The Bachelor winner and loser Shayne Lamas has terrible luck because she has been taken into custody on suspicion of DUI charges.
The 24-year-old who won the 12th season of The Bachelor and then broke up with Matt Grant soon after was arrested on Saturday night in Venice, CA.
In a statement to E!, she says… “Early Saturday morning, after consuming one drink, I willingly drove through a mandatory check point on my way home with complete confidence of passing. However, the breathalyzer indicated that I was over the legal limit of blood alcohol content and was arrested onsite. I take full responsibility for my lack of judgment. I have always strived to be a role model for my friends, family and fans and have never nor will ever condone drinking and driving. I apologize for all those I have disappointed, including myself.”
One drink, really? Maybe she did have one drink … she just drank a whole picture of beer perhaps? Shayne Lamas is due in court on December 9th.
A 61-year-old dude named Dennis LeRoy was just sentenced to 180 days in jail after cops say he got wasted at a Minnesota bar last year and tried to drive home on his suped-up piece of living room furniture.
The La-Z-booze-mobile was equipped with a cup-holder, radio, headlight and a National Hot Rod Association sticker. It was powered by a converted lawn-mower.
Cops say on August 31,2008, LeRoy pounded around 8 or 9 beers, left the bar, mounted his chair-mobile — which is capable of speeds up to 20 MPH — and crashed into a “real car” on the way back to his home.
LeRoy was given field sobriety tests … but cops say he “failed everything.”
The La-Z-Boy driver can avoid jail time if he completes two years of supervised probation — which includes completing a chemical dependency program, random testing and 30 days of electronic monitoring.
Well the LAPD sure were busy last night, on top of visiting Orlando Bloom‘s robbery they removed Mischa Barton from her home.
Mischa was removed from her West Hollywood home by the Los Angeles Police Department because of some “medical issue”.
Officer April Harding said “we responded to her home last night on a medical issue, we assisted with it. She was removed from her home.”
When asked if Mischa was cooperative the officer said nothing but a simple “I guess.” No other details where released because of California privacy laws. Although a source told Us Weekly that the actress called the police herself because she was having a “freak out.” Whatever that means.
You may recall that Mischa Barton was charged in February 2008 with DUI and marijuana possession. She was sentenced to 36 months probation, told to attend alcohol education classes and pay a fine.
Fishy, something tells me this isn’t the end of this one.
If former NFL star Steve McNair’s girlfriend was upset about being arrested for drunken driving two days before she killed him and herself, she didn’t let it show.
McNair was a passenger in Sahel Kazemi‘s car when Nashville police arrested her a week ago. Police released video of that DUI stop Wednesday, the same day they confirmed that Kazemi, 20, had killed McNair and then herself in a condo McNair rented.
In the video, recorded by patrol car cameras, Kazemi laughed and teased the officer, but also repeatedly asked to have McNair come to the window of the police cruiser where she was sitting.
The officer responded, “He’s not happy.” McNair, who wasn’t charged, left in a cab without talking to her.
“I told him you wanted to talk to him and he was more than welcome to come back to the car. He just left in a taxi,” Officer Shawn Taylor told Kazemi.
It’s another allegation to come to light since the former NFL star’s death July 4. A new allegation surfaced Friday as the New York Daily News reported, via an anonymous source, that McNair carried on a six-year affair with an exotic dancer in Minneapolis.
According to the source, whom the News referred to as a “former business manager,” McNair was a “frequent visitor to the club and had an intimate and extramarital relationship” with said dancer.
According to this person, the woman knew McNair was married with children, but still didn’t care.
“She liked money and athletes,” the former business manager said on condition of anonymity. “She went out with athletes before. She was one of those girls who said, ‘You’re married? You have kids? So what?’ Lets have fun.”
“I can tell you that she was very upset when she learned that he had died,” the former business manager added.
Of course he wasn’t happy about the DUI — my guess is that she demanded he leave his wife or else. Affairs are nasty business!
If you’re a guy that has built a motorized bar stool and was lucky enough to make it to a bar and back, unnoticed, then count yourself lucky. If you happened to crash on your contraption, common sense might tell you to just deal with it.
Not this guy. Kyle Wygle was the unlucky fool that happened to come up with such an idea, then consume “about 15 beers”. When he wrecked the motorized stool, he called 911. Not too bright, if you ask me.
Paramedics responded along with the police. The officer questioned Wygle only to find his speech slurred and that he drank “a lot” of beers previously.
The officer deemed the contraption a “vehicle” and performed several field sobriety tests on Wygle, all of which he failed. Wygle was then charged with DUI and driving without a license.
Some people aren’t the sharpest tools in the shed. Wygle was said to be going 20 mph on the stool, which has a maximum speed of 38 mph. Neighbors cited a “strange looking machine” pass by their homes on his street.
Wygle has pleaded not guilty and has requested a trial.
Rip Torn apparently had too much of the Christmas spirit(s), at least according to Connecticut’s finest.
The 30 Rock costar pleaded not guilty Monday to two counts stemming from a Dec. 14 drunken driving arrest.
The 77-year-old was rung up on charges of illegal operation of a motor vehicle while under the influence and failure to drive in the proper lane after cops caught him cruising the breakdown lane of Route 44 with a Christmas tree tied to the roof of his Subaru. Torn lives in Salisbury, Conn., near the New York border.
Police say the actor botched part of a field sobriety exam and then refused to continue, insisting the ground wasn’t level enough. He also refused a breath test.
Torn, who currently plays Alec Baldwin’s back-from-a-coma boss Don Geiss on 30 Rock and is best known for the Men in Black films and his Emmy-winning role on The Larry Sanders Show, is due back in court Jan. 28.
In 2007, Torn pleaded guilty in a New York court to driving while impaired. He was fined and lost his license. In 2004, a Manhattan jury acquitted him of driving drunk and causing a fender-bender.

