Julianne Hough’s Music Video Banned

Here is the video for Julianne Hough‘s song, ‘Is That So Wrong’, you can judge for yourself and see if you think it’s too sexy and deserves to be banned by CMT because that’s exactly what it is – banned. Well according to her because she says…

“Funny story. I shot a music video for it… and CMT kind of banned it. Apparently I was taking off too many clothes as I was dancing around my bedroom. But I don’t know — I kind of liked it.”

But all is not as it seems, CMT claim that the video isn’t banned for being too sexy and the real reason they pulled the video because of “contract negotiations,” to be honest the only reason I wrote about this is because I wanted to post the video since I think she is hot.

Vintage Ads That Would Be Banned Today

People always talk about how the good old days were the best but I think we all forget that back then advertisers could do anything they wanted. Take a look at these ads that show exactly what I could do.

It definitely paid to be a white man back then, if you were a woman or of any other race then you could guarantee to be used in one of these ads. Also the smoking ads would cause a ton shit of trouble if they were used these days.

Beyonce’s Perfume Commercial Banned From Daytime TV

The ad for Beyonce‘s new fragrance, Heat, has been banned from daytime television in the UK because they think it’s too “sexually provocative” for children.

The Advertising Standards Authority in the UK say the ad, which sees Beyonce wearing a sexy short dress while she walks around singing Fever, is unsuitable for young children who could be watching the TV. A number of people who are no fun called up and complained about the ad so the ASA released a statement saying…

“Beyonce’s body movements and the camera’s prolonged focus on shots of her dress slipping away to partially expose her breasts created a sexually provocative ad that was unsuitable to be seen by young children. We considered that the ad should not have been shown before 7.30pm due to the sexually provocative nature of the imagery.”

Some people have way too much time on their hands to complain over little things like this, the ad isn’t too sexually provocative at all in my opinion. It would be nice to wake up first thing in the morning and see this on the TV. But that’s just my opinion.

Kanye West’s Twitter Rant Over Banned Album Cover

The cover for Kanye West‘s new album,”My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy”, has been banned because it is too graphic. As you would expect from Kanye, he went on his Twitter account and posted the following…

“Yoooo they banned my album cover!!!!! Ima tweet it in a few…”

“Banned in the USA!!! They don’t want me chilling on the couch with my phoenix! http://twitpic.com/2ykxjk”

“In the 70s album covers had actual nudity… It’s so funny that people forget that… Everything has been so commercialized now.”

“In all honesty … I really don’t be thinking about Wal-Mart when I make my music or album covers #Kanyeshrug!”

“I wanna sell albums but not at the expense of my true creativity.”

“So Nirvana can have a naked human being on they cover but I can’t have a PAINTING of a monster with no arms and a polka dot tail and wings”

I don’t know, the album cover isn’t too bad but at the same I can see why it wouldn’t be sold at the likes of Wal-Mart. Either way I can’t wait for the album to come out on November 22nd.

Jessica Simpson’s Father Disses U.S. Troops

A singing ensemble of U.S. combat veterans, the 4T Troops, were allegedly barred by Joe Simpson from performing on TV alongside Jessica Simpson, 30, with a source claiming to Page Six that her team felt their camouflage attire wouldn’t look good on camera next to the decked-out beauty.

Simpson, in New York City with her boyfriend Eric Johnson, was taping a PBS holiday special on Thursday (a broadcast on which she’ll sing tunes from her upcoming album) when the alleged snub occurred.

“Jessica’s dad, Joe Simpson, effectively kicked them off the show because he didn’t like what they were wearing,” says the insider. “They were in camo pants and blazers, the same outfits they wore to sing for Gen. David Petraeus on the USS Intrepid. They were told they couldn’t perform unless they were wearing tuxedos.”

But there are two sides to every skirmish: Jessica Simpson’s spokesperson said the singer is innocent, and would never diss any members of the military.

“The song was cut due to time. Jessica wasn’t even aware. She is wholeheartedly devoted to the troops — she just returned from the Persian Gulf where she performed for, and met with, service men and women stationed at several different locations. Last night, she received a Silver Star Award for her work with AFCEF (Armed Forces Children’s Education Fund).”

“The military was the source of inspiration for her entire Christmas album, so much so that she recorded a duet for the album with a USS Harry Truman sailor.”

Still, backstage witnesses insist that feelings were hurt over what happened. A spokeswoman for the 4T Troops singers — who reportedly “waited six hours until midnight only to be told their number with Jessica had been cut” — said, “Joe [Simpson] should be ashamed of himself.”

