The Forbes’ Best Paid Celebrities Under 30 list is certainly an all-star cast!
Lady Gaga topped the list by grossing $170 million. She is followed by the youngest celeb to make the roll, 17-year-old teen heartthrob Justin Bieber, who raked in $53 million.
Miami Heat star LeBron James came in third with $48 million, fourth place went to tennis star Roger Federer with $47 million, while Taylor Swift rounded out the top five with $45 million.
Carrie Underwood brought in a cool $15 million, which placed her in the No. 19 slot.
Other celebs on the list include Katy Perry with $44 million, Rihanna with $29 million, Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart who tied with $20 million and Miley Cyrus who earned $15 million.

Oprah has held on to the top spot of Forbes‘ annual 100 most powerful and wealthiest celebrities in the world nearly every year for the past seven years but today it’s been announced that Lady GaGa has knocked her off the top spot. In total the full 100 celebrities earned a combined total of $4.5 billion over the past year but the list doesn’t just go based on money, it also goes on social media and other stuff which is how GaGa bumped Oprah because let’s face it when it comes to the media GaGa is the most used name in the world at the moment. Forbes have come up with their annual list of the 10 top earning Supermodels in the world and it’s pretty much full of the same faces that have been dominating the list the past few years. This list was made up from their earnings from May 2010-May 2011. Here is where they all rank:
10. Candice Swanepoel, $3 million
Swanepoel is taking Europe by storm–she was the cover girl and star of an expansive spread in February’s Italian Vogue. Also featured in True Religion ads, Swanepoel has been hailed as the world’s next top model. She was recently the center of controversy when critics claimed she appeared “shockingly thin” at a Victoria’s Secret swimsuit event next to curvaceous Angels Alessandra Ambrosio and Adriana Lima.
09. Natalia Vodianova, $4 million
Vodianova’s fragrance campaign with Guerlain helped the 29-year-old pull in $4 million over the last year. Vodianova runs the Naked Heart Foundation, a charity that raises money to provide playgrounds in Russia.
08. Carolyn Murphy, $4.3 million
The one-time Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue cover girl has contracts with Tiffany & Co., Tom Ford and more. The model has also tried her hand at acting, appearing in Barry Levinson’s Liberty Heights. Endorsements over the years: Prada, Gucci, Dolce & Gabbana, DKNY, Ralph Lauren, Calvin Klein, Jantzen, Lord & Taylor, Anne Klein and the Gap.
07. Lara Stone, $4.5 million
Stone has inked big contracts with Calvin Klein, Versace, H&M, Forum, Prada and Donna Karan. In the fall of 2010 the Dutch cover girl signed on as the exclusive face of Calvin Klein Inc. Other campaigns have included Cavalli, Givenchy, MaxMara, Nicole Fahri¸ Calvin, H&M and Levi’s.
06. Daria Werbowy, $4.5 million
Werbowy earned $4.5 million since last May, anchored by a posh contract from fragrance and makeup giant Lancôme Paris.
05. Alessandra Ambrosio, $5 million
Ambrosio has become a familiar star in campaigns for Dolce & Gabbana and Moschino. The supermodel recently became the face of Brazilian sportswear brand Colcci together with Ashton Kutcher, shooting a steamy denim ad together. The duo also walked the catwalk during Fashion Week in Sao Paulo. In addition, Ambrosio was chosen to star in Carlos Miele’s international jeans campaign.
04. Adriana Lima, $8 million
Sometimes touted as the world’s sexiest model, the Brazilian recently starred in ads for Spanish luxury brand Loewe. She continues to collaborate with Ricardo Tischi of Givenchy and has become the face of Brazilian fashion brand Forum. She recently inked a deal as a spokeswoman for Megacity by Votsu, a Brazilian social gaming company. Lima is married to basketball player Marko Jaric.
03. Kate Moss, $13.5 million
Fashion’s onetime bad girl added more than $5 million to her earnings over the last year, thanks to new deals with the likes of Dior, Vogue Eyewear and Cidade Jardim. Other endorsements include Longchamp, David Yurman, Rimmel and YSL.
02. Heidi Klum, $20 million
This year Klum struck a deal with activewear company New Balance, creating line of tops, dresses and athletic apparel, dubbed HKNB, that will be sold exclusively on Amazon.com. In October the Project Runway star inked a 20-episode deal for a new show on Lifetime, called Seriously Funny Kids. Her Germany’s Next Top Model continues to dominate the ratings in Deutschland.

Since leaving Victoria’s Secret in 2007, Bündchen has gotten married and become a mother, but she has yet to slow down. Bündchen remains the face of numerous campaigns and endorsement deals throughout the United States, Europe, Asia and Latin America. From H&M to Dior to Versace, she stands behind brands that represent both luxury and affordability. Her selling power is quantifiable: Bündchen’s endorsement was credited in Procter & Gamble’s most recent quarterly earnings call for helping to increase Pantene’s sale in Brazil by 40%. Her most lucrative deals go beyond modeling: She earns a percentage of sales from the Ipanema flipflops bearing her name, which today rival Brazil’s well-known Havaianas brand. To top it off, most of Bündchen’s paychecks are paid in euros and Brazilian reals, resulting in an increase in earnings as both currencies appreciated against the dollar by double-digit percentages over the last year.