The ex of Mischa Barton and shameful oil heir was seen walking out of a liquor store on Sunset Blvd. at 1 A.M. on Monday, Dec 1st, after a night of partying at the Viper Room.
The Mercedes-driving socialite backed into a BMW SUV belonging to Pink while trying to leave the parking lot. The singer’s car was seriously banged up, and it was all caught on video by the paparazzi!
After a brief meeting with Pink, both parties drove off of the premises. She did NOT look pleased and was overheard saying she wanted to look at the video of Davis smashing into her car.
Shia LaBeouf is in trouble again and this time he’s been arrested for suspicion of DUI.
Law enforcement sources tell us LaBeouf was involved in a car accident at about 3:00 AM at the corner of La Brea and Fountain in Hollywood. We’re told Shia made a left turn in front of another car and the two collided, causing Shia’s car to roll.
Paramedics were called to the scene and both parties were taken to a local hospital, but no major injuries were sustained.
LaBeouf was placed under arrest on suspicion of felony DUI after we’re told he exhibited “outward signs” of intoxication at the scene.
UPDATE: We now have more info. A law enforcement states that deputies are at the hospital right now, checking on the injuries of the victim and Shia. If the victim’s injuries are serious, Shia will be booked on suspicion of felony DUI. If the injuries are minor, Shia will be cited and released on misdemeanor DUI.

The actress was sentenced to three years probation and to complete a three-month course in alcohol education after pleading no contest to drink driving charges in April.
Recalling the incident in the interview, Mischa admits she was shocked at her arrest, because it grouped her with other young Hollywood stars she would prefer not to be associated with.
Mischa has often attempted to disassociate herself from socialites Paris Hilton, Nicole Richie and Lindsay Lohan, who have also been arrested for DUI in recent years.
She said: ‘That was a low point for me. I never, ever would have thought I would be arrested.
‘I was disappointed because it associated me with a group of girls that I would rather not be associated with. That was the biggest bummer for me – I didn’t leave my house. I was too embarrassed.
‘They made such a big deal out of it with these other young actresses, that, for a little bit, I wanted to crawl into a hole and die.’
She added: ‘It was a stupid thing to do. But I’ve done a lot to pay back for what I did.’
Maybe it’s just me, but I don’t find Mischa the least bit attractive. It’s totally not surprising that she’s wearing jeans.

Police have recommended to prosecutors that Richie Sambora be charged with DUI and child endangerment – stemming from his March 25 arrest.
Last week, Laguna Beach Police handed over the case to the Orange County Calif. District Attorney’s Office, which has not announced any formal charges yet.
“Because the case is under review, I can’t discuss the details,” DA spokeswoman Farrah Emami told PEOPLE. “Ultimately, we have to base our decision on the available evidence.”
If Sambora is formally charged with both misdemeanors, a jail sentence is likely, legal experts say.
“Assuming Sambora was driving with over a .08 blood-alcohol level with a passenger under 14 in the car, he’s looking at probable jail time,” says veteran DUI lawyer Lawrence Taylor, who’s not involved with the case. “But it’s possible this can be plea bargained to a lesser offense, and/or he could get rehab in lieu of jail.”
Totally agree with the charges. It’s bad enough — drinking and driving, but to do so with your child in the vehicle — that’s completely inexcusable.