One of the singers, former Sgt. Daniel Jens (deployed in Iraq in 2007), said, “I am so disappointed and angry, I threw up when I got back to my room.”

Meanwhile, Simpson does indeed appear to be oblivious to the backstage drama in this happy pic she posted to Twitter followers with the caption: “Eric and I late night after PBS Christmas special…”

Celebrities Banned For Life From Saturday Night Live

I never knew that celebrities got banned for life from appearing on Saturday Night Live but it appears they do because producers, one in particular is Lorne Michaels, get butthurt or are afraid of backlash from the media. Here is a list of people who have been banned from ever appearing on the show again:

Celebrities Banned For Life From Saturday Night Live 01

Louise Lasser

Lasser, who hosted at the end of the first season on July 24, 1976, was the first host banned by the producers. Lasser was said to be going through personal problems at the time and was reportedly nearly incoherent throughout the broadcast.

Celebrities Banned For Life From Saturday Night Live 02

Charles Grodin

Grodin has never been asked back to host after he gave a clumsy performance. In October 1977, on his one appearance on the show, Grodin missed rehearsal, stumbled his way through the show, and ad-libbed many of his lines.

Celebrities Banned For Life From Saturday Night Live 03

Elvis Costello and the Attractions

On December 17, 1977, they performed as a last-minute replacement for the Sex Pistols, who were unable to obtain passports. NBC and the show’s producer Lorne Michaels didn’t want the band to perform “Radio Radio”, since the song protests the state of the media. The band defied them by beginning to play their song “Less Than Zero”, stopping, with Costello telling the audience that there was no reason to do that song, and telling the band to play “Radio Radio” instead. It infuriated Michaels because it put the show off schedule, and the band were barred from performing again. Eventually Lorne Michaels put his grievances aside, lifting the ban, and Elvis Costello would appear as musical guest in 1989 and 1991. He also reprised his performance of “Radio Radio” with the Beastie Boys for a 25th anniversary special aired on September 26, 1999.

Celebrities Banned For Life From Saturday Night Live 04

Frank Zappa

Banned from the show after his hosting stint on October 21, 1978. His distinct sense of humor made him unpopular with the cast and crew. During his performance, he made a habit of reading cue-cards and mugging for the camera, and many cast members (save for John Belushi) deliberately stood far from him during the goodnights.

Celebrities Banned For Life From Saturday Night Live 05

Milton Berle

The April 14, 1979 episode of the show hosted by Berle resulted in him being banned due to his habit of upstaging other performers, overacting, mugging for the camera, insertion of “classic” comedy bits and his maudlin performance of “September Song.” Note: This episode was also barred from rebroadcast for over twenty years until February 2003, when an edited version was shown on E!; it twice aired in full in Canada on The Comedy Network in 2001. Lorne Michaels felt that the broadcast, and Berle in particular, brought the show down.

Celebrities Banned For Life From Saturday Night Live 06

Fear

Banned from playing again after the 1981 Halloween episode. With Donald Pleasence as host, the band played that night by request from Fear fan John Belushi, and they proceeded to play offensive songs (“I Don’t Care About You” and “Beef Balogna” among others) and bus in “dancers”. The band also used obscene language and the dancers destroyed the set with their slam dancing onstage. The situation was out of control to the extent that the damage of studio equipment forced Dave Wilson to end the three-song performance by cutting the audio and video to a commercial as they started to play “Let’s Have a War” .

Celebrities Banned For Life From Saturday Night Live 07

Robert Blake

On November 13, 1982, host Blake was very dissatisfied with the scripts that he received throughout the week. He was barred from ever performing on the show again after he crumpled up a script presented to him by cast member and writer Gary Kroeger and threw it back in his face.

Celebrities Banned For Life From Saturday Night Live 08

Andy Kaufman

A proposed banning of a frequent guest was left in the hands of viewers on November 20, one week later. Kaufman, who had appeared in the very first episode in 1975 and periodically thereafter, was the subject of a viewer poll to decide if Kaufman should be allowed to stay or be banned for life from the show. Viewers had to call a 900 number to cast their vote. They decided to kick him off, and Kaufman never returned to the show. Note: It was actually Kaufman who pitched the idea to Dick Ebersol weeks before, and Ebersol used the idea after he had a fight with Kaufman.

