Howard Stern has decided to add his two cents on Gabourey Sidibe, who he keeps referring to as the “fat black chick“, being nominated for an Oscar and what kind of future career she could have. Well as far as he is concerned she couldn’t have a career because she is too fat.
Stern and his sidekick Robin Quivers talk about Oprah being a liar for saying Gabourey will have a successful career. They then go on to call her an enormous woman the size of a planet and discuss how everybody in Hollywood is pretending that she’s going to succeed and that they have roles for her. He then says the only part she could play is the big football player in The Blind Side 2.
The two of them also go on to say that she should use her money from Precious to get thin, because she is sick and it’s a terrible thing what she has done to herself (they mean it’s terrible she is fat). They also say that she was seated in an aisle seat because she is too big for regular seats.
Now I’m not going to pretend that Gabourey Sidibe won’t have a hard time in Hollywood because she doesn’t look like the rest of them, but to say she won’t have a career is ridiculous — there are a lot of roles that she could do. The things that Howard Stern is saying disgust me. It takes a lot to pick on an easy target doesn’t it?
Victoria Beckham appeared on The View yesterday and gave her input on the whole fat/skinny model debate that has been going through the fashion world for the past couple of years.
While the model weight debate has been circulating for the last few years, it is only the past 8 months that it is really starting to make headlines worldwide. As a fashion designer and super skinny person herself, it was only natural and a matter of time before Victoria “weighed” in on the debate.
Posh Spice showed off her new collection just a few days during New York Fashion Week, in which she used a lot of thin models – one looked fatigue/famishing, to great reviews.
When the topic was brought up she said, “most of these girls are naturally thin, and I don’t think we should be discriminating against someone because they are too thin or too curvy or too large or whatever it is.”
Victoria said that she has signed on to a campaign by the Council of Fashion Designers of America, which is calling for industry people to be more responsible.
On this she said, “The CFDA have reached out to designers, stylists and casting directors not to work with underage models, girls that are too thin and to be more ethnically aware. And I think designers are listening. I had a casting last week and had some terribly thin girls come in and it wouldn’t have worked. The campaign the CFDA has launched is called Health Is Beauty, and they are definitely encouraging designers to work with healthier-sized models.”
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, I’m all for using all sizes (although to be fair clothes would look better on a thinner, thin not anorexic, girl rather than someone that is a size 16) on the runway but at the same time I realize that designers basically want a walking hanger down the runway. The whole models weight debate is really starting to get tired, if there is going to be some rules then I wish somebody would just do it now and if not then I wish the debate would stop.
That said, I don’t think anybody should be looking at Victoria Beckham for what is acceptable when it comes to weight.

Do you remember who Brooke Hogan is? She is Hulk Hogan‘s daughter who is constantly trying to make herself relevant, well she has decided to a bikini photo for Life & Style magazine and it is hasn’t received a bit of retouching.
The reason she would let them publish photos of her that haven’t been untouched? She says that she has embraced she is never going to be a skinny bitch and photoshop sets a bad example.
She says “[Photoshopt] sets a bad example for what healthy is, I’m not a size 2 and probably never will be. That’s something I had to get out of my head a long time ago. I feel really confident and comfortable in my body. I feel feminine. I even like myself naked in the mirror! There’s always room for improvement, but I really do love my body.â€
Since doing this photoshoot and interview, Brooke and her boyfriend (unknown rapper) Stack$ have split up, her rep called up Life & Style to break the news that we all wanted to hear.
Janice Lee, a rep for the wannabe, said “Brooke Hogan and Stack$ have split but remain friends. He was a big part of her life for a very long time, and she still cares about him and his family dearly. Brooke would like to thank her fans for their kind words and sensitivity during the breakup.”
Brooke Hogan is so desperate for any kind of attention but what I will give her is that her body is kind of banging.