Forbes have come up with a list of the top earning on-screen couples ever and it’s pretty much full of people who starred together in a franchise. As opposed to back in the day when Hollywood stars would star in a few movies together. Before I even read the list I knew who would be on top, take a look for yourself…
Ben Stiller and Teri Polo, $1 billion
Little Fockers might be one of the worst reviewed movies of 2010, but it is making a lot of money. So far the Meet the Parents trilogy has earned $1 billion at the box office. With those kinds of numbers, a fourth movie can’t be far behind. Expect more trouble for the young marrieds played by Stiller and Polo.

Robert Downey Jr. and Gwyneth Paltrow, $1.2 billion
We didn’t include this couple when we first did this list last year because after the first Iron Man, they still weren’t really a couple. But in the second movie, Downey’s Tony Stark admitted his feelings for Paltrow’s Pepper Potts. No word on if Paltrow will make an appearance in the upcoming film The Avengers, which will feature Iron Man, among other heroes.
Natalie Portman and Hayden Christensen, $1.5 billion
Hayden Christensen didn’t make his Star Wars debut as Anakin Skywalker until the fifth movie, Attack of the Clones. But his relationship with Natalie Portman’s Padme was crucial to the sci-fi tale as the pair ultimately became parents to Luke and Leia.
Shia LaBeouf and Megan Fox, $1.5 billion
Transformers is really all about robots that turn into cars but somewhere in the first two movies was a love story between LaBeouf’s Sam Witwicky and Fox’s Mikaela Banes. The two couldn’t have been that inseparable though because director Michael Bay decided to jettison Fox in the third movie in favor of Victoria’s Secret model Rosie Huntington-Whiteley.
Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart, $1.8 billion
While romance is secondary in some of the films discussed on this list, it’s the main theme in the Twilight series about a human girl, played by Stewart, who falls for Pattinson’s sensitive vampire. There are still two films left in the successful franchise. A movie based on the first half of Breaking Dawn hits theaters this coming November.
Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet, $1.9 billion
For a film with equal parts romance and action it’s hard to do better than Titanic. The 1997 film featured a pair of doomed, class-crossed lovers set against the epic sinking of the giant cruise ship. The film is the second-highest-grossing of all time with $1.8 billion. DiCaprio and Winslet appeared together again in the much smaller film Revolutionary Road in 2008.
Orlando Bloom and Keira Knightley, $2.7 billion
Yes, the Pirates franchise is mostly about Johnny Depp staggering around like a drunk who just fell into a case of makeup. But for the first three films there was a romance that helped ground the movies. Seems like Disney and producer Jerry Bruckheimer didn’t think it was crucial to the story though. Bloom and Knightley’s characters have been written out of the fourth installment.
Viggo Mortensen and Liv Tyler, $3 billion
As Aragorn and the elf Arwen, Mortensen and Tyler play a pair of lovers struggling to maintain a relationship amid an epic quest to destroy evil. The pair helped make the fantasy films a bit more relatable for people who got confused by all the characters in Middle Earth. No word on if the pair will appear in the upcoming prequel: The Hobbit.
Rupert Grint and Emma Watson, $6.3 billion
It took seven movies but Ron and Hermione are finally acting on their long simmering love. In the most recent Harry Potter film, Rupert Grint got to do a bit of bravura acting watching his worst fears come to life, including Watson’s Hermione falling in love with Harry instead of him. Expect the pair to finally smooch in the final film hitting theaters this summer.

Forbes have come up with yet another annual list and this time it’s Hollywoods most overpaid actors, it seems being a comedian is hard work because 6 out of the 10 actors are comedy actors. To come up with this list they compared the actors paycheck to the overall box office revenue. There is only one woman on the list.
Will Ferrell
The former Saturday Night Live star built up to a big payday with a series of successful films, like Elf and Talladega Nights. But a big payday puts a star at risk when it comes to return on investment: His movies have to be home runs. So Land of the Lost, which cost an estimated $100 million to make and earned only $69 million, really hurt the star. For every $1 Ferrell was paid, his films earned an average $3.35.
Eddie Murphy
Murphy was once a sure bet in family-friendly comedies like Dr. Dolittle and Daddy Day Care. He’s still a sure bet in animated films like Shrek, but thanks to two big flops (Imagine That and Meet Dave) he’s become box office poison when it comes to live action films. For every $1 Murphy gets paid, his films earn an average $4.45.
Denzel Washington
Later this month the leading man will star in the film Unstoppable, a prototypical Washington flick. It is directed by Tony Scott, who has partnered with Washington five times before, and features the actor as an everyman hero–on a runaway train. Here’s hoping it helps his return-on-investment number. For every $1 Washington earned, his films returned an average $5.10.
Seth Rogen
The funny man got hit by a movie called (ironically) Funny People. The Judd Apatow-produced film cost $75 million to make and earned only $71 million at the box office. His upcoming superhero movie, The Green Hornet, doesn’t look like it will improve his standing much. It was moved from Christmas to an inauspicious January release date. For every $1 Rogen was paid, his movies earned $6.75.
Tom Cruise
Cruise was once the biggest movie star in the world. Now he seems in constant search of a comeback. Valkyrie didn’t do it, despite a respectable $200 million take at the global box office. Knight & Day with Cameron Diaz (which hit theaters after our deadline for consideration) also failed to make an impact. Now Cruise fans are focused on the upcoming fourth installment of his successful Mission: Impossible series. For every $1 Cruise was paid, his films earned an average $7.20.
Drew Barrymore
Barrymore has struggled at the box office lately. Films like Lucky You and Everybody’s Fine have underperformed. Her latest romantic comedy, Going the Distance, did a bit better, earning $42 million at the box office on a budget of $32 million. That movie came out after our deadline, but it’s unlikely to help her return on investment number much. For every $1 Barrymore was paid, her films earned an average $7.45.
Matt Damon
When he appears in the Bourne films Damon is a fantastic return on investment. Outside of those movies, not so much. Green Zone, Invictus and The Informant all underperformed. Unfortunately for Damon, it looks like he’s not going to appear in the next Bourne film. Until he has another big hit, for every $1 Damon gets paid, his films earn an average $8.30.
Vince Vaughn
The actor had a big hit with Four Christmases, but it was overshadowed by Fred Claus, which earned only $98 million at the global box office. Vaughn continues to stay in his comedic comfort zone with his upcoming Ron Howard film The Dilemma, which has come under fire for using a gay joke in the trailer. For every $1 Vaughn was paid, his films earned $8.35.
Adam Sandler
Sandler had a huge hit with the movie Grown Ups. It was his highest grossing movie ever at the global box office with $270 million in ticket sales. But that movie came out after our deadline. For the sake of this list, Sandler’s average was weighed down by the film Funny People, which grossed only $71 million. For every $1 Sandler was paid, his films earned an average $8.45.
Jim Carrey
Carrey’s last movie, Yes Man, was a bona fide hit. Unfortunately the two other films we counted for this list, The Number 23 and Fun With Dick & Jane, were not. Carrey is taking a huge chance with his next film, I Love You Phillip Morris, in which he plays a gay con artist who gets thrown in jail. For every $1 Carrey was paid, his films earned $8.60.

