Russell Brand is being forced to apologize yet again, this time to a 78-year-old man he made a prank call and left “obscene messages” on the mans answer machine, saying he had sex with the man’s grandaughter.
Brand was set to give a phone interview to actor Andrew Sachs on his BBC radio show, but the actor, who starred in Fawlty Towers, didn’t pick up.
Russell and his studio guest — Britain’s biggest chat show host, Jonathon Ross – recorded several smutty messages about 23-year-old Georgina Baillie, a model.
It started when Ross interupted Russell’s message by shouting, “he f***ed your granddaughter,” and when they called again to “apologise,” Russell said he had “used a condom,” before calling yet again to say “it was consensual, lovely sex”.
The BBC have already issued an apology themselves.

8. Roseanne

This picture of a working-class family was loving but not mushy, and didn’t gloss over mundane worries like paying the mortgage, working a dead-end job and dealing with sassy kids. In fact, Roseanne mined them for comedy gold, and did so without looking or sounding like the typical sitcom mom.
7. The Cosby Show
(1984 - 1992)
It was the family we all wanted to be a part of: the Huxtables, led by Cliff and Clair, two professional, in-love parents who ruled with a firm hand and lots of humor, whether buying Theo a Gordon Gartrell shirt, planning the classic anniversary performances for the grandparents or throwing a funeral for a pet fish.
6. M*A*S*H
(1972 - 1983)
From Hawkeye’s womanizing to Klinger’s obsession with getting a Section Eight, a constant barrage of wisecracks and juvenile pranks was just what the doctor ordered for these Korean War army surgeons, whose gallows humor was the only way they, and viewers, could deal with the traumas of war.
5. Cheers
(1982 - 1993)
The Boston gang gave us not only a seminal workplace sitcom, but also one of the best TV romances ever with baseball pro-turned-bar owner Sam and snooty “student of life” Diane, and one of the all-time greatest ensemble casts in know-it-all Cliff, beer-lovin’ Norm, gold-digging Rebecca and naive Woody.
4. The Mary Tyler Moore Show
(1970 - 1977)
She’d once played Dick Van Dyke’s perfect sitcom wife, but here, MTM was the quintessential single career gal intent on conquering Minneapolis. As for the stellar supporting cast, Mr. Grant, Rhoda and Phyllis got their own spin-offs.
3. All in the Family
(1971 - 1979)
At the center of this groundbreaking comedy was “lovable bigot” Archie Bunker, whose rants on race, sex, religion, his dingbat wife and meathead son-in-law (and his hilarious meeting with Sammy Davis Jr.) only served to highlight just how ridiculous his viewpoints were.
2. Seinfeld
(1990 - 1998)
A show about nothing? Nah, it was about everything in the lives of four self-involved New Yorkers. Not that there’s anything wrong with that, because no one but Jerry, Elaine, George and Kramer — and show co-creator Larry David — could have turned minutiae into nine seasons of comedic brilliance.

The longest-running comedy on TV holds that record for a reason — it is, quite simply, the best sitcom in history. The animated classic has spent 19 seasons mocking and celebrating pop culture, and giving us TV’s most beloved family and most delightfully ornery 10-year-old, Bartholomew J. Simpson.
Paris Hilton had an improbable dinner date in L.A. Saturday: a gray-haired, orange-robed “shaman” who blessed her and urged her to give a diamond necklace to a total stranger.
What really happened was, Ashton Kutcher and Paris “Punk’d” the paparazzi.
The stunt was part of a new E! show, Pop Fiction (debuted Sunday, 10:30 p.m.), produced by prankster Ashton Kutcher’s crew, which goofs on the paparazzi and the press.

