A four-time convicted burglar gets sentenced to six years in prison for his latest crime — stealing $20 from a toddler’s piggy bank.
Prosecutors say he broke into a home in August 2007 and stole the money from a 2-year-old girl’s piggy bank while she slept in her room.

It’s no secret that magazines and other media outlets use Photoshop to make their cover models look “just so,” but is lightening or color correcting a photograph the same as completely changing the way a person looks?
Is this practice of over-photoshopping contributing to damaged body images of Americans?
W Magazine turned a golden goddess Kate Hudson into the ice queen on its September 2008 cover. W is claiming that the image is an actual photograph of Kate Hudson. We’re sure it is, but it looks like the photo editors glossed it over and slicked it up in Photoshop. The image also bears an uncanny resemblance to photographer Patrick Demarchelier’s 1994 Harper’s Bazaar cover photograph of Nadja Auermann. So perhaps W is guilty of more than just changing someone’s face. Way to be creative … stealing someone else’s idea and using it on one of your biggest issues of the year.
Caution: Objects may be larger than they appear. In this case it appears that Seventeen magazine used Photoshop to place Miley Cyrus‘ head on a smaller body. Does this petite 15-year-old really need to appear smaller? It also looks as if they elongated her front teeth and somehow inverted her arms. Or did they do that pose on purpose? That must have been an uncomfortable photo shoot.
Funnyman Dane Cook has recently been complaining about the movie posters for his ssoon-to-be-released flick ‘My Best Friend’s Girl.’ A few of Cook’s complaints are: “The left side of my face seems to be melting off of my skull. It looks like I’m wearing Maybelline Water Shine Diamonds Liquid Lipstick. It’s no secret that I’m more rugged facially due to a drunken visit by the teen acne fairy, but according to this poster I’ve got perfect porcelain flesh.” You missed one Dane: where is the scar on your eyebrow?
Jennifer Love Hewitt was splashed on the cover of US Weekly showing off her 18-pound weight loss, claiming that she lost the weight in 10 weeks. Skeptics are saying Jen used the “Photoshop diet” to shed those pounds. Bloggers have been calling her a hypocrite after her statement when she defended her weight gain on her website: “I know what I look like, and so do my friends and family. And like all women out there should, I love my body.To all girls with butts, boobs, hips and a waist, put on a bikini — put it on and stay strong. XoxoJLH”.
On her new album cover, singer and actress Jennifer Hudson seems to have melted away at the midriff. Jennifer has refused to comment on her new cover.
Ukrainian actress and model Milla Jovovich is not the 13-year-old model she used to be. Can someone please tell Lucky magazine that it’s OK to look your age?
In its September 2008 issue, Elle decided to chop up (lumberjack) Jessica Simpson for the cover. It appears as if the editors chipped away at her waist and part of her left thigh and buttocks. They somehow also made her hair as wide as her hips.
James Franco is glowing on the September cover of GQ. What exactly makes a man glow like that?
Michelle Obama has discovered the fountain of youth. On this month’s cover of Ebony she doesn’t have a single line on her face. Her skin is so beautiful anyway, there was no need to make it unnatural.
Teen Vogue allowed Vanessa Hudgens to look her age on its September cover. She looks natural and very much like herself. There is some shadowing underneath her eyes in the photo on the right, but that’s nothing that a fill light wouldn’t take care of. We think this cover is the least Photoshopped of the month.
At first we thought this was a photo of Mischa Barton’s wax figure on Marie Claire’s UK cover, because apparently her skin has a shiny plastic coating.
‘Gossip Girl’s’ Blake Lively has reportedly been unhappy with recent magazine photographs, but we think she looks beautiful on the September 2008 cover of Cosmopolitan. Her hair is wider than her hips, too, but nonetheless.
Harper’s Bazaar might have made a few minor changes, but Tyra Banks still has it. She even looks great under the glare of flash bulbs (picture at right). The former professional model still knows what she is doing.
We’re comparing the ad to a more recent photo of Beyonce from May 6th. Her skin tone does appear lighter with blond hair than dark brown, but not that light. This week Essence magazine published the same ad from L’Oreal with a much darker-skinned starlet.
Tiny sleeping beauties Knox Leon and Vivienne Marcheline were recently splashed across the covers of two mags, People and Hello. Skeptics are claiming the smiling infants were Photoshopped. They argue that babies do not typically smile from external stimulation until they are 2 to 4 months old. The millions paid by the magazines to the couple to secure the rights to the photos went to the pair’s charity foundation.