Forbes have come up with their annual list of the top earning dead celebrities for the year 2010 and the 13 stars earned a combined total of $506 million. To calculate their earnings Forbes took things into account such as royalties and licensing of the persons image.
13. Aaron Spelling, $5 million
As one of the founding fathers of modern television, Aaron Spelling spent five decades producing long-running, widely syndicated shows such as Charlie’s Angels, Dynasty and 7th Heaven. Although Spelling Television’s contemporary update on Melrose Place was canceled earlier this year, his Beverly Hills 90210 revival just began its third season on the CW. Meanwhile, Spelling Entertainment owns the rights to Republic Pictures’ archives, including classic films like High Noon and It’s a Wonderful Life.
11 (tie). Steve McQueen, $6 million
Three decades after his passing, the onetime Bullitt star continues to personify cool. McQueen’s image and likeness have been licensed for a host of signature collections for high-end brands like Dolce & Gabbana and Persol sunglasses. More recently he became the face of Tommy Hilfiger’s fall “icon collection” and UBS’ global “We Will Not Rest” campaign.
11 (tie). Jimi Hendrix, $6 million
It’s been 40 years since Hendrix died, but his music is still influencing wannabe rockers. His 1967 debut Are You Experienced has been licensed to the third version of the “Rock Band” videogame, and his estate recently released a new batch of previously unheard recordings. Fender Guitars has signed on to present the 2010 Experience Hendrix tour, featuring one of the star’s former bandmates.
10. Richard Rodgers, $7 million
In 2009 the Netherlands’ Imagem Music Group bought the rights to the collaborative catalog of Richard Rodgers and Oscar Hammerstein for a reported $200 million. Without those assets, Rogers still lands on our list, thanks to his earlier work with Lorenz Hart. That catalog boasts such standards as “My Funny Valentine” and “The Lady is a Tramp.”
09. George Steinbrenner, $8 million
Professional sports has never seen a more iconic franchise owner than George Steinbrenner. The New York Yankees boss carried the club back to its championship heritage, brought a new stadium to the Bronx and took the team’s famous interlocking NY logo global. Although Steinbrenner passed away during the team’s most recent season, he continues to earn as long as the Yankees continue to win.
08. Albert Einstein, $10 million
Associated with all things intelligent, Einstein’s name continues to be used to peddle Baby Einstein products, a majority Disney-owned venture designed to make infants smarter. Other lucrative tie-ins include Italy’s Banca Profilo’s “Face Value” campaign, Chrysler’s Ram brand truck ads and a collection of A.J. Morgan “geek chic” glasses. The scientist’s estate has also expanded into videogames with a Nintendo DS brain game that retails for about $50.
07. Dr. Seuss (Theodor Geisel), $11 million
With his instantly recognizable rhyming scheme, Dr. Seuss is the best-selling children’s author in history. Horton, the Grinch and his other iconic characters are now reaching audiences through iPhone apps and an attraction at Orlando’s Universal Studios theme park. According to Nielsen, Seuss’ titles are on pace to sell 3 million copies this year.
06. Stieg Larsson, $15 million
Larsson died before The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo was published, so he didn’t live to see the incredible success of his series of three books, known as The Millennium Trilogy. (A fourth book has reportedly been found.) More than 40 million copies of the books have been sold in 44 languages, and Sony is producing American films based on the books. They will star Daniel Craig as Mikael Blomkvist.
05. John Lennon, $17 million
It’s been nearly 30 years since The Beatles’ John Lennon was killed in New York City. In what would have been his 70th year, EMI has launched the “Gimme Some Truth” campaign, re-releasing much of Lennon’s catalog, resulting in several Top 10 chart appearances. His estate still earns from the “Beatles Rock Band” videogame and licensing deals with the likes of Cisco and Mont Blanc.
04. Charles Schulz, $33 million
The Peanuts brand changed ownership again this year, with Iconix purchasing the cartoon and its characters for $175 million to form Peanuts Worldwide, LLC. With the acquisition, Charles M. Schulz Creative Associates will maintain a 20% stake in the new company. The late Schulz continues to earn from his comic strip, which appears in 2,200 newspapers across 75 countries.
03. J.R.R. Tolkien, $50 million
The last Lord of the Rings movie hit theaters eight years ago, but Tolkien is still a hot topic in Hollywood. A two-movie adaptation of his book The Hobbit is currently in preproduction in New Zealand. All that Hollywood attention has helped move his books. According to Nielsen, Tolkien sold just shy of 500,000 copies in the last year.
02. Elvis Presley, $60 million
The King of Rock ‘n’ Roll’s income ballooned to $60 million, up $5 million from last year, thanks to Graceland admissions and the Elvis Presley Cirque du Soleil spectacular launched in Las Vegas earlier this year. His portfolio of more than 200 licensing and merchandise deals got a nice boost from the late star’s 75th birthday celebration. Among the commemorative events: Graceland exhibits, touring tribute concerts and an Elvis-themed cruise to the Bahamas.
01. Michael Jackson, $275 million
The King of Pop passed away last summer, but he’s made more money over the past year than any musician, dead or alive. Jackson not only took the No.1 spot on our 10th annual ranking of the Top-Earning Dead Celebrities, with gross earnings of $275 million, he out-earned the other 12 deceased stars on the list combined. His $275 million total was greater than the earnings of the two most profitable living acts, U2 and AC/DC, combined. Jackson’s posthumous earnings have been bolstered by shrewd negotiations by his estate, including a merchandising deal and the rights to his name and likeness for the Sony film This Is It, which grossed over a quarter of a billion dollars.
Funny how not one of these celebrities is a woman, I guess Hollywood has and always will be sexist when it comes to wages.

