Faith Hill’s beautiful face has adorned covers of CDs and magazines before, but for the first time ever she’s posing in a bikini.
What gave her the bravery? Pilates.
“I could bend in ways I haven’t been able to since I was a teenager,” the Nashville-based star tells Shape magazine for its December issue (on sale Nov. 10). “My husband [Tim McGraw] loves it!”
Her new routine is done with an instructor, and comes after years of waffling when it comes to working out.
“I was always very athletic, playing basketball and softball and running track,” she says.
“But in my 20s and 30s, I’d go through phases with exercise, working out for four weeks before a big tour or video shoot and not doing much afterward. Then I had three kids [with McGraw, daughters Gracie, 11; Maggie, 10; and Audrey, 6] and turned 40, so I decided to make a lifestyle change.”
There was another consideration: knee surgery in January forced her to cease exercising for six months. “I had never gone that long without doing something,” she says. “I was not happy.”
In July she and McGraw began a daily routine that included four miles on the elliptical, light weight lifting, crunches and push-ups.
“I found I slept better, had more energy and was stronger,” says Hill, who then increased her regime to include Pilates classes three times a week.
“It was so hard, but ultimately so worth it. My core is much stronger, and my arms are more toned. In fact, wearing a bikini on a magazine cover is my 41st birthday present to myself.”

What… Britney Spears‘ ‘House of Blues‘ tour didn’t make the list? Stop, stop…I jest!
The Police reunion trek led all tours in 2007 with a gross that has passed $212 million and is still climbing. The global tour few thought would ever happen moved more than 1.8 million tickets, according to Billboard Boxscore, prior to the Boxscore cutoff date of Nov. 13.
The Police tour was produced by TNA International and RZO Productions, and played stadiums, arenas and festivals.
Another heavy-hitting international arena/stadium outing was Genesis’ Turn It on Again tour, produced by Michael Cohl’s CPI. Selling out stadiums in Europe and arenas in the United States, Genesis’ 46 shows grossed $129 million.
Third for the year was Justin Timberlake’s FutureSex LoveShow tour, promoted primarily by AEG Live, which took in $126.8 million and drew more than 1.6 million people worldwide.
The top 10 is rounded out by Kenny Chesney ($71.2 million), Rod Stewart ($70 million), Cirque Du Soleil’s Delirium ($59.4 million), Roger Waters ($53.2 million), Tim McGraw/Faith Hill ($52.3 million), Christina Aguilera ($48.1 million) and Rascal Flatts ($41.6 million).
Prince’s 21 sellouts at the O2 in London was the top Boxscore at more than $22 million. Madison Square Garden in New York was once again the top-grossing arena in the world at $76.6 million in box office, and Red Rocks Amphitheatre near Denver was the top amphitheater at $18.6 million.
Overall, North American concert dollars and attendance are down double digits this year, after a record year in 2006 with the Rolling Stones, Madonna, U2, Barbra Streisand and other big ticket tours on the road. North American gross concert dollars for 2007 are down 10.2% to $2.6 billion, and concert attendance is down 19.2% to 51 million.
“Yes, a 19.2% decrease in attendance is very disturbing, since it reflects that the consumers are not really supporting breaking and mid-level talent,” AEG Live president/ CEO Randy Phillips says. “If this trend continues, who will be the headliners of tomorrow?”
For industry-leading Live Nation, 2007 “was a lighter touring year than 2006,” according to Jason Garner, president of North American Music. “We saw fewer artists on the road, especially in our global touring unit. We had some great artists out; there were just less of them than past years.”

Who are the hottest women in music? Shoutmouth’s Tom Z looked into this very important question, using a very strict set of guidelines that excluded women that used to be hot, hotties who have yet to turn 18, and women who really aren’t singers even though they have put out an album.
The top 10 hottest women in music using those strict standards:
1) Jessica Simpson: Two years ago, Jess destroyed the competition, but now, the gap has closed significantly. Newcomers like Underwood and Scherzinger could make a serious run at this top spot in the years to come. But for now, Jessica remains the hottest woman in music. She still looks comparable to how she did at her peak (circa 2004), and she’s still out there flaunting it in public on a consistent basis. Her dynasty might be nearing its end, but it hasn’t faded yet.
2) Shakira: Have you SEEN the “Hips Don’t Lie” video?
3) Carrie Underwood: Carrie is a rising in star in the world of country music and the world of hotness. Ever since she graduated from “American Idol” and went on The Carrie Underwood Diet - i.e., not eating - she’s really stepped it up a notch. Young girls, take note: Anorexia does work! If this pattern continues, watch for Carrie to make a run at #1 in 2008.
4) Beyonce: At this point, saying Beyonce is hot is like saying you support the troops. Of course she’s hot.
5) Nicole Scherzinger: This was a tough call. First off, Scherzrezrzezrzzinger is the most unattractive last name on the list, hands down. More importantly, Nicole has a wider range of attractiveness than anyone in the top ten. Sometimes she doesn’t look that great, but other times she looks downright phenomenal. When in doubt, err on the side of hotness. Also, this selection could’ve been filled by the entire Pussycat Dolls group instead of just Nicole, but let’s be honest, she’s the only one that does anything.
6) Christina Aguilera: According to US Weekly, Aguilera has been pregnant for the past 37 months. Yet she still isn’t showing any signs. That’s gotta count for something.
7) Danity Kane: Aubrey is the hottest, but choosing her would’ve meant excluding Aundrea and the rest of the girls, and that is simply unacceptable.
8) Girls Aloud (esp. Sarah Harding): They’re British.
9) Katharine McPhee: A year ago, Kat gave millions of “American Idol” fans McPhever, which makes sense, cause she’s really McPhuckin’ hot.
10) Faith Hill: Ah, Southern girls. They may have lost the Civil War, but they won the battle for my heart.

I’ve never heard of Nicole Scherzinger before but she’s hot. I’m not sure I really consider Jessica Simpson a “singer,” but there’s not much denying her hotness.

Not a bad list but I wouldn’t have included a couple of these women and would have ranked them differently. Who the hell is Nancy O’Dell? No way she’s hotter than Ali Landry. I’ve never thought Carrie Underwood was particularly sexy and think Eva Longoria is way overrated. And Reese Witherspoon is hotter than just about everyone else on this list.

Faith Hill is country music’s most beautiful woman, according to a reader poll released Friday in Country Weekly magazine. “To thousands of fans, Faith embodies the ideal woman who really `has it all’ — classic beauty, a superstar career, a great marriage to Tim McGraw and three lovely daughters,” the article says. “No other country star projects a sexier, more stunning image.”
Her husband, McGraw, finished No. 4 in the magazine’s recent poll on country’s sexiest man, with Keith Urban topping the list.
Rounding out the top 5 most beautiful women in order were Sara Evans, Carrie Underwood, Martina McBride and Shania Twain. Besides Underwood, two other newcomers made the list: Jennifer Nettles (No. 6) and Miranda Lambert (No. 8). Also in the top 10 were Terri Clark (No. 7), Trisha Yearwood (No. 9) and Reba McEntire and Gretchen Wilson (tie, No. 10)
Personally, I’d put Shania Twain at the top of this particular list. But Faith Hill is undeniably beautiful.