Celebrities Banned For Life From Saturday Night Live 09

The Replacements

The influential alternative group were banned from the show due to their behavior after they appeared on the show on January 18, 1986 to promote their first album with Sire Records, Tim. When it came time for them to perform their first number, “Bastards of Young,” they were intoxicated and several cast members were unsure whether they could perform. Lead singer Paul Westerberg would further aggravate circumstances when he yelled “fuck” to the crowd during “Bastards of Young”. The band went on to perform one more song, “Kiss Me on the Bus”. Note: In subsequent rebroadcasts of this episode, the “fuck” is censored out of “Bastards of Young.” Lead singer Paul Westerberg returned as a solo musical guest and Bassist Tommy Stinson is featured on a playbill during commercial breaks during the most recent season.

Celebrities Banned For Life From Saturday Night Live 10

Steven Seagal

Hosted on April 20, 1991, was also banned from hosting because of his difficulty in working with the cast and crew. Note: They made note of the occasion almost a year and a half later, as during Nicolas Cage’s monologue on September 26, 1992, Nicolas spoke with Lorne backstage, saying, “…they probably think I’m the biggest jerk who’s ever been on the show!” to which Lorne replied, “No, no. That would be Steven Seagal.”

Celebrities Banned For Life From Saturday Night Live 11

Sinéad O’Connor

Banned from appearing on SNL again after her peformance on October 3, 1992. In her second set of the show, she performed an a cappella version of Bob Marley’s “War”. During the word “evil”, she picked up a picture of Pope John Paul II, ripped it up, and shouted, “Fight the real enemy!” Dave Wilson immediately turned off the “applause” cue and the audience reacted with complete silence. NBC received many complaints about this within a matter of minutes. At the end of the show, host Tim Robbins, who was raised Catholic, refused to give O’Connor the customary “thanks” for being the musical guest. Note: To this day, NBC refuses to lend out the footage of the performance to any media outlet, and they edited out the incident from the syndicated version of the episode, replacing it with footage from the dress rehearsal taped earlier in the evening. It was finally released in 2003, with an explanation from Lorne Michaels, on Disc 4 of the Saturday Night Live – 25 Years of Music DVD set.

Celebrities Banned For Life From Saturday Night Live 12

Cypress Hill

Banned from appearing on SNL again after their performance as the musical guest on the October 2, 1993 episode, where DJ Muggs lit up a marijuana joint on-air and the band trashed their instruments after playing their second single “I Ain’t Goin’ Out Like That.”

Celebrities Banned For Life From Saturday Night Live 13

Martin Lawrence

Banned from the show after his opening monologue on the February 19, 1994 episode included comments about female genitalia. Note: The monologue has been edited out in both the network repeats and syndicated version, with just a graphic describing in general what Lawrence had said. The graphic also told viewers that it was a lively monologue and it almost cost many SNL employees their jobs.

Celebrities Banned For Life From Saturday Night Live 14

Chevy Chase

Banned from hosting the show again after the February 15, 1997 episode due to his verbal abuse of the cast and crew during the week. Chase became notorious for his treatment of certain cast members when hosting past episodes, particularly his remarks to openly gay cast member Terry Sweeney. In 1985, Chase suggested that a perfect skit for Sweeney would be one in which he plays an AIDS victim who gets weighed every week. Chase’s abusive behavior during the 1985 episode and other episodes are detailed in the Live From New York: An Uncensored History of Saturday Night Live book. Although Chase was banned from hosting the show in 1997, he appeared on the 25th anniversary special in 1999, was interviewed for the 2005 special Live From New York: The First Five Years of Saturday Night Live, and cameoed in two episodes (one hosted by Bill Murray in 1999 and another hosted by Seann William Scott in 2001). Chase was recently on SNL’s Weekend Update (2007 Season).

Celebrities Banned For Life From Saturday Night Live 15

Adrien Brody

The latest person banned on May 10, 2003. He came out to introduce reggae musician Sean Paul, while wearing Rastafarian attire including faux dreadlocks. Without any prior notice, Brody began rambling in a Jamaican accent for close to 45 seconds before finally introducing the act incorrectly, misannouncing “Sean Paul” as “Sean John.” Michaels is notorious for his dislike of improvisation and unannounced performances, and was furious with Brody for not obtaining clearance before performing this “monologue.”

I guess I can understand why a lot of these were banned.

Chris Brown Banned From The UK Then Cancels Tour

Chris Brown was supposed to launch his Fan Appreciation Tour in the UK in the next few days but that is no longer happening because he has been banned from the UK.

Chris Brown Banned From The UK Then Cancels Tour

Chris received yet another career low blow when the British Home Office denied his visa because he was convicted of beating up Rihanna back in the now infamous 2009 attack. They also released a statement saying…

“We reserve the right to refuse entry to the U.K. to anyone guilty of a serious criminal offence. Public safety is one of our primary concerns. Each application to enter the U.K. is considered on its individual merits.”