Forbes have release their annual list of the 10 top-earning men in Prime-Time television and as predicted they make way more money than their female counterparts do. Nearly double the $162 million combined total the women made during the same period of June 2009-June 2010.
10. Chris Meloni, Estimated earnings: $9.5 million
Though ratings for Law & Order: Special Victims Unit took a hit when it was bumped up an hour to make room for Jay Leno’s short-lived 10 p.m. talk show last season, the series remains the franchise’s strongest effort. Now that the Law & Order mother ship has concluded its lengthy run, the New York-based actor and his co-star, Mariska Hargitay, become the unofficial faces of the larger franchise.
9. Hugh Laurie, Estimated earnings: $10 million
As cranky Dr. House in Fox’s long-running medical drama, Laurie continues to lure ratings and fans. The only place he seems to fall short: the Emmys, where the 51-year-old Brit is a frequent nominee but never a winner. Over on the big screen, he has joined the long-gestating indie Oranges opposite Leighton Meester and Catherine Keener.
8. Patrick Dempsey, Estimated earnings: $11 million
As the best-paid man on set, Dempsey continues to send viewers swooning as Dr. McDreamy on ABC’s long-running medical drama Grey’s Anatomy. When he isn’t donning scrubs at Seattle Grace, the face of Avon can be found revving up his race cars or beefing up his film résumé. Up next, a role in the latest installment of Michael Bay’s Transformers franchise.
7. Laurence Fishburne, Estimated earnings: $12 million
Though ratings have taken a tumble since he stepped in to replace William Petersen, Fishburne has something else to boast about: one of the richest TV deals around. Over on the big screen, the Academy Award nominated actor recently turned up in the Robert Rodriguez alien flick Predators. Up next: He’ll appear in Steve Soderbergh’s star-studded sci-fi thriller Contagion, shooting this fall. Off screen, it’s Fishburne’s daughter, a budding adult film star, who has gained the bulk of the headlines.
6. Kiefer Sutherland, Estimated earnings: $20 million
After eight highly rated seasons, Sutherland’s star vehicle ended its run in May. Though details are sparse, a movie version of the long-running 24 has been announced. What the show’s executive producer Howard Gordon has made public: his plan for Sutherland to give big-screen action stars Bruce Willis (Die Hard) and Harrison Ford (The Fugitive) a run for their money. In the meantime, Sutherland–or rather, Sutherland’s voice–graced the silver screen this past spring as raspy alpha dog Bosco in the animated flick Marmaduke.
5. Charlie Sheen, Estimated earnings: $30 million
For its fifth consecutive year, Sheen’s long-running CBS sitcom Two and a Half Men rounded out the television season as the No. 1 comedy in total viewers. After publicly flirting with the idea of departing the hit show, he negotiated the genre’s richest contract, and is back to donning bowling shirts as eternal bachelor Charlie Harper. Off screen, domestic troubles with his real-estate-investor wife, Brooke Mueller, have kept Sheen in the courtroom and the tabloids.
4. Steve Carell, Estimated earnings: $34 million
As The Office’s awkwardly endearing boss Michael Scott, Carell lures viewers and critical affection for a network in need of both. He generated headlines this spring when he announced this coming season would be his last. Guessing who will replace him has become a favorite parlor game among TV fans in recent months. Over on the big screen, the former Daily Show correspondent starred opposite Paul Rudd in Dinner for Schmucks and lent his voice to the part of protagonist Gru in the animated flick Despicable Me.
3. Donald Trump, Estimated earnings: $50 million
The Apprentice once again helped keep The Donald relevant while raking in extra cash for the billionaire. Trump, who landed at No. 153 on the Forbes 400 with a net worth of $2.4 billion, continues to expand his brand, promoting his golf courses through the Golf Channel and producing beauty pageants. The real estate mogul also reaps millions from his books and speaking engagements. The Trump stamp can be found on products ranging from alcohol to neckties and high-end mattresses.
2. Ryan Seacrest, Estimated earnings: $51 million
He hosts American Idol, the American Top 40 radio countdown, On Air with Ryan Seacrest, E! News and ABC’s New Year’s Eve special. In addition to lucrative deals with Clear Channel Radio ($15 million a year), Idol parent CKX ($15 million) and the Comcast Entertainment Group ($15 million), Seacrest also develops and produces TV shows, including E’s Keeping up with the Kardashians and ABC’s Jamie Oliver’s Food Revolution. The Atlanta native also shills for Procter & Gamble, Coca-Cola and Microsoft’s Bing, and is in the initial stages of launching a new cable network with talent agency CAA and entertainment giant AEG.

