8 Creepy Celebrity Ghosts

I’ve never seen a ghost in my life, my family always say that they seen them in the old family home but unfortunately for them the ghosts weren’t of famous people. Here is 8 celebrity ghosts that apparently haunt certain places…

Jim Morrison

If you ever get the urge to talk to Jim Morrison’s ghost, no need to travel to Paris where he died. Nope, the owners and staff of a Mexican restaurant in Los Angeles, aptly named Mexico, believe Jim is haunting their bathroom. This isn’t actually as random as it sounds—the building the restaurant occupies was once The Doors’ workshop and recording studio. Apparently, the vocal booth was located exactly where the bathroom now sits. “Jim Morrison is definitely still here,” said the restaurant’s manager. “Funky things happen all the time we can’t explain. Lights popping on and off at weird times. But when that bathroom door handle jiggles by itself, that’s the weirdest sign. It’s totally inexplicable.” The restaurant’s chef adds, “We had someone come in before we opened up, to do a ‘spiritual cleaning’ to try and put everything at peace. But in the end they told us, ‘Sorry, whatever is here is not leaving.’”

Farrah Fawcett

Farrah Fawcett‘s ghost can be found at … Tori Spelling‘s house. Tori had a medium over to try to contact her dead father, but instead supposedly found herself talking to Farrah, who asked that she pass on some important messages to her family.

Marilyn Monroe

Marilyn Monroe may have died at her home in Brentwood, but her ghost supposedly haunts the Roosevelt Hotel in Hollywood, where she loved to stay. Guests have seen her image in a mirror in the lobby, which was once in her poolside suite, as well as seen her specter in the ballroom.

Cass Elliot

Dan Aykroyd swears his house is haunted by Cass Elliot of the Mamas and Papas, who died after choking in 1974. “A ghost certainly haunts my house,” he said. “It once even crawled into bed with me. I rolled over and just nuzzled up to whatever it was and went back to sleep. … The ghost also turns on the Stairmaster and moves jewelry across the dresser. I’m sure it’s Mama Cass because you get the feeling it’s a big ghost.” Oooh, harsh.

John Lennon

When the remaining Beatles got together in 1995 to record “Free As A Bird,” they all felt the studio was haunted by the ghost of John Lennon. “There were a lot of strange goings-on in the studio—noises that shouldn’t have been there and equipment doing all manner of weird things,” said Paul McCartney at the time. “There was just an overall feeling that John was around.” They also say that, mysteriously, you can hear John’s voice in the recording.

Elvis

Elvis haunts pretty much everywhere. People have seen his ghost at Graceland. Some even claim to have seen his ghost marrying Marilyn Monroe there. They’ve also seen him at the Las Vegas Hilton, where he performed from 1969 to 1976, waiting backstage. Oh, and near a home he rented in Bel Air, though the place was knocked down forever ago.

Anna Nicole Smith

Anna Nicole Smith died at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino three years. Ever since, guests have seen her ghost wandering the hallway. Which would actually make sense, because after her death, the hotel renovated the suite and re-numbered the rooms so that no one could request the fateful room on purpose.

Kurt Cobain

Years ago, a bar manager in the U.K. claimed that Kurt Cobain was haunting her laptop computer. She says the computer asked her for a kiss, and when she complied, it stopped working. Ooookay, lady.

Do you believe in ghosts? Got any creepy stories to share?

Reporting on John Lennon’s Death (Video)

John Lennon‘s tragic death on Dec. 8, 1980, was the definitive stop-the-presses moment in rock history, overshadowing Elvis Presley’s not-all-that-surprising demise three years earlier and, going back further, the plane crash that snuffed out the promising careers of Buddy Holly and Richie Valens.

Thirty years ago, there was no MSNBC or Fox News (or Fox for that matter), so news coverage of that cold night in New York City came in the form of breaking news alerts from older, veteran newsmen, who delivered the sad news with their trademark gravitas.

Ted Koppel for ABC, a crusty BBC anchor and even a young Bill Kurtis broke the news to viewers of Chicago’s CBS station. The most widely seen and enduring announcement of the tragedy came from Howard Cosell in the ‘Monday Night Football’ broadcast booth.

John Lennon Hated Yellow T-Shirts

Furious with the cleaners for turning his brand new white shirt yellow, John Lennon penned this aggressive note to express his dissatisfaction, and rule out the possibility of it being due to Mrs. Yoko Ono’s pit stains.

This is the first time I’ve ever heard about Asians having the sweat glands of a cat! Interesting.

Forbes’ 2010 Top Earning Dead Celebrities

Forbes have come up with their annual list of the top earning dead celebrities for the year 2010 and the 13 stars earned a combined total of $506 million. To calculate their earnings Forbes took things into account such as royalties and licensing of the persons image.

