Whoopi Golberg said there was a “huge announcement” coming on The View this morning.
And this is what it was: Miss America 2010 Caressa Cameron announced the star judges for this year’s pageant and they include Joy Behar. Joy was presented with her own sparkly crown.
“My daughter said, ‘You call yourself a feminist? Judging the Miss America contest?” But then she and The Viewsters discussed that it’s not a beauty contest, it’s about scholarship and “being healthy,” as Cameron said.
Among the other judges: Desperate Housewives’ creator Marc Cherry, DWTS pro Tony Dovolani, actress Marylou Henner and designer Taryn Rose. (No Rush Limbaugh this year.)
“I will be looking for the one girl who has cellulite,” said Joy. “I’m just warning you.”
The show will air live from Las Vegas on Jan. 15 on ABC.

It was judgment day for Paris Hilton today as she appeared before a judge in Las Vegas regarding her arrest last month on cocaine possession and as everyone expected – she escaped going to jail.
Paris stood before a judge and pleaded guilty to drug possession and obstructing an officer, instead of being told she was heading to the slammer she was given 200 hours of community service and a $2,000 fine.
She was also handed a year of probation and must complete and intensive substance abuse program. The judge warned that if she is arrested again, for anything other than a minor traffic violation, in the next year then she will be serving one year at the Clark County Detention Center.
The judge then said “The Clark County Detention Center is not the Waldorf Astoria.” I like this judge for cracking a joke but I don’t like him for basically letting her off with it. I was hoping to see her being sent to the chokey.

There’ trouble on the way to Lindsay Lohan and her legal team because her alcohol monitoring bracelet was set off at an after-party for the MTV Movie Awards.
It’s not known if she drank alcohol or if the device was tampered with but they’re the only two options that would make the SCRAM bracelet alert authorities.
Judge Marsha Revel will be notified of this and may end up dragging Lohan back into the courts, as part of her bail - Lohan was not to drink alcohol and had to wear the bracelet 24/7 if she broke these bail conditions then she would be thrown in jail.

Some people don’t like Toby Young as a judge on ‘Top Chef,’ but they’ll certainly feel bad for him now. Last week the writer was hit by a car while riding his bike, he explains on his blog.
“No nerve damage and brain seems to be functioning okay, but hopes of becoming a male supermodel have now been dashed,” he writes, linking off to a photo of the damage on his Twitter account.
According to Young, he was riding around in London at 12:30 AM when he was struck. “I saw a car about to pull out of a side street. I slowed down, trying to figure out if he’d seen me. He didn’t move so I assumed he had and was letting me go ahead. I duly cruised past and he pulled out, knocking me off,” he describes the accident.
Young is a well-known British writer, but is most famous in America for his role as a very-critical judge on ‘Top Chef.’