Cowell made much of his bounty from American Idol, the top-rated series he chose to walk away from this past spring. (Come January, new judges Steven Tyler and Jennifer Lopez will attempt to fill his shoes.) Also padding his wallet: fees from the Got Talent and X Factor franchises, along with profits from his lucrative record label. In 2011 the Brit who TV fans love to loathe will add another potential cash machine, when his latest singing competition show, The X Factor (finally) crosses the pond.

Forbes have come up with their annual list of the 10 top-earning women in Prime-Time television and it’s full of the usual people you would expect to appear on the list.
10. (tie) Jennifer Love Hewitt, Estimated earnings: $6.5 million
The CBS show Ghost Whisperer, on which Hewitt served as producer and star, ended its run in May after five seasons. The former Party of Five star also played a prostitute in the Lifetime movie The Client List and offered a scene-stealing cameo in NBC’s Love Bites pilot. In March she shared personal relationships struggles in her book The Day I Shot Cupid.
10. (tie) Calista Flockhart, Estimated earnings: $6.5 million
Though her on-screen struggles, be them health-, politics- or marriage-related, as Kitty Walker have been many, Flockhart has little to complain about off-screen. As the ensemble cast’s top-earner, the former Ally McBeal star banked $6.5 million last year. Arguably better: she finally tied the knot with long-term beau and fellow actor Harrison Ford.