As we all know, when someone is trying to be politically correct they use the word “big” instead of saying what they really mean – “fat”. Well this is exactly what the New York Times have decided to call Christina Hendricks and used a distorted image to go with the article.
In their fashion reports for the Golden Globes red carpet on Sunday, a writer decided to call the Mad Men actress “big” while using the image above on the left which leads you to believe that Hendricks does look bigger than she actually does. The photo has since been replaced with the real photo on the right.
Cathy Horyn, a writer for the NY Times, is quoted as saying “Not pretty Christina Hendricks in Christian Siriano’s exploding ruffle dress. (As one stylist said, “You don’t put a big girl in a big dress. That’s rule number one.â€)”
Another writer for the NY Times, Andy Port (another woman), wrote that Kate Hudson, Jennifer Aniston and Courtney Cox have all “put on a little weight.” She then ads that they have put on sexier curves.
What I find interesting here is that both of these writers are women hating on other women, jealousy maybe? Not one of these actresses are fat, I wish this whole fat/skinny debate would just go away already.

A dating website, Beautiful People, has banned over over 5000 members because they apparently gained too much weight over the holidays.
The website has about 500,000 members, all of whom have to go through a ridiculous sign up process. In order to be given access to the website they must be voted by other members on whether they are beautiful or not.
But the site has now changed the approval process by making members of the opposite sex only able to vote on each other, apparently a lot of women were voting other women out so they could cut down on the competition.
Robert Hintze, who founded the website, said “As a business, we mourn the loss of any member, but the fact remains that our members demand the high standard of beauty be upheld, Letting fatties roam the site is a direct threat to our business model and the very concept for which BeautifulPeople.com was founded.”
Gred Hodge, the managing director of the website says, “We were getting a lot of complaints from members who were meeting with people who gained a lot of weight or who gained weight in their photo albums.”
It really shows the state of the world when a dating site kicks members off for gaining weight over the holidays, if I had been on that site and kicked off I would sue the hell out of them (I swear I’m not bitter… I didn’t even try to sign up and get denied!).

Dakota Fanning has done an interview with V Magazine in which she tells them that she is happy be be able to find into a size zero.
Dakota, who turns 16-years-old next month, says that as she is getting older she is able to get into a size zero without having them alter the dresses to suit her.
The 5’3″ actress said “Now that I’m getting older, I’m finally getting to the point where I can fit into those things.”
She also spoke out about her role in the upcoming movie, The Runaways, in which she stars alongside Kristen Stewart in a biopic about Joan Jett and Cherie Currie of the 70s rock bad The Runaways.
The pair share a girl-on-girl kiss, to which Dakota says “It’s passionate,they were just as close as two could get.’ And as for taking cocaine in the film she says ‘It’s actually crushed B vitamins. Kristen and I were, like, our hair is gonna grow a lot from these.”
I’m not even going to comment on Dakota Fanning being happy to be a size zero because it just shows what all young girls are thinking. As for her girl on girl kiss, this is probably they first I am not looking forward to seeing because she is way too young.

Remember last month that I told you all about V Magazine‘s Size Issue and the controversy to go with it? Well here is a preview of the plus size models.
Now I am all for using models of every size possible but this is going to sound really mean, but when I saw these pictures I was completely weirded out.
But that goes to show what the we are all used too – skinny bitches! Being honest though I do prefer my semi naked women to have a fit/toned body. I’m being very careful with what I can say because people go ape shit crazy on this issue!

