I really appreciate Jon Voight’s efforts to reconcile with his kids – I mean, the guy’s got to be lonely. However, there are better ways to go about it. Here’s the latest attempt.
In the November issue of Marie Claire, Angelina Jolie’s brother, James Haven, spoke out about his relationship with his father, Jon Voight.
 Haven says he dedicates himself to helping abandoned women and children due to his own scarred experience as a child. Of his famous father, Haven says, “I don’t want to constantly berate my father — I wish him well, and I hope he finds peace — but he put my mom through years of mental abuse.”
Voight couldn’t let it go, and had to respond:
“I find it very heartbreaking that my children want to paint a bad guy portrait of me. I feel it comes from their inability to let go of years of programmed anger from their mother, who understandably felt quite hurt when we divorced. In all truth, I tried to give him and their mother continuous love and support and large sums of money. God knows, for years I’ve tried to mend this relationship. Perhaps the trauma of their mother’s passing has made it worse.”
“I continuously send them my heart and love and am always available to them for whatever they may need from me.”
My favorite part is the “large sums of money”. Sure Jon, that’s going to fix the problem. Just throw some money at the brokenhearted children.

Lindsay Lohan spoke to OK! Magazine about rehab, staying sober, and the much-documented feud between her parents.
Of rehab, Lindsay says,
“It was a sobering experience. It made me look at myself and all the people, places and things in my life in a different way. I was in there for substance abuse, after all.”
Lindsay is going back to Hollywood briefly, but will be returning to Utah after that.
“I’m going back to shoot Dare to Love Me, but I plan on returning to Utah so I can stay focused and avoid other distractions. Tempation is always there, but now I’ll avoid it the right way.
… [She will surround herself] with good people who have their hearts and their minds in the right places.â€
Lindsay adds that she’s not giving up acting anytime soon.
“Absolutely not — never! I’m here to stay. My talent is a gift, and I’m going to use it in the right way.â€
As for the feud between her parents, she says,
“I wish it would stop. It hurts when two people you love argue with one another. I don’t think any child wants to see their parents argue or see their family fall apart. Unfortunately, it happens, and when it does, they should do it with as little effect on their children as possible.â€
I like that Lindsay’s doing things differently, like calling the tabloids as soon as she gets out of rehab. Paparazzi always help with addiction recovery, right?

What better way to pay off your gambling debt than marriage? Reportedly, that’s what Pamela Anderson thinks when it comes to Rick Solomon. The Rick Solomon of Paris Hilton sex tape fame. The guy made $6 million from selling the tape and then became a professional poker player.
 ‘It’s so romantic. It’s romance. I was playing poker one night in my room and I was down about $250,000. He said if I made out with him I could clear the … thing.’
‘And I ended up paying off my poker debt. And then I fell in love and now we’re engaged.’
Pam’s been married to a couple winners in her life, so why not Rick? Two of her exes, Tommy Lee and Kid Rock, have been offered a $1 million prize to settle their VMA feud in a boxing ring grudge match by Las Vegas nightclub boss Jeff Beacher.
But it sounds like Pam and Rock should be the ones getting in the ring after Kid said he never loved her and divorcing her was the best thing he ever did:
“I went through what I went through, and there’s no doubt it wasn’t love – we went through all these things, but then coming out of it pretty much unscathed, after uprooting my son and a lot of things, it’s like, ‘Thank god I’m out of this.”

The other day a friend asked who I thought was more messed up, Lindsay Lohan or Britney Spears, and I came to the conclusion that it’s Brit-Brit, hands down. While Lindsay struggles, is going to jail, and basically acts like a spoiled brat, I think Britney actually suffers from severe mental issues. Let’s compare …
Lindsay Lohan
Lindsay broke onto the Hollywood scene at age 11 when she starred in “Parent Trap”, and the drama arrived shortly thereafter. First there was the feud with Hilary Duff over Aaron Carter (why, girls, why?), which Lindsay provoked by showing up at the “Cheaper By The Dozen” premiere. But that’s small potatoes compared to what has followed.
Lindsay was in three car accidents in 2005, including a minor fender-bender, a paparazzo running into her car and sending her to the hospital, and running into a van in West Hollywood.
Then in January 2006, Lindsay went to the hospital … twice. In the first incident she cut her leg on a broken teacup at Bryan Adams’ house in London and required 10 stitches, and in the second, she had an asthma attack while in Miami. Lindsay went back again in July during the filming of “Georgia Rule” for supposed exhaustion. Then in September, she broke her wrist.
Now, after back-to-back DUI allegations, Lindsay is in rehab for the second time, this go around in Utah.
I agree, this is a lot of drama, but she’s just a kid with messed up parents who acts out by drinking too much and losing too much weight. I think Lindsay would benefit from some therapy, whereas Britney needs something a little stronger, preferrably from a pharmacy.
Britney Spears
Britney’s first single was released in 1998 at the age of 16, and like Lindsay, the drama followed. As the opening act for ‘N Sync’s tour, Britney soon began dating Justin Timberlake. That relationship ended in 2002, and the news was on every tabloid with speculation that Britney was a little unfaithful to Justin, sparking Justin’s song “Cry Me A River”.
That relationship has been followed by many, many others, including two marriages. The first lasted 55 hours after Britney married Jason Alexander in Las Vegas. The second lasted two years and gave Britney and Kevin Federline two children. Since the divorce, Britney has been one tabloid story after another.
So far Britney has:
I’m convinced that at least 80% of this behavior can only be explained by an untreated mental disorder. In fact, there is serious speculation that Britney is bipolar and/or suffers from post-partum depression.
In the end, it’s Britney who takes the cake for being the most messed up. The girl needs to find some help.