With both a newborn and a film career to nurture, Heigl walked away from her Emmy-winning role as Izzie Stevens on Grey’s Anatomy. Thanks to a string of box office successes, like Knocked Up and 27 Dresses,Heigl commands $12 million a flick, which puts her among the best-paid ladies in Hollywood. More recently her turn opposite Ashton Kutcher in the critically panned Killers proved a dud. Up next: Life As We Know It, where she and co-star Josh Duhamel become caregivers to an orphaned girl when their mutual best friends die in an accident.
2. Tyra Banks, Estimated earnings: $25 million
Though the supermodel turned super-personality concluded her daytime talk show run in May, she’ll continue to serve up ABC’s True Beauty and her popular unscripted model competition series, America’s Next Top Model. Forbes have come up with a list of the 10 most profitable actors in Hollywood at the moment, now don’t confuse this list with the most paid actors because this is based on how much money the movie studio makes back for every dollar they paid the actors.
10. Sarah Jessica Parker, $17
When it comes to Sex and the City movies, Sarah Jessica Parker is a great investment. In other movies, not so much. Her 2009 film Did You Hear About the Morgans earned an anemic $85 million at the global box office. Compare that with her two Sex and the City movies, which have earned a total $705 million.
9. Nicolas Cage, $17
Cage makes our list mostly thanks to the 2009 film Knowing, which earned a healthy $184 million on an estimated budget of $50 million. The budget was able to stay low because the producers went with Cage over someone who would have cost much more like Will Smith or Johnny Depp.
8. Johnny Depp, $18
Depp is the rare actor on our list who earns more than almost every actor in Hollywood but still manages to offer a good return on investment. That’s because his films do phenomenally. Alice in Wonderland has earned $1 billion. Public Enemies brought in $215 million. As long as he continues to be a major draw overseas and his films keep performing, Depp will continue to get one of the highest paydays in Hollywood.
7. Meryl Stree, $21
The actress (2008′s most profitable actress) proves again and again that age and gender do not determine box-office draw. Mamma Mia earned $610 million at the global box office. It’s Complicated brought in $220 million. As soon as Streep starts earning the same as her male peers, she’ll likely work her way off of our list.
6. Jennifer Aniston, $21
Another woman on our list: Jennifer Aniston (2007′s most profitable actress). The star makes a surprising appearance in sixth place with a $21 return for every $1 she is paid. (She’s tied with Meryl Streep.) Although one of her included movies, Love Happens, was a huge flop, He’s Just Not that Into You and The Bounty Hunter (with $136 million at the global box office on an estimated budget of $40 million) actually did well.
5. Cate Blanchett, $27
The actress has played the female lead in two recent high-grossing films: The Curious Case of Benjamin Button and Robin Hood (which brought in $310 million despite a weak opening). In both cases she earned significantly less than her male costars, which is why Blanchett makes our top 10 list while Russell Crowe and Brad Pitt do not.
4. Robert Downey Jr., $33
It wasn’t so long ago that Downey (2008′s most profitable actor) was a Hollywood pariah because of his drug and alcohol problems. That helped shrink his quote when he started his comeback in 2008 with the first Iron Man. Since then he’s starred in some of the highest-grossing films of the past few years, including Sherlock Holmes ($517 million) and Iron Man 2 ($622 million) while his payday has stayed relatively low.
3. Daniel Radcliffe, $61
The Harry Potter movies are the kind of high-budget films that would usually hurt an actor on this list unless he was earning under $10 million total. But Radcliffe lands in third place (with a $61 return for ever dollar he earns) because the films earn so much money. The entire franchise has so far brought in $5.4 billion at the global box office making his growing salary seem like a drop in the bucket.
2. Anne Hathaway, $64
For the sake of our return on investment list, being a woman in Hollywood is a good thing. They tend to earn less so when their films hit, they offer a good return. Hathaway lands so high on our list thanks to Alice in Wonderland. For every dollar she earns studios earn $64 off of her films. Most of that payback is coming from Alice. The Disney 3-D film was a gigantic hit earning $1 billion at the global box office, and Hathaway earned much less than star Johnny Depp. But she also benefits from 2009′s Bride Wars, which was a modest hit earning $115 million at the global box office on a low estimated budget of $30 million.
1. Shia LaBeouf, $81
LaBeouf tops our list for the second year in a row thanks to his relatively low-paid work in high-earning films like Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull and the second Transformers movie. As his box office grows so will his quote, which means it will be harder for him to stay at the top of our list unless his films earn proportionally more money. When LaBeouf starred in the first Transformers movie in 2007, Viacom’s Paramount Studio was able to pay him under $5 million. It had to bump that up considerably for the second film (which earned $833 million in 2009), but LaBeouf still isn’t earning $20 million upfront to star in a picture.
As a result, he offers a great return on investment. For every $1 studios spend on the 24-year-old actor his films return an average $81 of profit. For our list this year LaBeouf also benefits from the fourth Indiana Jones film, which earned $790 million in 2008. George Lucas, Steven Spielberg and Harrison Ford split the bulk of the profits from that movie leaving LaBeouf as a profitable costar. As the actor’s fame (and box-office earnings) increase he’ll be able to demand more for each film which will hurt his return on investment number unless the films are gigantic blockbusters. That could be the case with the next Transformers movie. LaBeouf was able to ask for more money upfront but because the movie is being filmed in 3-D, it should earn even more than Transformers 2.

Nobody would argue that 2010 has been an up-and-down year for Sandra Bullock, given her best actress Oscar for “The Blind Side” followed by her divorce from scandal-plagued husband Jesse James.
But on Tuesday, Bullock landed atop Hollywood’s heap again when financial website Forbes.com named her the highest paid actress of the past 12 months having earned $56 million from two box office hits, romantic comedy “The Proposal” and football film, “The Blind Side.”
Bullock not only received a fee for acting, but also participated in the profits, and for both films, the box office numbers were hefty, according to Forbes.com. “The Blind Side” took in nearly $310 million at global box offices on a budget of around $30 million, while “Proposal” racked up just under $320 million and cost roughly $40 million.
Tied for the No. 2 spot were Reese Witherspoon and Cameron Diaz, both making $32 million. Though Witherspoon has not been on screen since 2008, she received advance paychecks for upcoming films, “How Do You Know” and “Water for Elephants”.
Diaz’s pot of gold was filled with money from the “Knight and Day” and “Shrek” films, which have grossed $2.8 billion at the global box office.
Jennifer Aniston came in at fourth place with $27 million, and “Sex and the City” star Sarah Jessica Parker was No. 5 at $25 million.
To determine actresses’ compensation, Forbes.com talked to talent agents, managers, producers and lawyers and looked at other means of revenue such as perfume and clothing lines and ad campaigns.
Forbes.com based its figures on earnings from June 2009 to June 2010. Angelina Jolie and Jennifer Aniston were the highest paid actresses during a similar period one year earlier.

Large endorsement deals with Sony and CoverGirl helped her bottom line, too.

LeBron James snagged his second straight MVP award this year as the NBA’s top player, yet his Cleveland Cavaliers team was bounced from the playoffs by the Boston Celtics. James earned $15.8 million from the Cavs and almost twice that through endorsements. His biggest deal is with Nike, and he signed an extension this year that pays more than $10 million per year. James added McDonald’s to his endorsement portfolio in January in a deal worth an estimated $4 million annually. His new contract with the Miami Heat will be factored into next year’s total.

