Redmond O’Neal Sentenced To One Year Of In-Patient Rehab

Redmond O’Neal is heading back to rehab.

The son of actor Ryan O’Neal and the late Farrah Fawcett, who was caught driving with illegal drugs and a handgun in Santa Monica earlier this month, pleaded no contest to charges of heroin and marijuana possession, as well as possession of a handgun, on Thursday.

He was subsequently sentenced to a year in a live-in rehabilitation program.

“Redmond is grateful for the opportunity to receive additional intensive treatment,” his lawyer, Richard Pintal, told Radar Online, which first reported the news.

Redmond was arrested on Aug. 2 in Santa Monica.

A spokesperson for the Santa Monica Police Department previously confirmed Redmond was pulled over at 8:45 AM on Aug. 2, for failing to stop at a red left turn arrow at Lincoln and Olympic.

Redmond was pulled over at the 600 block of Olympic Drive, not too far from the police department.

A motor officer determined O’Neal was on probation, and therefore he had consent to search him and the vehicle he was driving.

The officer found a controlled substance believed to be heroin in the car.

O’Neal has a history of drug problems. Previously, he was arrested for possession of heroin and methamphetamine and, in a separate incident, possession of methamphetamine.

Sad, really. I wonder if he will ever get his act together?

O’Neal is featured in the reality show Ryan and Tatum: The O’Neals, currently airing on the Oprah Winfrey Network.

8 Creepy Celebrity Ghosts

I’ve never seen a ghost in my life, my family always say that they seen them in the old family home but unfortunately for them the ghosts weren’t of famous people. Here is 8 celebrity ghosts that apparently haunt certain places…

Jim Morrison

If you ever get the urge to talk to Jim Morrison’s ghost, no need to travel to Paris where he died. Nope, the owners and staff of a Mexican restaurant in Los Angeles, aptly named Mexico, believe Jim is haunting their bathroom. This isn’t actually as random as it sounds—the building the restaurant occupies was once The Doors’ workshop and recording studio. Apparently, the vocal booth was located exactly where the bathroom now sits. “Jim Morrison is definitely still here,” said the restaurant’s manager. “Funky things happen all the time we can’t explain. Lights popping on and off at weird times. But when that bathroom door handle jiggles by itself, that’s the weirdest sign. It’s totally inexplicable.” The restaurant’s chef adds, “We had someone come in before we opened up, to do a ‘spiritual cleaning’ to try and put everything at peace. But in the end they told us, ‘Sorry, whatever is here is not leaving.’”

Farrah Fawcett

Farrah Fawcett‘s ghost can be found at … Tori Spelling‘s house. Tori had a medium over to try to contact her dead father, but instead supposedly found herself talking to Farrah, who asked that she pass on some important messages to her family.

Marilyn Monroe

Marilyn Monroe may have died at her home in Brentwood, but her ghost supposedly haunts the Roosevelt Hotel in Hollywood, where she loved to stay. Guests have seen her image in a mirror in the lobby, which was once in her poolside suite, as well as seen her specter in the ballroom.

Cass Elliot

Dan Aykroyd swears his house is haunted by Cass Elliot of the Mamas and Papas, who died after choking in 1974. “A ghost certainly haunts my house,” he said. “It once even crawled into bed with me. I rolled over and just nuzzled up to whatever it was and went back to sleep. … The ghost also turns on the Stairmaster and moves jewelry across the dresser. I’m sure it’s Mama Cass because you get the feeling it’s a big ghost.” Oooh, harsh.

John Lennon

When the remaining Beatles got together in 1995 to record “Free As A Bird,” they all felt the studio was haunted by the ghost of John Lennon. “There were a lot of strange goings-on in the studio—noises that shouldn’t have been there and equipment doing all manner of weird things,” said Paul McCartney at the time. “There was just an overall feeling that John was around.” They also say that, mysteriously, you can hear John’s voice in the recording.

Elvis

Elvis haunts pretty much everywhere. People have seen his ghost at Graceland. Some even claim to have seen his ghost marrying Marilyn Monroe there. They’ve also seen him at the Las Vegas Hilton, where he performed from 1969 to 1976, waiting backstage. Oh, and near a home he rented in Bel Air, though the place was knocked down forever ago.

Anna Nicole Smith

Anna Nicole Smith died at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino three years. Ever since, guests have seen her ghost wandering the hallway. Which would actually make sense, because after her death, the hotel renovated the suite and re-numbered the rooms so that no one could request the fateful room on purpose.

Kurt Cobain

Years ago, a bar manager in the U.K. claimed that Kurt Cobain was haunting her laptop computer. She says the computer asked her for a kiss, and when she complied, it stopped working. Ooookay, lady.

Do you believe in ghosts? Got any creepy stories to share?

