take a correspondence course to finish the one class necessary to get a degree. When she left in 1990, online and correspondence courses weren’t allowed to count toward graduation.

Punch Line 1: “Just think how far she’d have gone if she’d stayed in school!”

Punch Line 2: “You wait long enough, they’ll lower the standards to meet you.”

Punch Line 3 is a less-than-family-friendly conjecture as to how she finally earned those credits. We’ll skip that one.

Sheryl Crow: I Still Love Lance Armstrong

scrow2.jpg

It seems like it’s tell-all week here in Hollywood. First Ashley Judd, then Hilary Swank, and now Sheryl Crow. Boy, these magazines sure know how to get them to splill their guts, no?

Seems Sheryl very much still loves Lance and thinks about him often.

From People:

Sheryl Crow’s breakup with fiancé Lance Armstrong was “devastating,” the singer says in a new interview, adding, “I definitely still love him and always will love him.”

Crow tells Vanity Fair in its August issue, “I do think about Lance every day. And I think about his kids every day.”

She goes on to talk about their breakup and her bout with cancer:

“I actually turned around to make the drive to L.A.,” Armstrong, himself a cancer survivor, tells the magazine. “We talked along the way and she said, ‘You know, I just don’t think that’s a great idea.’ ”

“It was difficult,” says Crow. “I know he wanted to be there. I would have loved for him to have swept in and carried me through.” But ultimately, she says, she realized she had to rely on people who could “really just be there for me all the way through this – emotionally, unconditionally”: her family.

“I still feel bruised,” she tells the magazine. “I still feel really raw and vulnerable – not just from the breakup but the whole experience. … But the nice thing about my job is that there is a catharsis that I get to experience when I play some of this stuff.”

Ashley Judd Was Going Crazy

Judd says she spent 47 days in a Texas treatment facility in February for depression and other emotional problems, in an interview in Glamour magazine. “I needed help,” the 38-year-old actress tells the magazine in its August issue. “I was in so much pain.”

Wow, this was sort of surprising. She seemed like such a self assured strong person. I guess we can’t believe everything we see in Hollywoodland. I’m glad she got help.