Blake Lively graces the cover of three magazines this month — but the Gossip Girl starlet isn’t too happy about one of them, according to Page Six.
“Her Vanity Fair and Cosmopolitan covers are great, but her camp is not thrilled about her Seventeen cover,” a source said. “Her rep felt the Seventeen photo looked nothing like Blake.”
Lively’s rep confirmed that she called Seventeen about the matter, but insisted that the actress hadn’t seen the photos yet.
The photo does remind me a bit of Drew Barrymore in the movie Firestarter.
Blake Lively, who stars in the book-based TV series Gossip Girl, and has appeared in several films including Accepted and The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants, demonstrates how to exit a vehicle, only showing just a little.

People magazine has issued a “sneak peek” into their 100 Most Beautiful People issue and I have to ask… are they saving the best for last? Rumer Willis?
KATE HUDSON
She’s on the cover of this year’s Most Beautiful issue, but Hudson doesn’t owe her famous sun-kissed looks to thousands of hours logged at a spa. “I don’t even remember the last time I got a manicure,” says the 29-year-old mom to son Ryder, 4. “I even got to the point where I started waxing my own legs because I don’t have the time. I’d rather be home with Ryder sitting there waxing my legs. I haven’t gotten a facial in a million years. I don’t do those kinds of things. And when I do, I always think, ‘I should do this more often.’”
SALMA HAYEK
The new mom is beautiful inside and out, having signed on as ambassador for a Pampers/UNICEF program that provides tetanus shots to babies and mothers in developing countries. (Every pack of diapers with a UNICEF logo sold pays for one shot.) “You give them the vaccine, they don’t die,” says Hayek, 41. “It’s not just about creating a better world for my daughter, Valentina, but also being more passionate about diminishing the suffering of women and children all over the world.”
MARY J. BLIGE
“I’m at my most beautiful when I’m in a good mood, not dealing with any drama, and feeling healthy,” says the singer, 37. But when she wants to get glam in a pinch, Blige has a quick beauty tip. “I put on eyeliner and mascara and some liner on my mouth and some gloss in the middle, and that’s the perfect five-minute face.”
RUMER WILLIS
“I grew up with a mom that most moms don’t look like,” says the 19-year-old star of the summer comedy The House Bunny. But with a little help from mom Demi Moore, and a some experimentation, she’s finding her own way: “There’s a cool Korean spa my mom found in L.A. I go with my best friend, [Gossip Girl's] Jessica Szohr. That and getting my nails done are my biggest indulgences.”
SARAH SILVERMAN
“It sounds corny, but when I’m with my comedian friends, I just feel good. I’m lucky because I feel way more beautiful than I really am,” says the comic, 37. And although she, ahem, “paired up” with Matt Damon, Silverman’s still going strong with boyfriend Jimmy Kimmel. “Thank God for Jimmy, because all the things I don’t like about myself are the things that he likes the most. Like my inner-thigh fat. He grabs it and he’s like, ‘I love this!’ ”
CHRISTINA APPLEGATE
The 36-year-old actress admits to a new beauty addiction that she picked up on the set of her hit comedy, Samantha Who?. “They airbrush my makeup on,” she says. “Now I don’t want to do anything without that – it’s quick and it’s good. I want to get out of the makeup chair as soon as possible. I’m so low-maintenance.”
EVA LONGORIA & TONY PARKER
They’re one of PEOPLE’s Most Beautiful couples, but the Desperate Housewife – known for her knockout red-carpet appearances – looks the best when she’s low-key, according to her husband. Putting a cute spin on it, the NBA star says, “I like her best in jeans, a T-shirt and Hugs.” Says Longoria Parker, “He means Uggs.”
ISLA FISHER
