Dennis Quaid admits his “biggest mistake” was his addiction to cocaine and candidly writes about his struggle in a Newsweek article.
Quaid, who stars in this month’s ‘Soul Surfer,’ reveals he was introduced to the drug when he moved from Houston to LA in 1974. “It was very casual at first,” he says of his drug use. “That’s what people were doing when they were at parties. Cocaine was even in the budgets of movies, thinly disguised.”
“It was supplied, basically, on movie sets because everyone was doing it,” he continues. “People would make deals. Instead of having a cocktail, you’d have a line.”
Quaid says his drug use contributed to his inability to handle his new fame and he essentially turned into a different person.
“I was doing my best imitation of an asshole there for a little while, trying to pretend everything was OK,” he reveals. “Meanwhile my life was falling apart, and I noticed it myself, but I was hoping everyone else didn’t.”
He adds that the addiction began taking over his life, even though he desperately tried to get everything under control.
“I’d wake up, snort a line, and swear I wasn’t going to do it again that day. But then 4 o’clock rolled around, and I’d be right back down the same road like a little squirrel on one of those treadmills,” he writes.
After his band, the Eclectics, broke up after a “crazy” show, Quaid realized it was time to make a change.
“I had one of those white-light experiences that night where I kind of realized I was going to be dead in five years if I didn’t change my ways. The next day I was in rehab,” he writes.
Although he was fueled by drugs in the ’80s, Quaid admits his recovery shaped him into who he is today.
“That time in my life — those years in the ’90s recovering — actually chiseled me into a person. It gave me the resolve and a resilience to persevere in life. If I hadn’t gone through that period, I don’t know if I’d still be acting. In the end, it taught me humility. I really learned to appreciate what I have in this life.”

According to author Neil Strauss, currently doing the promotional rounds for his tome, ‘Everybody Loves You When You’re Dead: Journeys Into Fame And Madness’, the Hole singer considered snorting the ashes of her late husband, Nirvana frontman Kurt Cobain.
Speaking to Radaronline, Strauss said, “She walked to a dresser, pulled open a drawer, and removed a square-shaped tin,” Strauss said. “She removed the lid, revealing a plastic bag full of white ashes.”
Strauss claims that Love then said, “Too bad you don’t do coke. Otherwise I’d suggest taking a metal straw to it.”
He declined the offer, telling the troubled singer, “‘I don’t think that would be the right thing to do,” to which she replied, ‘I’d like to though.’”
He continued, “She was serious when she made the suggestion. She actually said she would offer his ashes to me first to snort and then said she would like them.”
It seems like Mike ‘The Situation’ Sorrentino has watched the ending scene of Cruel Intentions a little too many times because he has apparently been caught snorting cocaine from his coke chain.
The Fork Party took these photos and video from last weeks episode of Jersey Shore in which The Situation robbed Pauly D’s ex-girlfriend and started getting freaky with her on the dancefloor. But it seems he was doing a bit more than just dancing.
While getting down on the dancefloor The Situation decided to examine his necklace with his nose and also gave the girl a little sniff of it, after that they both wiped their nose. Some people could say it’s coincidence and they both just have a runny nose but I’m willing to bet that they were indeed doing a bit of coke. Thoughts?
Angelina Jolie did an interview for the Charlie Rose show back in 2000 to promote “Girl, Interrupted” and now her former drug dealer says that she was on cocaine the whole time.
Watch the video above and it’s pretty obvious that she is definitely after doing a bit of coke before the interview, especially at the beginning you can see she is out of it. Now as we all know Angelina has not been shy about shooting up with heroin in the past so I’m kind of confused why her former dealer is coming forward now.
Franklin Meyer, her dealer, says “We’d see each other two to three times a week when she was in town. She would buy cocaine and also heroin, she would generally spend about $100 each time — that would buy maybe half a gram of coke and a 10th of a gram of heroin. She would snort the cocaine and the heroin in front of me. It didn’t seem to matter to her who else was there.”
Apparently the pair met back in 1997 at the Chelsea Hotel and that is when he became her dealer on a regular basis. He also says she had pictures of dead bodies up on her wall.
None of this shocks me, I don’t know why magazines would even pay a dealer money to be told crap like this. We all know that she loves drugs already.