V Magazine have decided that their January 2010 issue will feature a bunch of plus-sized models, this of course means there is going to be some controversy.
That is Crystal Renn in the photo above from the May 2009 issue of Glamour magazine, which also did a plus-sized issue, and she is expected to be in V’s January issue.
According to Page Six the likes of Terry Richardson, Bruce Weber and Karl Lagerfeld are all set to take photos of the models which will range from fully dressed to fully nude.
Stephen Gann, the editor in chife of V Magazine, said “Big, little, pint-size, plus-size — every body is beautiful. And this issue is out to prove it.”
But are these models actually plus sized? It seems not because Jezebel have come up with some very good points…..
- Lagerfeld, you may recall, once said: “No one wants to see curvy women. You’ve got fat mothers with their bags of chips sitting in front of the television and saying that thin models are ugly.”
- Since V usually uses “regular” models — especially for its “beauty issue,” how does a one-off plus-size issue “prove” that “every body is beautiful”?
- Much like when Italian Vogue did an “all-black issue,” the flipside of highlighting one kind of model in a “special” issue is that they’re actually being segregated, placed in a ghetto, away from the other “real” models.
- This is mentioned often on this site, but worth repeating: A plus-size model is not the same as a plus-sized woman. A “plus-size model” is a model who is at least 5’9″ but has measurements above the requirements for “straight size” models, which are, roughly, 34-24-34. Basically, a plus size model could be a US size 8, 10 or 12, despite the fact that those sizes are not considered “plus” by clothing manufacturers, So they don’t exactly represent plus-sized women.
What do you think about this? I mean Crystal Renn isn’t exactly a fattie is she? But in the model world she would be considered a whale. Yet again the question of what is too skinny is brought up in the fashion world.

The other day I posted about Karl Lagerfeld causing a ton of fuss in the fashion industry after saying fat models don’t belong on the runway . Well now Ralph Lauren are causing the weight issue to hit the fan again after they fired a model for being too fat.
Ralph Lauren fired Filippa Hamilton after the picture above on the left cause outrage among people when it was used in Japan , the picture on the right is what she really looks like. I guess the fashion house didn’t listen to the people crying over the model looking way too skinny in the ad, because they fired her for looking too fat!
The 5’10″ and 123lbs model said “They fired me because they said I was overweight and I couldn’t fit in their clothes anymore, I was shocked to see that super skinny girl with my face, It’s very sad, I think, that Ralph Lauren could do something like that. I think they owe American women an apology, a big apology, I’m very proud of what I look like, and I think a role model should look healthy.”
The models lawyer, Geoffrey Menin, said the picture is a “gross distortion of how she really looks and which we fear will be extremely damaging to her.”
Ralph Lauren issued a statement saying that the 23-year-old model is a “beautiful and healthy woman but [our] relationship ended as a result of her inability to meet the obligations under her contract with us. The image in question was mistakenly released and used in a department store in Japan and was not the approved image which ran in the U.S. We take full responsibility, this error has absolutely no connection to our relationship with Filippa Hamilton.”
Somebody needs to step in to this whole fashion industry and start making rules, it is getting out of control.

Fashion Week’s around the world happen twice a year, which means there is always debates as to what is too skinny and acceptable. Well as the title says, Karl Lagerfeld is giving his opinion and he doesn’t want “fat” women on the runway.
Just last week, German magazine Brigitte announced they were banning skinny models from their pages and replacing them with “real women,” Andreas Lebert who is the editor of the magazine said he and his staff were sick of photoshopping underweight models to make them look normal.
“For years we’ve had to use Photoshop to make these girls look fatter. Their thighs and their breasts have been the main problem. I think this is disturbing and perverse. What has it got to do with our normal readers?” Lebert said.
Focus asked Lagerfeld what his opinion on this were and the 71 year old designer, who is from Germany, said those who complain about skinny models are just “fat mummies” who don’t want to be reminded of their weight issues.
“These are fat mummies sitting with their bags of crisps in front of the television, saying that thin models are ugly,” he also said that the Fashion world was all to do “with dreams and illusions, and no one wants to see round women”.
Lagerfeld himself had a major weight loss a couple of years ago after he wanted to fit into clothes that he said were made for young boys and not men his age.
What a crock of shit all of this is, remember Heidi Klum was accused of being fat ? This debate isn’t going to be over anytime soon. What are your thoughts?

