Larry Birkhead paid nearly $3,000 at an auction Saturday for lingerie worn by late ex Anna Nicole Smith in a Playboy shoot, for his daughter Dannielynn!
Birkhead explained he paid $1,800 for a pink bustier and $1,000 for a white negligee because he wanted to give their 1-year-old daughter Dannielynn a keepsake of her mother.
Lingerie as a keepsake? Is he going to put the articles in a scrapbook for her?
“I have a lot of history I have to put together that she doesn’t really know about,” he told the Associated Press. “Playboy was such a big part of Anna’s career.”
“You know, it’s not something I can show today, but something down the road,” he added. “It’s not going to be in any bedtime stories anytime soon.”
The auction was held at the Planet Hollywood Resort and Casino in Las Vegas.
You know, for a long time I sympathized with Birkhead — feeling like he had a raw deal by not being allowed to be a part of Dannielynn’s life. However, he just reeks of snake and has reeked ever since the trial.

Not to be outdone by Larry, Howard K. Stern gave a statement to ET:
 “Today is extremely difficult for those of us who were close to Anna Nicole, and we ask that the media please respect our privacy.
In memory of Anna Nicole and her son Daniel, we have created the Anna Nicole and Daniel Wayne Smith Charitable Foundation. It will benefit charitable causes that Anna Nicole supported during her life: children, the elderly, and the treatment and cure of AIDS. Hopefully it will grow, help more people each year, and eventually be headed by her daughter Dannielynn.
All donations through February 2008 will benefit a charity in the Bahamas for underprivileged and at risk youths that Anna Nicole wanted to help.”

Rita Cosby was just kicking back… celebrating the release of her new book, of which has created quite the controversy. Poor gal, I can just see it now… big smiles while shaking hands and getting her picture taken, all eyes are on her.

The Insider reports,
Author Rita Cosby has been served with a complaint for libel by Howard K. Stern, for alleging an affair between Stern and Larry Birkhead — the father of Anna Nicole Smith’s baby, Dannielynn — in her book Blonde Ambition: The Untold Story Behind Anna Nicole Smith’s Death.
Cosby was served with the papers at her book party, and Anna’s mom, Virgie Arthur was present at the time.

More rumors are swirling around Larry Birkhead’s true intentions when it comes to Anna Nicole Smith’s daughter, Dannielynn. Larry’s former bodyguard, Mark Speer, has got some stories to tell.
 “Larry and I went to Nassau for over a week in January of this year. One day he said he wanted to go to Daniel’s grave, ostensibly to pay tribute to him on his birthday. But it turned out he had another idea. He said, ‘We’re going to meet two guys from Splash.’
“They had arranged to wait in some bushes at the cemetery. They took pictures of Larry pretending to be sad and emotional at the grave site. Only the Splash guys weren’t quite satisfied, so they asked him to do it again, and for me to get out of the picture. We did three takes. That was the first sign to me that Larry was in it for the money.”
Winner, Larry, real winner. This is so scandalous, and it doesn’t stop there.
Even more shocking is a trip Speer says he took with Birkhead on a private jet belonging to a wealthy friend of Smith’s. The friend’s wife “pulled out a stack of photographs,” Speer recalls. “They were pictures of Anna and the baby … in a hospital bed with her son Daniel. Daniel appeared to be dead. [The friend] told me he was dead.”
If any of this is true, someone needs to save Dannielynn.

Larry Birkhead is beyond pissed, with the ‘gay rumors‘ swirling around the tell-all book, ‘Blonde Ambition‘ by TV journalist Rita Cosby.
NY Daily News reports,
 Anna Nicole Smith boy toys Larry Birkhead and Howard K. Stern yesterday branded a woman who claimed they’re gay lovers a liar and a “loser” with a grudge against them.
The assertion by aspiring singer/actress Jackie Hatten that Smith’s guys made homosexual whoopee comes in a sensational tell-all book by TV journalist Rita Cosby.
If it isn’t cut from “Blonde Ambition” before it hits the stands, Birkhead and Stern vow to sue the former MSNBC reporter.
Hatten says she watched Birkhead and Stern go at it, but a furious Birkhead told the Daily News: “Jackie Hatten has never met me and she hasn’t even seen Anna since 2001.
“She isn’t a credible source,” Birkhead said. “Hatten tried to come to the Bahamas to see Anna last year and Anna wouldn’t let her. And Jackie’s brother went to jail for stalking Anna. This book is coming from the losers club because they all have axes to grind.”
Mark Hatten is in a California prison for threatening Smith. During the paternity battle over Smith’s daughter, Dannielynn, he also claimed to be the baby’s father.
Jackie Hatten, a former pro volleyball player, previously has accused Stern of feeding Smith drugs that contributed to her demise.
“I’ve witnessed Howard give her Vicodin, Valium, morphine, Demerol. … Shall I go on? I mean it’s too much for someone to take over a period of time,” she told CNN’s Larry King in February.
She also claimed Birkhead and Smith were “madly in love” after meeting on a blind date. “They were trying to have babies the first day they met in my bed, okay? I have pictures of them in my bed together.”
Stern’s lawyer Lin Wood sent a blistering letter to Cosby over the weekend warning, “Hatten is not a credible or reliable source.”
Wood later told The News: “The coverage of the tragic deaths of Anna Nicole Smith and her son, Daniel, has been permeated by false, sensationalized accusations. Ms. Cosby’s book … has taken the coverage to a disgusting new low for which she will be held legally accountable.”
Cosby wasn’t available for comment.
Meanwhile, Rita Cosby will not be appearing on the Today show today, tomorrow or anytime soon if Larry Birkhead’s lawyers have anything to say about it.
Well,… if they aren’t gay lovers, then they must have plotted to kill Anna Nicole Smith for her money.
