Christina Aguilera has canceled her entire 20 date summer tour that was scheduled to begin in July. Live Nation (the tour’s promoter) issued the following statement:
“Christina Aguilera’s summer tour has been moved to 2011 due to prior commitments that the singer had made to her film, ‘Burlesque,’ and to the promotion of her new album, ‘Bionic.’ The singer felt she needed more time to rehearse the show and with less than a month between the album release and tour dates this wasn’t possible.”
Yeah, I’m sure that’s the reason. Could it have actually been because her new single “Not Myself Tonight” is an abysmal failure, and her video for the song has been called a ripoff of Lady Gaga and Madonna?
Aguilera is working on her feature film debut alongside Cher in the movie “Burlesque“. Hopefully it’ll be better than Mariah Carey‘s utter flop “Glitter“.

I thought it was a bit strange when I seen the pictures of Mel B hanging around with Lindsay Lohan at an after party for her burlesque show which is called Peepshow.

You may recall the pictures I posted of Scary Spice performing in her lingerie and showing off her ass in the show which takes place at the Las Vegas Planet Hollywood Hotel and Casino.
Well, if new reports are to be believed she could soon be joined by Lindsay who was flown from Los Angeles over the weekend to see the show and meet with the director Jerry Mitchell.
The show is supposed to have rotating leads but if true, Mel B intends to stay after her three-month contract has expired. So where does Lindsay fall into all of this? Kelly Monaco, who plays a character called Bo Peep, wants to leave the show and go back to working on General Hospital.
A source said “people forget that she (Lohan) is a “triple threat” — she can act and sing and dance. She feels that this would really revitalize her career and give her some serious theater cred.”
Lindsay herself said “if they make me an offer, and the money’s right, I’ll do it.”
Lindsay Lohan could have some competition for the role though, she is up against Holly Madison and Brooke Burke. So who would you like to see join Mel B in the show?

Well look what we have here – Mel B sexing it up as she performs at a burlesque show in Las Vegas.

The former Scary Spice put on a lot of sexy lingerie and revealing costumes as she performed at her latest gig called Peepshow at the Las Vegas Planet Hollywood Hotel and Casino.
Mel stars as Peep Diva in the show with Kelly Monaco (who is also a former Dancing With The Stars contestant), in it she guides Monaco’s character Bo Peep on a journey of “self-discovery and sexual awakening.”
Speaking about the show and her new role Mel said “I’m coming out as a solo artist next year, I feel this show is putting me back in an arena that I’m most comfortable in and love doing most, which is performing and entertaining on stage. This is an original show. This part is great for me. As a Spice Girl I would bring guys on the stage and whip them, so I think I’ve always been slightly naughty.”
Hmm I might just have to check this show out when I get to Las Vegas next time so I can see Mel B parade around in these outfits.

Dita Von Teese is burlesque’s brightest star, and she gave Bizarre an exclusive, tantalizing peek behind the feathers, glitter and sequins of her world.
Which classic burlesque stars do you take inspiration from?
“Most of my inspiration comes from 1930s and 40s musicals. I started performing burlesque in 1991, but back then it was nearly impossible to find authentic, vintage burlesque footage. Instead, I took inspiration from the big Technicolor musicals and movies that depicted burlesque, including Lady Of Burlesque, Gypsy, and Dance, Girl, Dance. I also read a lot about classic burlesque stars, and made up what I thought burlesque was like – which was good, because that helped me form my own style, rather than mimicking someone else’s.”
What’s been your most embarrassing moment while performing?
“Well, it’s pretty embarrassing when I can’t get part of my costume off, or when one of my props malfunctions and I have to figure out how to work around it. I just hope no one notices!”
What do you love most about doing your burlesque act?
“I love the creative side; making a show and watching it slowly come together. Every new number has its own challenges, and I love that moment when it finally feels right and it becomes fun to perform.
Almost every new act makes me panic. I usually spend $60,000 to $75,000 in creating an act, and I often end up wondering what the hell I’ve got myself into.
When I made the MAC Viva Glam show with the bucking, spinning lipstick, there was that first moment when we flipped the switch and watched it go completely wild. I remember thinking, “Oh good Lord, what have I done? I’m going to get bucked off. This is impossible…â€
And I did get bucked off, and it was a nightmare to make it work, but when it finally came together it was the most fun I’ve ever had, and people went crazy for it. So I love the process of creating something new, and the challenge of making something come to fruition.” [See the source for the entire interview.]