In case you don’t know him – Danny Dyer is an English actor, well he has written his autobiography “Danny Dyer: Straight Up” and in it he talks about how he has always and probably always will take drugs.
The 33-year-old father of two says that he will continue taking drugs as long as it does not affect his work or his family life, and he is unashamed about his drug habits. He writes…
“I’ve always taken drugs and I probably always will, but there’s a difference between having the odd crafty bump up the snout as a reward for a job well done and letting it rule your life. You can’t brush it under the carpet and try and pretend it doesn’t happen, because it does happen. It happens all over the world every night, millions and millions of people.”
I’m not going to make judgments on him for doing drugs but he probably shouldn’t be writing this type of stuff in a book that children, especially his kids when they grow up, could easily pick up and think doing drugs is fine.

Natalie Mejiam, one of the singers from Girlicious, got busted for cocaine possession back in March but her court case has only happened now and as predicted she got off with it.
When she was pulled over, along with a guy named Peter Asencio, she was found to be carrying more than a dozen individual packages in her purse so they were both arrested for possession of coke.
When she appeared in court she pled guilty to drug felony charges but the judge has let her off with it and she has received no punishment at all. The only thing she has to do is stay out of trouble for the next 18 months and then the charge will be wiped from her record.
It must feel good to be a celebrity and know that you can basically do anything and get off with it.

Lindsay Lohan could soon be back behind bars because her probation has just been revoked and a judge has released a bench warrant for her arrest because she recently failed her drug test after testing positive for cocaine.
Judge Elden Fox released the warrant for her arrest but he has placed it on hold until Friday at 8:30 AM because she has been ordered to appear in court. She might spend 30 days in jail.
In other news TMZ also say that Lindsay failed two drug tests, one we know is cocaine and the other one we now know is for amphetamines.
I feel like a law student who’s also majoring in sniffing coke today because all day I’ve been reading about is celebrities being arrested and doing the white stuff.
It was judgment day for Paris Hilton today as she appeared before a judge in Las Vegas regarding her arrest last month on cocaine possession and as everyone expected – she escaped going to jail.
Paris stood before a judge and pleaded guilty to drug possession and obstructing an officer, instead of being told she was heading to the slammer she was given 200 hours of community service and a $2,000 fine.
She was also handed a year of probation and must complete and intensive substance abuse program. The judge warned that if she is arrested again, for anything other than a minor traffic violation, in the next year then she will be serving one year at the Clark County Detention Center.
The judge then said “The Clark County Detention Center is not the Waldorf Astoria.” I like this judge for cracking a joke but I don’t like him for basically letting her off with it. I was hoping to see her being sent to the chokey.

The other day TMZ said that Lindsay Lohan failed one of her drug tests when she tested positive for cocaine, she denied this and said “they’re all nuts.” She has since changed her tune and admitted she did fail it.
Lindsay did something that she has never done in her life… she decided to go on her Twitter page and finally admit that she messed up. In a bunch of tweets she said…
“Regrettably, I did in fact fail my most recent drug test and if I am asked, I am prepared to appear before judge Fox next week as a result. Substance abuse is a disease, which unfortunately doesn’t go away over night. I am working hard to overcome it and am taking positive steps forward every day. I am testing every single day and doing what I must do to prevent any mishaps in the future. This was certainly a setback for me but I am taking responsibility for my actions and I’m prepared to face the consequences. I am so thankful for the support of my fans, loved ones and immediate family, who understand that i am trying hard, but also that I am a work in progress, just as anyone else. I am keeping my faith, and I am hopeful….Thank you all!!!”
Well it’s about time that she admits to being wrong, I’m actually shocked she did. But then again it’s Lindsay Lohan she was probably high the whole time.

Ryan Simkin, a former ‘Girls Gone Wild’ cameraman, wrote a tell-all book, and GGW founder Joe Francis has sued to stop its release.
In the court proceedings, an interesting passage from the book surfaced alleging that Paris Hilton smuggled drugs in a Camel cigarette box hidden in a private place, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Simkin writes that Francis once ordered him to deliver a box of cocaine and ecstasy to Hilton before a trip to Europe:
“I asked if she was flying private, and she said, ‘No, commercial.’ And then as politely as I could, I asked her how she planned on traveling with that amount of blow and X. She held the box in her right hand, and then with an underhand swoop like a lower case J, she demonstrated exactly how she intended to beat airport security. She even whistled as she did it. A little alley-oop with the Camel Box, straight up her snatch. Classic.”

Hilton is scheduled for arraignment on October 27 on a felony cocaine possession charge. She was arrested late last month when cocaine fell out of her purse on the Vegas strip; she claimed it was not hers.