13. Aaron Spelling, $5 million

As one of the founding fathers of modern television, Aaron Spelling spent five decades producing long-running, widely syndicated shows such as Charlie’s Angels, Dynasty and 7th Heaven. Although Spelling Television’s contemporary update on Melrose Place was canceled earlier this year, his Beverly Hills 90210 revival just began its third season on the CW. Meanwhile, Spelling Entertainment owns the rights to Republic Pictures’ archives, including classic films like High Noon and It’s a Wonderful Life.

11 (tie). Steve McQueen, $6 million

Three decades after his passing, the onetime Bullitt star continues to personify cool. McQueen’s image and likeness have been licensed for a host of signature collections for high-end brands like Dolce & Gabbana and Persol sunglasses. More recently he became the face of Tommy Hilfiger’s fall “icon collection” and UBS’ global “We Will Not Rest” campaign.

11 (tie). Jimi Hendrix, $6 million

It’s been 40 years since Hendrix died, but his music is still influencing wannabe rockers. His 1967 debut Are You Experienced has been licensed to the third version of the “Rock Band” videogame, and his estate recently released a new batch of previously unheard recordings. Fender Guitars has signed on to present the 2010 Experience Hendrix tour, featuring one of the star’s former bandmates.

10. Richard Rodgers, $7 million

In 2009 the Netherlands’ Imagem Music Group bought the rights to the collaborative catalog of Richard Rodgers and Oscar Hammerstein for a reported $200 million. Without those assets, Rogers still lands on our list, thanks to his earlier work with Lorenz Hart. That catalog boasts such standards as “My Funny Valentine” and “The Lady is a Tramp.”

09. George Steinbrenner, $8 million

Professional sports has never seen a more iconic franchise owner than George Steinbrenner. The New York Yankees boss carried the club back to its championship heritage, brought a new stadium to the Bronx and took the team’s famous interlocking NY logo global. Although Steinbrenner passed away during the team’s most recent season, he continues to earn as long as the Yankees continue to win.

08. Albert Einstein, $10 million

Associated with all things intelligent, Einstein’s name continues to be used to peddle Baby Einstein products, a majority Disney-owned venture designed to make infants smarter. Other lucrative tie-ins include Italy’s Banca Profilo’s “Face Value” campaign, Chrysler’s Ram brand truck ads and a collection of A.J. Morgan “geek chic” glasses. The scientist’s estate has also expanded into videogames with a Nintendo DS brain game that retails for about $50.

07. Dr. Seuss (Theodor Geisel), $11 million

With his instantly recognizable rhyming scheme, Dr. Seuss is the best-selling children’s author in history. Horton, the Grinch and his other iconic characters are now reaching audiences through iPhone apps and an attraction at Orlando’s Universal Studios theme park. According to Nielsen, Seuss’ titles are on pace to sell 3 million copies this year.

06. Stieg Larsson, $15 million

Larsson died before The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo was published, so he didn’t live to see the incredible success of his series of three books, known as The Millennium Trilogy. (A fourth book has reportedly been found.) More than 40 million copies of the books have been sold in 44 languages, and Sony is producing American films based on the books. They will star Daniel Craig as Mikael Blomkvist.

05. John Lennon, $17 million

It’s been nearly 30 years since The Beatles’ John Lennon was killed in New York City. In what would have been his 70th year, EMI has launched the “Gimme Some Truth” campaign, re-releasing much of Lennon’s catalog, resulting in several Top 10 chart appearances. His estate still earns from the “Beatles Rock Band” videogame and licensing deals with the likes of Cisco and Mont Blanc.

04. Charles Schulz, $33 million

The Peanuts brand changed ownership again this year, with Iconix purchasing the cartoon and its characters for $175 million to form Peanuts Worldwide, LLC. With the acquisition, Charles M. Schulz Creative Associates will maintain a 20% stake in the new company. The late Schulz continues to earn from his comic strip, which appears in 2,200 newspapers across 75 countries.

03. J.R.R. Tolkien, $50 million

The last Lord of the Rings movie hit theaters eight years ago, but Tolkien is still a hot topic in Hollywood. A two-movie adaptation of his book The Hobbit is currently in preproduction in New Zealand. All that Hollywood attention has helped move his books. According to Nielsen, Tolkien sold just shy of 500,000 copies in the last year.

02. Elvis Presley, $60 million

The King of Rock ‘n’ Roll’s income ballooned to $60 million, up $5 million from last year, thanks to Graceland admissions and the Elvis Presley Cirque du Soleil spectacular launched in Las Vegas earlier this year. His portfolio of more than 200 licensing and merchandise deals got a nice boost from the late star’s 75th birthday celebration. Among the commemorative events: Graceland exhibits, touring tribute concerts and an Elvis-themed cruise to the Bahamas.