Zsa Zsa Gabor‘s husband, Freddy von Anhalt was photographed naked and tied to the steering wheel of his car.
He claims that a trio of women robbers pulled up next to him, asked for a photo, but instead robbed him at gunpoint and left him naked and cuffed to his Rolls-Royce.
After his rants, claiming to be Anna Nicole Smith‘s baby daddy… frankly, I don’t believe a word that comes out of his mouth. He’s ranked #2 on the list of top 10 attention seekers, only second to Britney Spears.
 The imbecilic 9th husband of 90-year-old Zsa Zsa previously injected himself into the national news by claiming to be the father of Dannielynn Birkhead, saying that he had an affair with the late Anna Nicole Smith. No one has corroborated that alleged liaison. There were also no witnesses to the “robbery.”
The wackadoodle Prince has been involved in a feud with Gabor’s beleaguered daughter, Francesca Hilton. A Santa Monica Judge fined Zsa Zsa $3,800 for not showing up in court the other day, in a suit said to be instigated by the Prince, claiming that Francesca forged Gabor’s signature to take out a $2 million loan with Gabor’s Bel Air home as collateral. The Prince said Zsa Zsa will no longer appear in public. According to sources, he also has no interest in the Bel Air mansion because of a prenup with the former Miss Hungary of 1936. The matter will now go to trial on September 14.
Francesca’s rep, PR maven Ed Lozzi, told TMZ that Zsa Zsa still talks to her daughter every day. Francesca said (through Lozzi) that when Zsa Zsa called to tell her about “the robbery,” she told her daughter, “Dahlink, Frederick first said it was three aliens, but I told him to say it was three humans, because people would think he was crazy.”
Sources say that video surveillance tapes of Bellagio Road are being reviewed, and that a major publication is asking the D.A. to investigate the “robbery.” Filing a false police report is a misdemeanor.

The National Enquirer reports that Barbara Walters likes Ivanka Trump as a candiate to replace Rosie, O’Donnell on The View. She may have some ulterior motives, though, as she supposedly wants “to stick it to Paris Hilton and her parents for their shabby treatment of her when they were trying to sell the Paris post-prison interview.” But Page Six says Barbara still has beef with the Trumps because Donald called her a liar during the Rosie feud, so she’d never hire Ivanka.
It seems drama will continue to follow The View. Candidates to replace Rosie look to be Gale King, Whoopi Goldberg, Kathy Griffin, Mario Cantone, and now, Ivanka.

On her much maligned new album, Kelly Clarkson expressed nothing but love for her former manager — then she fired his ass!
While the feud, er, creative differences between Kelly and music mogul Clive Davis haven’t been a secret, her recent firing of The Firm’s Jeff Kwatinetz — on top of scrapping her tour — proved there was trouble in Clarksonland!
 But in the liner notes of “My December,” Clarkson sings a different tune by writing, “Thank you to my manager Jeff Kwatinetz for arguing with me and fighting for me!
I hate ‘yes’ people, and you are far from that, always wanting the best out of me and for me. Sometimes I want to punch you, but most of the time you inspire me and make me laugh, because you are one of the most passionate and driven people I have ever worked with.
Thank you for believing in me! I STILL CAN’T BELIEVE WE GOT THIS RECORD OUT, HA HA!!”

Despite the pleasantries, Kelly fired Kwatinetz, who was once engaged to Brittany Murphy, and hired Reba McEntire’s manager/husband Narvel Blackstock. Let’s hope Blackstock can save our little Miss Independent from self-destructing.
“My December” debuted this week at #2 on the Billboard charts selling over 290,000 copies. Yeah, yeah. Since u been gone!

Donald Trump is stirring it up again with Rosie O’Donnell – this time, by sending her boss, Barbara Walters, an undergarment O’Donnell once wore in a movie.
 Trump got the outfit – which Page Six describes as “a bustier” or “a giant pair of panties,” which Ro wore in the 1994 flick “Exit to Eden” –- out of the blue from a fan, who had bought it at auction and framed it.
Trump says he “didn’t want it” in his office because “it was really gross,” so he sent to Walters.
Then, on Monday’s “The View,” O’Donnell brought up the bizarre present, only to be squelched by Babs.
“You want to hear what a 61-year-old businessman did today?” asked Rosie. “He sent Barbara …” at which point Walters interrupted her and stopped that dead in its tracks. Walters tells Page Six, “I have no desire to continue a feud with Donald Trump.”