As a top model, Kathy Ireland is used to seeing pictures of herself that have been retouched to hide her flaws. But when the former Sports Illustrated swimsuit issue cover girl saw a photo taken by her son as she baked cookies at the family’s Santa Barbara house recently, the raw image took her breath away.
“He said ‘Mom, you look pregnant. I didn’t recognize the person I saw. I saw someone who looked overwhelmed, overstressed, overweight, over-everything.”
In her latest book, Real Solutions for Busy Moms. Ireland talks about how mothers tend to put everybody else’s needs before their own. Case in point: she had put on 25 lbs. without even really realizing it.
“I was not making enough time to take care of me,” says Ireland, 46, a mother of three kids ranging in age from 6 to 14 and CEO of Kathy Ireland World Wide, a $1.4 billion design empire. She also runs a mentoring program for single teen mothers.
To get back on track, Ireland enlisted the help of a friend, who happens to be a personal trainer and nutritionist. Thanks to healthier food choices, including cutting down on snacking and desserts, plus three exercise sessions a week, Ireland says she’s almost back to where she feels her best.
Does that mean she wants to get back into a bikini?
“No, that’s not my goal. I want to be healthy, to be there for my husband and my kids.”
Heidi Klum, through her spokesperson, has finally spoken out about the comments saying she was too heavy for the runway.
Just in case you don’t know, last week German fashion designer Wolfgang Joop made comments saying Heidi “is simply too heavy and has too big a bust. And she always grins so stupidly. That is not avant-garde – that is commercial!â€
Needless to say Heidi isn’t happy, the statement released by her spokesperson says “Wolfgang is obviously trying to revive his sagging career and get press for himself by riding Heidi’s coattails.”
Heidi’s friend and Project Runway co star Tim Gunn also gave his opinion saying “it’s totally ridiculous! Heidi is a sensitive soul, and it’s very troubling to her. If she’s fat, other women should throw themselves off a train. I can wrap my hand around her bicep.”

In a blog post titled “Since when did a woman’s weight become newsworthy,” Ashlee Simpson is lashing out against the recent media coverage of her sister Jessica’s physique and wardrobe.
Ashlee says she is “completely disgusted by the headlines concerning my sister’s weight,” saying it is “embarrassing and belittling to all women to read about a woman’s weight or figure as a headline on Fox News.”
She argues that just a week after the inauguration, such coverage only diminish the ” feeling of hope in the air for our country.”
Ashlee Simpson ends her arguments with concern for the kids, saying that teenage girls are going to have respect issues “in an environment where we criticize a size 2 figure.”
This wouldn’t be the first time that body image and Ashlee Simpson have made their way into the same sentence. In the early stages of her music career, Simpson underwent what seems to be but is still unconfirmed plastic surgery on her face.
The reason that Karolina Kurkova is “fat” has finally been revealed, according to new reports the model suffers from the thyroid disorder hypothyroidism, which messes with your body’s metabolism.
In June of last year, the 24-year-old model was bashed by the Brazilian media and people in the fashion industry after she walked the runway in Sao Paulo Fashion Week.
Some of these critics said that Kurkova was “too fat” and had “cellulite and love handles” as she walked the runway in a bikini, you can see pictures in the thumbnails below to judge, I myself think there is nothing wrong.

It is also being reported that the model almost didn’t end up in the 2008 Victoria’s Secret Show because of her “weight problem” and the decision to have her walk was last minute – hence why her name wasn’t on any pre-show stuff.

Apparently her diet generally consists of fresh vegetables, salad and protein, but “for several weeks leading up to last year’s Miami show, an inside source said that the supermodel cut carbs altogether, and worked out for hours in an effort to keep up with other super-slim Angels Heidi Klum, Adriana Lima, Miranda Kerr and Marisa Miller.”
“She was exhausted and didn’t get down to where she wanted to be,” said the pal.
This kind of crap really pisses me off, Karolina Kurkova is nowhere near fat and definitely doesn’t need to lose any weight. You might recall that last year she topped E! Online’s top sexiest women list.