It was a year to remember for Roger Federer as he reached the finals of all four Grand Slam tourneys in 2009 and captured the titles at the French Open (which completed his career Grand Slam) and Wimbledon (which gave him the record for most Grand Slam titles ever at 15). Federer has amassed the most impressive endorsement portfolio in sports, including Credit Suisse, Gillette, Mercedes-Benz, Nike, Rolex and Wilson, among others. He has earned a record $56 million in career prize money.
8. Eli Manning, $40 million
His six-year, $97 million contract signed in August made the New York Giants quarterback the highest-paid player in the NFL. Off the field, the younger Manning brother cashes in on a slew of endorsement deals with companies like Samsung, Reebok, Toyota and Gatorade.
9. Terrell Suggs, $38 million
The Ravens star signed a six-year, $63 million contract last year that made him highest-paid linebacker in NFL. His follow-up: a disappointing season complete with a severe MCL sprain, the result of an illegal block by Browns quarterback Brady Quinn.
10. Cristiano Ronaldo, $36 million
Last June Real Madrid paid a record $132 million transfer fee to Manchester United for the rights to Ronaldo. The 2008 FIFA Player of the Year did not get a cut of the transfer money, but he was rewarded with a six-year deal worth $18 million annually. Ronaldo is challenging David Beckham as the most marketable player in soccer. His biggest deal is with Nike, which pays him $8 million annually.
11. The Jonas Brothers, $35.5 million
Though they stepped into the limelight as part of a Disney show, the Jonas Brothers ache to be taken seriously as musicians. They launched a world tour that grossed $95 million, including $30 million overseas, while playing to an average audience of 14,000 fans a night. Another sign of maturity: Nick Jonas released a record this year with a side project called Nick Jonas and the Administration.
12. Philip Rivers, $32 million
A year ago in August Rivers signed a six-year, $92 million contract with the Chargers. Similarly impressive: Only Steve Young has a higher career passing rating among quarterbacks with at least 1,500 attempts.
On the day that I checked my bank account and seen I barely have enough to pay rent, this is not the day I wanted to see how much these celebrities are making. But good for them, I guess.

Forbes have released their annual 100 of the most powerful and highest earning celebrities in the world, when compiling the list they looked at how much the celebrities earned and how much star power they have based on media exposure. The list is based from June 2009-June 2010. Here’s the top 15, the full list is after the jump below:

News that this coming season of The Oprah Winfrey Show will be her last helped the self-made billionaire garner more media attention than any other member of the Celebrity 100. Cowell made perhaps the biggest decision of his life this year when he ended his Idol run in favor of producing his own talent show, The X Factor, in America. Cowell, who also produces America’s Got Talent, says The X Factor format is his favorite. It won’t compete against Idol.

Jay-Z likes to say he’s not a businessman; he’s a business, man–and it’s not idle boasting. The rapper-turned-mogul retains his crown as hip-hop’s cash king thanks to a new album and investments in the 40/40 nightclub chain, the Broadway show “Fela!” and the New Jersey Nets basketball team. Jay-Z’s biggest boost comes from his Blueprint 3 tour, which grossed over $1 million per concert this year. He still makes less than wife Beyoncé.
There’s some surprises on the list but for me I fully expected Oprah Winfrey to be back on top, I just didn’t think Angelina Jolie would fall from being on top last year down 17 spots this year.

Are you all ready for a bit of depression? Forbes have released their annual list of the Top-Earning Celebrity Couples and just like last year the top spot is owned by Beyonce and Jay-Z. But unlike last year the couple made $162 million, this year they earned $122 million. A sign of the recession?
01. Jay-Z and Beyonce Knowles : $122 million
Between Jay-Z’s musical empire, Beyonce’s chart-topping hit “Single Ladies” and several clothing lines and ad deals, this couple knows how to use their fame to make money. Jay-Z has a hit with “Empire State of Mind,” which he performed with Alicia Keys at the World Series. His next tour launches in February. Last year Beyonce sang at Obama’s inaugural ball and her film, Obsessed, earned $74 million at the worldwide box office.
02. Harrison Ford and Calista Flockhart : $69 million
For the past few years Ford has stayed out of the spotlight, but he returned in a big way in 2008 with Indiana Jones and the Crystal Skull. Ford earned $65 million for his work in the role. His girlfriend, Calista Flockhart, is no lazy daisy. She stars on the ABC show Brothers & Sisters.
03. Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie : $55 million
Pitt and Jolie have always gotten plenty of attention, but now they’re making plenty of money too. The Curious Case of Benjamin Button was one of Pitt’s highest grossing films, earning $334 million at the worldwide box office. Jolie is profiting by embracing her inner action hero. Wanted earned $341 million at the worldwide box office. Later this year she’ll appear in Salt as a disgraced CIA agent.
04. Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith : $48 million
Smith is without a doubt the biggest movie star in the world. His films have earned a total $5.7 billion at the worldwide box office and studio heads say he earns every penny of his $20 million paycheck. Most of the couple’s earnings come from Smith, but Pinkett Smith has a growing career of her own. She’s been writing and producing films as well as voicing Gloria the hippo in the Madagascar films.
05. David and Victoria Beckham : $46 million
Beckham is still a worldwide soccer sensation at the ripe old age of 34. Part of the year he’s a star in Los Angeles with the Galaxy. The rest of the year he plays for A.C. Milan, which should help him land a spot on the England team to appear in a record-tying fourth World Cup this summer. Beckham’s wife, Victoria (better known as Posh Spice), is scheduled to appear as a guest judge on this year’s American Idol.
06. Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi : $36 million
DeGeneres has become an entertainment mogul. She has a successful talk show, shills for American Express and owns part of a dog food company. Next she’ll take over for Paula Abdul as a judge on American Idol. Her significant other, de Rossi, stars in the ABC show Better Off Ted, which has garnered a cult following but seems poised for cancellation.
07. Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson : $35.5 million
As one of the few actors in Hollywood who can still command a $20 million paycheck, Hanks is the main breadwinner in his house. He had another hit this year with Angels & Demons. The film earned $486 million at the worldwide box office. This summer he’ll once again voice Woody in Toy Story 3. Wilson has a much more low-key career, but she still pops up in best friend roles. She recently appeared with Meryl Streep in It’s Complicated.
08. Jim Carrey and Jenny McCarthy : $34 million
Carrey and McCarthy have been a couple for the last four years and in that time McCarthy’s profile has risen considerably. She’s gone from a Playboy model to an outspoken (and controversial) vaccine opponent. Carrey contributes the majority of money to the pair, but McCarthy will soon have her own television show under Oprah’s Harpo banner.
09. Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes : $33.5 million
Cruise and Holmes are a source of endless fascination for tabloids and they’re also very rich. Cruise is the family breadwinner, earning $33 million between June 2008 and June 2009. 10. Chris Martin and Gwyneth Paltrow : $33 million
As the front man for the group Coldplay, Martin outearns Paltrow. The group’s latest album, Viva la Vida, sold 2.6 million copies in the U.S. and 3 million in Europe. Paltrow will be the high-profile spouse in 2010 though when she reprises her role as Tony Stark’s assistant, Pepper Potts, in Iron Man 2.