Her fiery locks aren’t just a signature style – for Fisher, 32, they also provide a convenient excuse! “It was great having red hair as a kid because I had something to blame my temper on,” the Aussie actress says. “Now I go for the same color palette as Conan O’Brien. I did dye it blonde once, but it backfired, as I had nothing to blame my temper on!”
AMANDA BEARD
“To look good in the water, you have to pick the right swimsuit,” advises the gold-medal Olympic swimmer, 26. “I own close to 500.” And that’s not her only tip for a pretty poolside look: “I wear makeup in the water. I always wear a waterproof mascara, Maybelline Volume Express. All my makeup is waterproof, even my concealer.”
THE GOSSIP GIRL CAST
Onscreen, they are gorgeous, scheming, backstabbing high schoolers. Off-screen, Blake Lively, Chace Crawford, Ed Westwick, Jessica Szohr, Penn Badgley, Leighton Meester and Taylor Momsen (clockwise from bottom) are still gorgeous but somewhat kinder to one another. “I assure you,” says Badgley, “we are all fun and charming as hell.”
JULIANNE MOORE
The natural redhead says that when she was younger, she hated her flame-red hair. “Nobody likes being different as a kid. In first grade kids called me Freckleface Strawberry – it was a drink mix. It is also the title of my children’s book,” says Moore, 47. Recently she dyed her hair blonde for the upcoming film Blindness. “It was fun for two days, then I started to hate it. I spent all my life wishing for different color hair, but now I felt too weird to enjoy it. The minute the movie wrapped, I changed it back.”
JASON TAYLOR
If he hasn’t already taken enough ribbing from his Miami Dolphins teammates about his elegant moves on Dancing with the Stars, more is on the way. “This article will be plastered in the locker room,” predicts the 6′6″ Taylor. But the defensive end, 33, is taking the jokes in stride: “In the guy world, it’s a sign of respect. I’d be more worried if they didn’t tease me.”
VANESSA HUDGENS
“I grew up in the business, so I was used to putting on makeup every day,” says the 19-year-old star of the High School Musical movies, who went without makeup for her PEOPLE photo shoot. “Just recently I’ve learned to be okay with myself without wearing makeup. I think it was a special someone telling me that I didn’t need it. I started taking care of my skin and realized I didn’t need as much as I thought I did.”
TAYLOR SWIFT
“I have blonde eyelashes and blonde eyebrows, so my typical insecurity is that my eyes go away when I don’t have makeup on,” says the Grammy-nominated country singer, 19, who also went makeup-free for her PEOPLE shoot. “But it’s important to be comfortable with who you are and go natural once in a while.”
ZOË SALDAÑA
“I feel self-conscious when I have makeup on. It just doesn’t feel like it’s part of me,” says the actress, 29, who didn’t wear any for her PEOPLE shoot. “I feel my most confident when I am at my most natural. However, I do have my days when I really want to do something dramatic, whether it be really dark, dark eyes or dark lipstick. I love red lipstick.”
JESSICA ALBA & CASH WARREN
“[Pregnancy is] the most beautiful thing that can happen to you,” Alba says, admitting that she has a bit of a “glow.” “Everything in my face is puffed up. I have the face of a teenager! I feel like I’m 16 again.” Even Warren says he’s gotten in on the action, admitting, “I don’t know if it’s as much of a pregnancy glow as kind of a barbecue-grease glow. I’ve gained probably about 10 pounds.”
CARRIE UNDERWOOD
The Grammy-winning beauty, 25, admits that she still gets nervous on the red carpet. “I feel more beautiful when I see the pictures after. I’m like, ‘I wish I had felt like I looked like that when I was actually there.’”

FHM magazine has comprised a list of the 100 Hottest Women of Hollywood. No real news value, just some good eye candy to ease your way into Friday. 100 women received almost 10 million votes ranking their levels.

Keira Knightley is 10th place on list and sir…I demand a recount. This woman is gorgeous from head to toe and could drink us all under the table while telling a dirty joke about a Rabbi. She almost makes me think twice about the lesbian option.