Farrah Fawcett’s Red Bathing Suit Donated to Smithsonian

Farrah Fawcett‘s low-cut red swimsuit is already part of history for the countless purchasers of the 1976 poster in which it famously appeared, and now the item will be preserved for future generations to see in one of America’s most iconic institutions.

Fawcett’s former partner, Ryan O’Neal, is donating swimsuit, along with other Fawcett memorabilia, to Washington D.C.’s Smithsonian Museum of American History.

“It’s an honor to see Farrah’s famous red bathing suit donated to the Smithsonian Institution, celebrating her place in pop culture,” said Ryan. “The swimsuit is exactly where it belongs, and I know Farrah is looking down on us today flashing that big smile that we all loved.”

“The donation will include the red swimsuit, an original copy of the swimsuit poster, a leather-bound book of Fawcett’s personal copies of scripts for the first season of ‘Charlie’s Angels,’ a Fawcett swimsuit jigsaw puzzle, a ‘Farrah Phenomenon’ 1976 edition of TV Guide, a ‘Charlie’s Angels’ 1976 edition of Time magazine, an original 1977 Farrah Fawcett doll and a ‘Farrah’s Glamour Center’ hairstyling toy,” according to the Smithsonian’s website.

Fawcett, a multiple Golden Globe winner, became a household name in the 1970s with recurring roles on TV hits including ‘I Dream of Jeannie’ and ‘The Flying Nun.’

It was her star-making turn as private investigator Jill Munroe on ‘Charlie’s Angels’ that earned the actress worldwide recognition as a sex symbol.

Fawcett, who rekindled her romance with O’Neal in 2001 after splitting in the late 1990s, passed away in 2009 after a lengthy battle with cancer.

Oscars Bosses Defend Farrah Fawcett Montage Snub

Bosses at the Oscars have defended their decision to leave Farrah Fawcett out of the memorial montage – insisting it’s impossible to pay tribute to every star who passed away in the last year.

Oscars Bosses Defend Farrah Fawcett Montage Snub

The Charlie’s Angels actress, who died in June (09), was absent from the Academy Awards’ Tribute Montage section on Sunday night (07Mar10), which marked the deaths of stars including Brittany Murphy and Patrick Swayze.

The snub sparked speculation she was left out because of her predominant television career, with some online critics slamming the ceremony heads for not adding her to the clip. Jane Fonda was also shocked Fawcett was left out, and wrote on Twitter.com:

“Where was Farrah Fawcett? She should have been included. #oscars #FAIL”

Screenwriter Roger Ebert added,

“No Farrah in the memorial. They have a whole lot of ‘splaining (sic) to do.”

And U.S. TV personality Star Jones is fuming the actress was not included, because she appeared in movies including The Cannonball Run and The Apostle and was even nominated for a Golden Globe for 1987 film Extremities.

Jones writes on her Twitter page,

“FYI (for your information)… Farrah had a very diverse career… that included Broadway, TV & Film. She even received a Golden Globe nom (sic).”

But Oscar bosses have defended their decision. Bruce Davis, the executive director of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, says,

“It is the single most troubling element of the Oscar show every year. Because more people die each year than can possibly be included in that segment. You are dropping people who the public knows. It’s just not comfortable.”

Hey Bruce, you also forgot Bea Arthur!

This isn’t rocket science people! Make the video long enough, or go through the celebrities who died faster. Don’t leave ANY of them out!

Farrah Fawcett’s Will; Ryan O’Neal Not Mentioned

Farrah Fawcett‘s family has been stunned by allegations the actress included a secret lover in her will.

Farrah Fawcett's Will; Ryan O'Neal Not Mentioned

The Charlie’s Angels star passed away in June, aged 62, and reportedly left the bulk of her multi-million dollar fortune to her troubled son Redmond O’Neal – excluding her longterm partner Ryan O’Neal from her legacy.

But now British newspaper the Sunday Express claims the star left $96,000 to former Texas football player Greg Lott, who previously claimed to have been her secret longterm lover.

[see the document]

Lott published a string of love letters in a bid to support his story, and was subsequently dismissed by Ryan O’Neal as a “disgruntled ex-boyfriend from the sixties.”

But the former athlete has revealed he was included in Fawcett’s will and insists her decision to leave him a portion of her estate proves she cared for him until the end. He has also accused O’Neal of keeping him away from Fawcett when she was dying.

“I am a beneficiary of her estate. I have been asked to maintain the confidentiality of the estate, which I must respect.

This news that I am indeed in her will and Ryan is not raises some serious questions about why he prevented me from seeing the love of my life in her final months. Farrah meant the world to me and I know that I equally had a profound impact on her. I cannot understand how those around her chose to keep me from her.”

Ouch! Wasn’t she planning on marrying Ryan for the second time, right before she died?

Playboy’s Tribute To Farrah Fawcett

It’s been four months since the tragic death of Farrah Fawcett, but Playboy are keeping her memory alive by paying tribute to her.