Because of this his whole European leg of his tour has now been canceled, doing his best to be his own publicist Chris took to his Twitter account to say…

“SORRY to all the fans in europe!!! my tour is cancelled, Im pretty sure yall know. my entry was denied in your country. i love you.SORRY!!”

Now that his European tour has been canceled maybe Chris Brown can go get some lessons in geography because Europe is not a country. Oh and just for shits and giggles, Rihanna just finished up a sold out tour in the UK and rest of Europe.

Lady GaGa Bans Dancers Having Sex

Well here’s a self note to myself – never be a dancer on tour for Lady GaGa because she has put a no sex ban on all her dancers while on tour.

Lady GaGa Bans Dancers Having Sex

Apparently she wants her dancers to be 100% committed to her and her show so that means they are not allowed have sex with anybody for the remainder of the tour. A source said….

“She has made it quite clear to all her dancers they are not allowed to have sex while the tour is still going. She won’t be happy if she finds out any of them have broken the rules and it’s likely they wouldn’t be asked back. She wants them to give 100% on stage so she doesn’t want them wasting energy on bedtime action. In saucy routines during the show she pretends to have sex with some of the dancers and wants these bits to look as real as possible. She’s a perfectionist and wants every aspect of the tour just right. She’s told her dancers they are married to her so they need to fully commit to the touring every way she requests.”

I feel very sorry for her dancers, there is not a chance in hell I would stick with any job if they asked me not to have sex. Especially if I was touring the world and seeing about 100 women in the audience who I would like to take back to my hotel room. If this is indeed true then Lady GaGa truly is insane.

The Banned Lane Bryant Ad (Video)

ABC is issuing a “fat”-war against full-figured models, plus-size label Lane Bryant says.

The Disney-owned network refused to air the brand’s lingerie ad during its hit show “Dancing with the Stars,” saying it bared too much cleavage, a Lane Bryant insider said.

And Lane Bryant thinks the net’s executives are a bunch of prejudiced boobs.

“The cleavage of the plus-size models, they said, was excessive, and we don’t think that’s the case,” said the source.

“It certainly appears to be discrimination against full-sized women.”

Lane Bryant had been set to launch its campaign for Cacique, its new lingerie line, during “Dancing” this week.

After the ad was pulled, the company posted the too-sexy-for-TV spot on its Web site yesterday.

In it, a pleasantly plump model gracefully shows off her curves before the camera in a slew of sexy poses.

“Mom always said beauty is skin deep,” a voice-over says. “Somehow, I don’t think this is what Mom had in mind.”

Lane Bryant said Fox, too, had originally balked at showing the ad on “American Idol.”

But a Lane Bryant insider noticed that a sexy Victoria’s Secret lingerie spot starring a skinny model had been slotted for “Idol” Tuesday night and complained about a double standard. That caused Fox to change its tune, the source said.

Fox bristled at the notion it gave Lane Bryant a hard time, saying it is set to air the ad during Wednesday’s “American Idol.”

“We didn’t treat them any differently than Victoria’s Secret,” a Fox spokesman said.

A rep for ABC declined to comment.

Fox had asked Lane Bryant to flash less flesh, the source said. But the label said no.

Both networks had a first glimpse of the disputed ad last month from Lane Bryant execs.

“They sent the storyboards in late March to Fox to approve. Fox rejected them, saying it was too racy, too risqué,” the source said.

“We said, ‘Wait a minute. It’s no more racy or risqué than the Victoria’s Secret ads you’re running!’ They rejected them again, said, ‘No, no, no, edit things out!’ “

If the label had heeded Fox’s suggestions, the spot would have shown the model’s face — and virtually nothing else.

Silliness… I’ve seen more cleavage on Pamela Anderson wearing her costumes.

Pamela Anderson Commercial Banned For Being Too Sexy

A new commercial featuring Pamela Anderson in some office fantasy type thing has been banned from Australian TV because they think it is too sexy.

The commercial shows Pamela playing a suited up businesswoman in a boardroom meeting, when one of the guys gets bored and starts imagining her and the other girl in bikinis dancing with milk.

The commercial is for website hosting company Crazy Domains, but none of the viewers took too kindly to it which resulted in the ban.

Fiona Jolly, president of Advertising Standards Bureau, said “It’s meant to be a cheeky, over-the-top depiction, but in the bureau’s view it did cross the line.”