A friend of Paris Hilton says that the reason Paris asked to use the bathroom the night she got arrested in Las Vegas for possession of cocaine, which she now says she thought was chewing gum, is because she was sticking it up her cooch.
The source, who goes by the name of Caroline, says that Paris has been putting coke and every other drug in a lubricated condom and then sticking it up her vagina for years. She says…

I actually wouldn’t be surprised by this at all, Paris has to know that nobody would want to touch her snatch out of fear of catching every single STD in the world. Meanwhile in other news Paris Hilton may have been blacklisted in Las Vegas.

Earlier today I told you that Paris Hilton got her ass arrested on Friday night after she was found to have cocaine on her. Now she has been charged with a drug felony.
The police report states that Paris was carrying .8 grams of coke, cigarette wrappers (probably for her marijuana) and a broken tablet of Albuterol.
The report also says that when they were pulled over, Paris asked if she could go into the bathroom at the Wynn Hotel because she was embarrassed by the crowd of 100 people that gathered around the car. Once inside the bathroom Paris asked if she could get lip balm out of her purse, the cop says…
“As she began to open it, I saw a small bindle of what I believed to be cocaine in a clear baggie begin to fall from the purse and into my hand.”
Paris then said the purse wasn’t hers, since then she has changed her story to say that the purse is hers but she had given it to a friend.
This bitch is getting exactly what she wants – attention. It’s rumored that she will go down for up to 4 years but we all know that Paris Hilton won’t get a second in jail. Paris has seen how much press Lindsay Lohan has gotten with her troubles and is now trying to ride that wave.

In case you didn’t hear – Paris Hilton got her ass arrested over the weekend for cocaine possession and above is her latest mug shot that her parents can add to their family photo collection.
Paris and her boyfriend, Cy Waits, were pulled over in Las Vegas over by police on Friday night outside the Wynn Hotel. Cops say they smelled a bit of marijuana so searched the car, they then found a bit of coke after it fell out of her purse. They charged her with possession of a legal substance and her boyfriend was charged with a DUI.
Since then Paris has said that it wasn’t her purse, the same excuse she used last month in South Africa.
Then she said she wasn’t worried about the whole thing and seems to think it’s no big deal, but then again she is a rich celebrity and has gotten off with everything else in the past so I’m going to bet she is right not to worry.

I don’t watch The Hills but apparently on the most recent episode some of the girls had an intervention for Kristin Cavallari after rumors of her doing cocaine at the Superbowl emerged.
Well it seems like that intervention failed because she was spotted doing coke again according to an onlooker at Coachella a couple of weeks ago. That same night she and Jason Statham were spotted partying it up together and went on a late-night (and probably drunk time) drive in a golf cart.
An insider said “they got pulled over by the cops and were told to go home, she was drinking and partying. I saw her do a line of cocaine. The dudes she hangs out with are all party promoters — and they’re party animals. She’s been sucked into the Hollywood scene. She’s surrounded by the leeches who enable her.”
There has been rumors for months that Kristin Cavallari is fond of doing a few lines of coke when she goes out partying, she has yet to address these latest rumors but I highly doubt she would admit it.

Cameron Douglas, the son of Hollywood legend Michael Douglas, was sentenced to five years in prison in Manhattan federal court today.
Back in January, Cameron plead guilty to dealing methamphetamines and cocaine. He has been awaiting sentencing since. Michael Douglas appealed to the judge to be lenient with his son, saying,
“I love my son, but I’m not blind to his actions. … I don’t want to see him break.
“I have some idea of the pressure of finding your own identity with a famous father. I’m not sure I can comprehend it with two generations to deal with. … We all know what Cameron Douglas is capable of – a loving man who adores kids and vice versa. Brave, who stands up for what is right. A thoughtful friend and son. An excellent DJ and a fine actor with a great career ahead of him.
“For the past eight months, I have cherished my two (hours) a week in personal conversation with Cameron at the MCC (Metropolitan Correctional Center). He’s sober! I get to witness the wonderful young man he can be. He maintains his spirit, blames no one but himself, and recognizes his criminal activity began with his heroin use.â€
Cameron’s stepmother Catherine Zeta-Jones and his grandfather Kirk Douglas also penned letters to the judge in a bid for leniency.
In addition to the prison time, Cameron was ordered to pay $25,000 in fines and must serve 450 hours of community service. When he is released, he will spend five additional years in a supervised release program.