Playboy's Tribute To Farrah Fawcett

In the new issue of Playboy which is on newsstands today and on Playboy Digital they have done a six-page tribute to everyone’s favorite Angel.

Along with the photographs of Fawcett .. Playboy’s director of photography, Gary Cole, gives an interview about what it was like working with Farrah when she appeared in the magazine – her cover in 1978 followed by two pictorials in 1995 and 1997.

When describing what she was like, Cole says, “force of nature, that was Farrah, and we’ll always love her for it.”

I for one will be buying this, it makes me sad that a lot of people forget about Farrah Fawcett because of the death of Michael Jackson.

Ryan O’Neal Hit On His Daughter

Yeah just like the title says, Ryan O’Neal hit on his own daughter Tatum O’Neal.

In an interview with Vanity Fair, Ryan told of how he met a nice blonde woman, but what makes this even more bizarre/disgusting is it was during Farrah Fawcett’s funeral!!

He says, “I had just put the casket in the hearse and I was watching it drive away when a beautiful blonde woman comes up and embraces me. I said to her, ‘You have a drink on you? You have a car?’ She said, ‘Daddy, it’s me–Tatum!’ I was just trying to be funny with a strange Swedish woman, and it’s my daughter. It’s so sick.”

His daughter Tatum then told the magazine, “That’s our relationship in a nutshell. You make of it what you will. It had been a few years since we’d seen each other, and he was always a ladies’ man, a bon vivant.”

Disgusting.

Ryan O’Neal Bans Son, Griffin From Farrah Fawcett’s Funeral

The long time lover and friend of the late Farrah Fawcett revealed that his estranged son, Griffin O’Neal, was turned away from the funeral of the iconic beauty on Tuesday.

Even though Griffin drove 300 miles to pay his respects, Ryan O’Neal specifically requested his son be banned from the funeral.

When asked about his reasoning, Ryan would only suggest that his son is a “bad guy.”

Despite his father’s intentions, Griffin believes that Farrah would be upset to know he wasn’t allowed to attend her funeral.

Charlie’s Angels Remember Farrah Fawcett

Farrah Fawcett’s fellow Angels paid tribute yesterday by speaking about her passing.

Kate Jackson:

“I will miss Farrah every day. She was a selfless person who loved her family and friends with all her heart, and what a big heart it was. Farrah showed immense courage and grace throughout her illness and was an inspiration to those around her. When I think of Farrah, I will remember her kindness, her cutting, dry wit and, of course, her beautiful smile.”

Jaclyn Smith:

“Farrah had courage. she had strength, and she had faith. And now she has peace as she rests with the real angels.”

Cheryl Ladd:

“She was incredibly brave, and God will be welcoming her with open arms.”

Finally, from Charlie:

“Though I did not know her well, Farrah left an indelible mark on me and the public during her one-year reign on Charlie’s Angels. She put up a gallant fight against her unforgiving disease and I send my deepest sympathy and prayers to her family and friends.”

Michael Jackson Dies, Age 50

Michael Jackson has suffered a heart attack and there are scant rumors (unconfirmed) that he has died.

TMZ is reporting that the fifty year old king of pop was rushed to a Los Angeles hospital.

Jackson reportedly collapsed at his home around noon today, where he was shortly rushed to emergency care while still unresponsive.

“The call came in because a person was not breathing,” says a spokesman for the Los Angeles City Fire Department.

“When the team arrived, they saw that CPR was already in progress by someone at the home. The person not breathing was transported to UCLA Medical Center and remains there.”

“He had a heart attack,” father Joe Jackson reported

They say it happens in three’s, Ed McMahon, Farrah Fawcett and now Michael Jackson.

Farrah Fawcett Has Died

Farrah Fawcett died at 9:28 AM today. Ryan O’Neal and Alana Stewart were at her bedside.

She was 62.

Farrah Fawcett had taken a serious turn for the worse and her loved ones reportedly gathered at her bedside Wednesday night.

A priest also was summoned to the Los Angeles hospital where the 62-year-old “Charlie’s Angels” icon – a devout Catholic – is being treated for anal cancer, the television show “Extra” reported.

Her publicist, Arnold Robinson, would not comment on the reports, saying only that “she is still being treated for her condition.”

Those keeping vigil in the intensive care unit included longtime love Ryan O’Neal, who has been with the one-time sex symbol constantly since she was hospitalized two weeks ago.

Ryan O’Neal had recently proposed to Farrah — I wish she could have made it to the wedding, this makes me really sad.

UPDATE (James):

CNN (Farrah Fawcett, sex symbol and actress, dies):

Farrah Fawcett, the blonde-maned actress whose best-selling poster and “Charlie’s Angels” stardom made her one of the most famous faces in the world, has died. She was 62.