Blake Lively took the number 9 spot. Typical blonde girl next door who you don’t realize is banging hot until she gets gussied up for prom. Same thing for Tricia Hefler. Hefler scored the 8th rung on the ladder. I know…Tricia who? She is space hotness on “Battlestar Galactica.” Eh, she has a weird gum to teeth ratio when she smiles. Meanwhile, 7th place was given to Hilary Duff. It must have been a pity thing. Duff strikes me as total bitch whose movies go from post production to the dollar bin at Wal-Mart.

Emmanuelle Chriqui came in on the 6th spot thanks to her role as Sloan on “Entourage.” She is like this level of hot that is demur but can turn into a total minx at a moments notice. The rack of Scarlett Johansson rounded out the top 5. Yeah, big knockers always tend to climb their way to the top.

Elisha Cuthbert finally gets some love after out-hotting Scarlett. She just radiates pretty girl appeal at number 4. Cuthbert also has an approachable factor, unlike some aforementioned divas who will pimp-slap you for getting to close to their snack table.

Ugh, yes Jessica Alba and her high maintenance ass made it to the 3rd position. Bitch…enough said. Another Jessica, who is more tolerable, took the number 2 slot. Jessica Biel, who is currently bedding Justin Timberlake, made her way to the top.
Drum roll for the number 1 spot….

Megan Fox is the hottest of the hot. The Transformers vixen who tolerated Shia LaBeouf making eyes at her goodies tops the list and dethrones last year’s winner, Jessica Alba. This woman is now my queen.

“Gossip Girl” premiered last night on the CW as the latest teenage drama series, starring Blake Lively (previously seen in “Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants”). When the cast was asked if they’d like to share any Hollywood gossip they’ve become privy to since joining Gossip Girl, one young member noted: “I’d like to punch Zac Efron in the face.”
Hmmmmm. What did Zac do to you, mystery actress? If anyone actually gets to punch Zac in the face, I think it’s Vanessa Hudgens, just in case he had anything to do with the release of those scandalous nake photos.

Amber Tamblyn had her own TV show once upon a time, the long gone Joan of Arcadia, and now she has a part in The Grudge 2.

Amber Rose Tamblyn (born May 14, 1983) is an Emmy-nominated American actress and poet, best known for her role on the television series, Joan of Arcadia, and in the 2005 film The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants.
Tamblyn was born in Santa Monica, California, the daughter of actor Russ Tamblyn and musician/writer Bonnie Murray. At the age ten, she played Pippi Longstocking at the Santa Monica Alternative School House; her father’s agent, Sharon Debord, was attending as a family friend and ended up convincing her father to allow Tamblyn to go on auditions.
Tamblyn was cast as Emily Bowen (later known as Emily Quartermaine) on the soap opera General Hospital, a role which she played for six years (from 1995 to 2001). She also appeared in the films Rebellious and Johnny Mysto: Boy Wizard (both co-starring her father), as well as in Live Nude Girls (1995) and in the opening scene of the 2002 horror film, The Ring. Tamblyn also made a number of guest appearances on several television shows, including Buffy the Vampire Slayer, in which she played Janice Penshaw, the best friend of Dawn Summers, as well as Boston Public, CSI: Miami, and Punk’d (after being tricked by Ashton Kutcher or his crew members for losing someone else’s dog).
Tamblyn became well known for playing Joan Girardi, a teenage girl who receives frequent visits from God, on the CBS drama series Joan of Arcadia, a role which earned her a Golden Globe and Emmy nomination; Tamblyn’s father made several appearances on the show, which ran from 2003 to 2005.
Tamblyn’s first major film role was in 2005’s well-reviewed The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants, alongside Alexis Bledel, America Ferrera and Blake Lively. She portrayed Tabitha “Tibby” Tomko-Rollins, a girl who intended to become an independent documentary filmmaker, while the rest of her friends - played by Bledel, Ferrera and Lively - leave for the summer, leaving her alone.
Tamblyn’s next major film will be The Grudge 2, a sequel to The Grudge. The film, which also stars Sarah Michelle Gellar, is currently in post-production and will be released on October 13, 2006. Tamblyn has also signed on to star in Spring Breakdown, a Spring break-themed comedy also featuring Amy Poehler and Rachel Dratch. source