01. Michael Jackson, $275 million

The King of Pop passed away last summer, but he’s made more money over the past year than any musician, dead or alive. Jackson not only took the No.1 spot on our 10th annual ranking of the Top-Earning Dead Celebrities, with gross earnings of $275 million, he out-earned the other 12 deceased stars on the list combined. His $275 million total was greater than the earnings of the two most profitable living acts, U2 and AC/DC, combined. Jackson’s posthumous earnings have been bolstered by shrewd negotiations by his estate, including a merchandising deal and the rights to his name and likeness for the Sony film This Is It, which grossed over a quarter of a billion dollars.

Funny how not one of these celebrities is a woman, I guess Hollywood has and always will be sexist when it comes to wages.

Lady GaGa Afraid Of Being Killed By A Fan?

Friends of Lady GaGa have said that she is terrified of having the same fate as John Lennon - being killed by a crazy fan, just like he was back in 1980.

GaGa is afraid that she might be shot at her apartment building like Lennon so she has beefed up the security at her apartment block and has also hired more round the clock personal bodyguards. A source says…

“Gaga thinks some of the fan mail has been pretty ominous. Some of her fans are completely obsessed – they make weird comments like saying they won’t be happy until they die with her. She worries over how John Lennon died and fears the same happening to her. She has these horrible thoughts that there may be plans to kill her.”

The source also says that her boyfriend, Luc Carl, isn’t too happy with the added security measures and that he is having a hard time dealing with it.

I know that Lady GaGa fans can be delusional but I didn’t think they were this batshit crazy that they would want to die with her.

John Lennon’s ‘LSD Stash’ Found

Beatles fans believe that they have found John Lennon‘s ‘LSD stash’, which was hidden by the legendary pop star in the grounds of his Surrey home in 1967.

Builders digging up the lawn of his old house in Kenwood discovered a leather satchel that contained a number of large broken glass bottles.

And so it seems, many of the answers John Lennon found (love, peace, fatherhood), were in fact, in the stars."

And so it seems, many of the answers John Lennon found (love, peace, fatherhood), were in fact, in the stars.

One of the many rumors surrounding Lennon is that he buried a large quantity of LSD in the grounds of his home during 1967.

It was claimed at the time that he took the decision after The Beatles had given up drugs in favor of transcendental meditation.

But upon his return from India, Lennon apparently attempted to dig up the secret ‘stash’ of LSD, though never managed to find it.

Beatles fans are now convinced that the bottles found in the satchel contained the missing LSD, though it appears it will forever remain a mystery, as the one intact bottle had a cracked cork and was therefore empty.

You didn’t really believe that lame excuse as to why Lucy was in the Sky with Diamonds, did you?

Sean Lennon & Kemp Muhl Recreate Nude John Lennon & Yoko Ono Photo

John Lennon’s son Sean is paying homage to the portrait of him and Yoko Ono on the cover of the December 1980 issue of “Rolling Stone” magazine.

Instead of being nude for the photo, Sean is dressed, while the model, who reminds me of Fiona Apple, is nude.

Here’s the original:

And the recreated version (NSFW after the jump):

It just seems so contrived and unnatural. The original photo was done by Anne Leibovitz and was iconic, as John was nude and in the fetal position.

John Lennon Exhibit To Feature Bloodstained Clothes

A New York exhibit centered around the life of John Lennon will feature a paper bag filled with the late singer’s bloody clothes from the day of his death.

The exhibit also includes handwritten lyrics, guitars, the piano from his apartment, a pair of “his trademark wire-rimmed glasses,” and letters recounting his battle against deportation in the 70s.

Widow Yoko Ono, who said she feared “criticism” for the exhibit, also said, “I know it’s a kind of a sad and very poignant kind of paradox, I think, that he loved this place so much and this is where he was killed.”

She said she was still coming to terms with Lennon’s death.

“If it was a slow a process we could have talked about it or something,” she added.

John Lennon Has Been Forgiven by The Vatican

A Vatican newspaper, L’Osservatore Romano , has issued a posthumous pardon to John Lennon for his ‘offensive’ declaration forty years ago that the Beatles were more popular than Jesus.

The paper described the remark as “showing off, bragging by a young English working-class musician who had grown up in the age of Elvis Presley and rock and roll and had enjoyed unexpected success”.

John Lennon, wherever he is, must feel so relieved that the Pope’s people are cool with him again… or then again, maybe he doesn’t give a crap.

Paul McCartney Furious Over John Lennon ‘Gay Lust’ Book

Sir Paul McCartney and Yoko Ono are furious after a new book they helped with accuses John Lennon of wanting a gay relationship with Macca.

The book also alleges that Lennon fantasized about sleeping with his mother.

Yoko, 75, agreed to be interviewed for John Lennon: The Life, written by respected Beatles author Philip Norman, McCartney also co-operated.

But she and Macca are now distancing themselves from it and Yoko has withdrawn her endorsement. A friend said: “Both Sir Paul and Yoko are extremely angry and upset.”
