So we all know that diamonds are a girl’s best friend—but pearls sure come in close second.
Maybe that is why lovely lady Jackie O never left the White House without her pearls, which are about to be auctioned at Bonhams‘ “Pioneers of Popular Culture” sale on August 15, predicted to go for a cool $47,000.
The three-strand pearl necklace with an emerald and diamond clasp was worn by the iconic first lady in the early ’60s as a symbol of her American royalty. Yet, insider sources said that Mrs. Kennedy’s neck candy actually may not the real thing!
Surprisingly, the pearls are only worth about a few hundred bucks, and it’s been rumored that the First Lady chose to wear cheap pearls since she was prone to misplacing them.
It’s Jackie O’s legacy that seems to have seriously increased the price. So if you care for a little bit of historical glamor, now’s the time to empty those savings.

40 years after the pictures showing President Kennedy‘s widow Jackie Onassis sunbathing naked the paparazzo who took them is finally revealing how he got the photos.

There has always been a huge mystery as to how Settimio Garritano, the Italian paparazzo, managed to get the photographs of Jackie sunbathing on a private Greek island. Jackie’s second husband Aristotle Onassis, a Greek shipping mogul, owned the private island of Skorpios so the former First Lady was free to do what ever she wanted.
The paparazzo heard rumors that she sunbathed naked on the beaches so he says that he managed to befriend one of the locals on the island and he then disguised himself as a gardener, when he knew that she was off sunbathing he took a boat out and hid himself which is when he seen her naked, speaking about it he says…
“It didn’t seem possible. She knew she’d been photographed before on Scorpios so why would she display herself? Then suddenly she appeared and wandered around the patio area. I concentrated on just taking the pictures, not composing them. It was a matter of moments, not even minutes.”
After taking the pictures he says that most editors refused to publish the photos until 1972 when Italian magazine Playmen put them in their magazine, they eventually published in the United States three years later in 1985 when Hustler put them in.
Aristotle Onassis at the time said that he didn’t care about the photographs and both he and Jackie Onassis take their clothes off to put on a bathing suit. Settimio Garritano is apparently looking to auction off the legendary images.

Police in Oregon say they’ve found graphic child pornography at the home of the half brother to the late Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis.
The search at the Ashland home of 62-year-old James Auchincloss occurred in October, according to the Ashland Daily Tidings, which first reported the story. No charges have been filed.
Calls by The Associated Press to Auchincloss were not returned.
The newspaper said Auchincloss, who has lived in Ashland since 1995 and serves on the board of Oregon Stage Works, declined to comment on what police found at his home, saying that it was “a matter for the courts.”
In an affidavit for a search warrant dated Oct. 17, 2008, Ashland police Detective Arthur LeCours said he found photographs in booklets and on carousel slides of naked 7- to 16-year-old boys in sexual poses at Auchincloss’ home.
The affidavit, shared by the Ashland Daily Tidings with the AP, also said police had probable cause to believe that Auchincloss was encouraging child sexual abuse.
Police told the newspaper the case has not been given a high priority because they believe there is no immediate threat.
Contacted by the AP, a police spokeswoman declined to provide any details but confirmed an investigation was “in progress.”