Forbes have release their prime time top earning women list from June 1, 2008 to June 1, 2009. When coming up with the list they take into account earnings from television work, producing, movie work and any endorsements.
10. Ellen Pompeo (tie) – $6 million
Now in its sixth season, viewers still tune in to see the latest as Pompeo’s Meredith Grey simultaneously pushes away and pines after her husband, Dr. Derek “McDreamy” Shepherd, on ABC’s medical hit. Off camera, the Massachusetts native gave birth to her first child with her producer husband Chris Ivery.
10. Jennifer Love Hewitt – $6 million
Hewitt’s CBS star vehicle rolled out its fifth season last month. As she’s done in seasons past, she serves as a producer and lead actor on the female-friendly series. The former Party of Five star also shills pimple cream and other products for skincare company Proactiv.
9. Marcia Cross – $6.2 million
Cross’ comedic turn as the all-too-perfect Bree Van De Kamp on ABC’s hit series has earned her critical accolades, countless fans and a $225,000 per episode paycheck. Off set, she took on a role as a Motts spokeswoman.
8. Tina Fey – $7 million
Despite just 7 million weekly viewers–up 10% from last season–Fey’s comedy consistently garners critical and award-show praise. Still more impressive, she serves as creator, writer and star. She grabbed gobs of attention last fall for her impersonations of vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin on Saturday Night Live. In addition to striking a lucrative book deal during the 12-month period, she also filmed Date Night, a romantic comedy opposite fellow NBC star Steve Carell.
6. Maura Tierney – $8 million (tie)
As nurse turned doctor Abby Lockhart, Tierney spent a decade stitching up bodies at County General Hospital on NBC’s long-running medical drama ER. After a lengthy and lucrative run, the series and its fictional hospital finally closed its doors this past spring. The Emmy-nominated actress had grand plans to take on a new NBC drama, the upcoming Parenthood, before bowing out for health reasons.
6. Julia Louis-Dreyfus – $8 million (tie)
While its hardly Seinfeld money, Dreyfus makes a more than a healthy living as the star of CBS’ Wednesday night comedy. She’s also seen money from Seinfeld residuals and a Seinfeld-themed guest arc on HBO’s Curb Your Enthusiasm. Lest it stop there, the famously goofy star also serves as spokeswoman for Conagra’s Healthy Choice.
5. Mariska Hargitay – $8.5 million
After 10 seasons on the NBC program, the Emmy-winning actress and co-star Chris Meloni found themselves in the middle of a protracted contract dispute this past spring. Off-camera, Hargitay also struggled with a collapsed lung.
4. Eva Longoria Parker – $9 million
The Desperate Housewives vixen may have shed her model body and sexpot image in the show’s leap forward, but she still commands a pretty paycheck. In addition to her $225,000 per episode payday last season, she rakes in additional dough with endorsements like L’Oreal Paris.

The Emmy-winning actress recently launched her 10th season as showgirl turned blood-spatter analyst Catherine Willows on the lucrative CBS procedural. In an era where few shows deliver massive ratings much less massive profit, her series stands out.
Kathernie Heigl – $18 million
As cancer patient Izzie Stevens on the ABC drama Grey’s Anatomy, Heigl garnered tears and fans alike last season. Whether her character will ultimately survive the illness–and thus remain on the show–remains one of prime-time’s biggest guessing games. Over on the big-screen, the 30-year-old star appeared opposite Gerard Butler in another romantic comedy, The Ugly Truth. Proving her range, she’ll follow that with a starring role opposite Ashton Kutcher in the Lionsgate action comedy Five Killers.
Tyra Banks – $30 million
When it comes to supermodels turned super-personalities, Banks has her competition beat. Among the former cat-walker’s projects: her own production company, along with a slew of TV shows, including model competition series America’s Next Top Model, beauty competition show True Beauty and daytime chat-fest The Tyra Banks Show.