People (Farrah Fawcett Dies of Cancer at 62):

Farrah Fawcett, who skyrocketed to fame as one of a trio of impossibly glamorous private eyes on TV’s Charlie’s Angels, has died after a long battle with cancer. She was 62.

Fawcett died at 9:28 a.m. PST at St. John’s Heath Center in Santa Monica, Calif. She was with longtime partner Ryan O’Neal, friend Alana Stewart and her doctor Lawrence Piro. She had recently returned to St. John’s for treatment of complications from anal cancer, first diagnosed three years ago.

“She’s gone. She now belongs to the ages,” O’Neal tells PEOPLE. “She’s now with he mother and sister and her God. I loved her with all my heart. I will miss her so very, very much. She was in and out of consciousness. I talked to her all through the night. I told her how very much I loved her. She’s in a better place now.”

Like so much about Fawcett’s life – including her bumpy relationship with O’Neal – her heroic struggle to beat the disease was closely followed by her legion of fans.

“I’ve watched her this past year fight with such courage and so valiantly, but with such humor,” Fawcett’s Charlie’s Angels costar Kate Jackson told PEOPLE in November 2007.

[...]

In 1973, Fawcett married actor Lee Majors, forever known as Col. Steve Austin on TV’s The Six Million Dollar Man. Three years later, she appeared in the cult sci-fi film Logan’s Run and began her stint with costars Jackson and Jaclyn Smith on Charlie’s Angels. Well-coiffed and scantily-clad, the threesome created an instant sensation, with a weekly following of 23 million fans.

Fawcett moved on after just one season. By then, she was already a phenomenon, having donned a one-piece red bathing suit and a perfect smile for her legendary pin-up poster, which sold a still-record 12 million copies.

“I became famous almost before I had a craft,” Fawcett told The New York Times in 1986, four years after her divorce from Majors. (By then, she was already involved with Ryan O’Neal.) “I didn’t study drama at school. I was an art major. Suddenly, when I was doing Charlie’s Angels, I was getting all this fan mail, and I didn’t really know why. I don’t think anybody else did, either.

Though she left TV for what was assumed to be greener pastures – feature films – Fawcett’s initial three big-screen vehicles all crash-landed. Her first, 1978′s Somebody Killed Her Husband, was lampooned in MAD magazine under the title, Somebody Killed Her Career.

It took some serious dramatic TV roles, including that of a battered wife in 1984′s The Burning Bed (which earned her an Emmy nomination), as well as starring in small-screen biopics about pioneering photojournalist Margaret Bourke-White and ill-fated Woolworth heiress Barbara Hutton, for Fawcett to bounce back.

Fawcett is only slightly younger than my parents but she was the first iconic sex symbol I was ever aware of.  She and Majors were the Hollywood “it” couple of the day and “Charlie’s Angels,” while not a show that has stood up well to the test of time, nonetheless remains a pop culture icon.

Even though she remained a celebrity through the end, she’ll always be remembered for that poster.  It’s amazing how tame it was compared to the images of today’s sex symbols.

Ryan O’Neal Wants to Marry Dying Farrah Fawcett

Ryan O’Neal gave an update on Farrah Fawcett‘s status at the world premiere of her documentary, “Farrah’s Story,” in Los Angeles last night.

“[She's] wonderful, hopeful and proud of this that we helped her make it,” O’Neal told ET on the red carpet. Asked if she would be well enough to see the documentary herself when it airs on Friday night, O’Neal said yes.

The actor was also asked if he would wed Fawcett, after revealing recently that he loves the actress more than ever.

“I’d do that, I would do that. She’s still a little bit hesitant. I’m working though, I’m working.

You know she’s been married, I’ve been married. She’s said, ‘We have a good thing.’ But I said ‘you said that 30 years ago, shouldn’t there be a sea change?’ Maybe there is, you never know.”

Over the past week, O’Neal has spoken publicly after his decades-long relationship with Fawcett, most notably to Meredith Vieira on ‘Today. O’Neal had been optimistic five-to-six months ago. “She was athletic, healthy and hungry and beautiful,” O’Neal says. But then he knew things were wrong after a walk on the beach five to six months ago when Fawcett had to turn around because she wasn’t feeling well.

Fawcett’s documentary features the actress telling the camera directly that she’s relied on a combination of chemotherapy, radiation and prayer during her three year battle with cancer.

“I want to stay alive. So I say to God, because it is, after all, in His hands, ‘It is seriously time for a miracle,’ “says Fawcett. “Of all the things I’ve ever hoped for in my life, finding a doctor to surgically remove my anal cancer did not even make the top one million on my list.”

Meanwhile, TMZ reports exclusively that a man who claims to be responsible for the Farrah Fawcett documentary is suing Ryan O’Neal and others, claiming he was aced out of the project and O’Neal “physically threatened him.”