I don’t even find Pamela Anderson hot anymore — but this is a pretty hot ad, I’m sick of people getting all upset over a bit of sex.

Ryan O’Neal Bans Son, Griffin From Farrah Fawcett’s Funeral

Even though Griffin drove 300 miles to pay his respects, Ryan O’Neal specifically requested his son be banned from the funeral.

When asked about his reasoning, Ryan would only suggest that his son is a “bad guy.”

Despite his father’s intentions, Griffin believes that Farrah would be upset to know he wasn’t allowed to attend her funeral.

10 Ads That Bared It All

Sex sells. It’s the oldest truism of marketing. But is it true? Not always. Here’s the 10 most eye-popping campaigns: the ads so likable and clever that they make even a reserved feminist laugh, or the ads so demeaning they make even the goofiest frat boy cringe. [CAUTION! Several racy photos, including some bare backsides follow.]

1. PETA

Alicia Silverstone and Eva Mendes
When Alicia Silverstone stepped naked out of a swimming pool for People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals, to boast in 2007 that she’d given up meat, Comcast Cable in Houston declined to run the 30-second spot. Eva Mendes also went nude for PETA that year, with a moony campaign of her own: “Fur? I’d rather go naked.”

2. Nike

“Bear Butte” Running Camp
A funny spot for Nike’s Free 5.0 running shoes, featuring buff runners wearing nothing but Nikes, was a viral smash this year. (Butts were visible; naughtier bits were digitally blurred.) One advertising critic did a double-take, saying, “The company isn’t as humorless as many of us thought.”

3. Air New Zealand

Body Paint
If an airline asked its baggage handlers and flight attendants to appear on TV with their clothing painted on their bare bodies, would that be exploitative? Not if the CEO gets naked too. Air New Zealand shows off a sense of humor (and “nothing to hide”) in its latest campaign. DailyFinance critic Sarah Gilbert gives it high marks for being catchy and sweet.

4. Chevrolet

The Naked Cowboy
Why was Chevrolet’s Super Bowl spot for its HHR wagon so lame? Was it the pointless nude-male car wash? Or not enough of Times Square’s delightful Naked Cowboy? Or maybe the fact that Chevy was hoping to excite viewers about a car that nobody cared about then, and that nobody’s heard of since? We’ll check D, for “all of the above.”

5. Starbucks

The Original Mermaid Logo
Back in the Age of Aquarius, Starbucks was a hole-in-the-wall coffeehouse, and its mermaid mascot might as well have been a hippie, flopping around a Woodstock mud puddle. By 2008, Starbucks was a flailing global corporation, and reintroducing its vintage mascot was met with indifference by some and hostility by others.

6. Lush

Employees’ Aprons-only Attire
Hip British cosmetics chain Lush prides itself on the fact that its soap has no packaging. And neither, apparently, do its employees, who are encouraged periodically to show they have nothing to lose but their aprons. As effective a sales tool as a bare bottom might be, it’s an even more effective way to promote your brand.

7. Calvin Klein

Obsession Billboards
Long before unveiling this month’s startling threesome — or is it foursome? — above a Manhattan intersection (not shown), the bad-boy designer was notorious for stylish, salacious outdoor and magazine campaigns for Obsession cologne. That the images are of women (clearly depicted in the throes of passion for Obsession-scented men) reveals a target largely comprising young single men. But its appeal is objectifying and humorless. It’s about sex, and nothing else.

8. JCPenney

Dress Rehearsal
Two sweaty, horny teens in their respective bedrooms, wrestling into their clothes as fast as they could, to practice getting caught in the act? It didn’t look like a JCPenney ad — and, as it turns out, it wasn’t. The spot that got the Cannes critics hot and heavy was created by a renegade producer who (in a not-so-shocking turn of events), is no longer working for Penney’s ad agency.

9. Burger King

Flame Body Spray
As its increasingly creepy ad campaign tried pushing barriers, Burger King blurred the lines between real life and satire by marketing a cheap scent, claiming (falsely) that it smelled like their flagship brand. The presence of the eerie mascot was even more unappealing than usual, no thanks to a lack of either clothes or inhibitions. A Web site called “A Hamburger Today” reviewed the fragrance and reports that it smells nothing like a hamburger.

10. Burton Snowboards

Going Downhill Fast
Young men looking at pictures of nude women? Traditional. Young men standing on pictures of nude women while they bellow and slalom down a freshly powdered mountainside? Not so traditional — and not too tasteful, either. But Vermont-based snowboard company Burton remains unapologetic for its softcore boards and plans to make more.