Lawrence Nicastro was going through some storage items last year at his Las Vegas home when he found a poster-size image of what he thought to be Marilyn Monroe hitchhiking naked.
The poster was actually that of Madonna, from her “Sex” book. It took Lawrence months to figure this out.
Lawrence spent four months researching the origin of the photo with his wife, Phyllis. He finally called in a Marilyn Monroe expert, Chris Harris. Chris also believed that Lawrence had come across something special.
The two of them scheduled a press conference today, to reveal their priceless find, but first gave a sneak peek to the Associated Press.
 So learned a Las Vegas man who alerted the media this week that he thought he had his hands on a rare photo of Marilyn Monroe posing nude as a hitchhiker. What he had was a famous photo of Madonna.
The image of the Material Girl, who often cast herself as a sort of latter-day Monroe, appeared in “Sex,” her 1992 book of risque photography. In it, she posed in heels and handbag, with a cigarette in her mouth.
“You’re right; it’s Madonna,” Harris said after being told of the mix-up. Harris said he believed someone had slipped the poster into Nicastro’s storage as a prank.
“If there ever was an embarrassing moment,” he said, adding that he planned to go ahead with the news conference to “face the music.”
There is one person, he noted, who should feel good about the mistaken identity.
“Who wins here? Madonna, of course,” Harris said. “She really looks like Marilyn Monroe.”

Beauty queen Ingrid Marie Rivera beat 29 rivals to become the island’s 2008 Miss Universe contestant, despite applying makeup and wearing evening gowns that had been coated with pepper spray.
 Pageant organizers were investigating Sunday, who doused a contestant’s evening gowns with pepper spray and spiked her makeup, causing her to break out in hives.
Rivera was composed while appearing before cameras and judges throughout the competition. But once backstage, she had to strip off her clothes and apply ice bags to her face and body, which swelled and broke out in hives twice.
“We thought at first it was an allergic reaction, or maybe nerves,” Rosario said. “But the second time, we knew it couldn’t have been a coincidence.”
Rivera’s clothing and makeup later tested positive for pepper spray.
Someone also stole Rivera’s bag containing her gowns, makeup and credit cards. And a bomb threat forced pageant officials to postpone the last day of competition on Thursday, said Magali Febles, director of the Miss Puerto Rico Universe pageant.
Pageant organizers said the hoped to catch and expose whoever was responsible for the pranks. They said, however, they were handling the investigation themselves and police are not involved.
Beauty competitions in the U.S. Caribbean territory - which boasts five Miss Universe titles, second only to the U.S. - are fierce, drawing boisterous audiences and accusations of rigged results.
But the pranks under investigation this year are a first, Rosario said.
Rivera, who won Miss World Caribbean in 2005, had been a target of controversy from the start of competition, as rivals complained she was too experienced and should be disqualified.
Local media touted her as the likely winner, stoking jealousy among contestants, Rosario said.
When Rivera won, rivals accused her of buying the crown, Puerto Rico’s El Nuevo Dia newspaper reported.
A tearful Rivera recounted her ordeal at a news conference Sunday, acknowledging she had wavered about staying in the contest.
“At one point I said, ‘Am I a masochist?’” she recalled, her voice breaking. “But I said, ‘I am with God and this is my goal, regardless of the results.’”

Johnny Knoxville thinks that Jackass is actually Punk’d. Over the weekend, while Luke Wilson was hanging out at the Polaroid Beach House, Knoxville hired a plane to hover overhead with a banner reading: “Luke Wilson’s phone number 3105000082″.
Apparently, that’s really his cell phone number, and Luke had to change it. The number is now out of service.
It’s kinda funny, but why Luke Wilson? Does Johnny have something against Luke, or was it random bad luck for him? Either way, I bet at least a couple lucky ladies got some phone time before the Luke realized.

Two blonde bombshells dubbed the “Barbie Bandits” shocked the nation when they burst into a Georgia bank and allegedly tried to rob it earlier this year.
 Now, in her first interview since the incident, 19-year old Heather Johnston, one of the alleged “bandits,” told ABC’s David Muir that the whole scheme started out as a prank.
“This all began as a joke,” she said. “I mean it’s crossed a lot of people’s minds, from what I’ve heard.”
The joke became a reality with the help Johnson’s friend, Ashley Miller and Miller’s boyfriend, who knew a teller at a Bank of America branch. One February morning, Johnston said the teller told her how to write a threatening note. All the while, Johnston said she didn’t think about how her plan might terrify the other bank workers.
“No, because we had an inside man. So, no,” she said.
‘Stunner Shades’ and Highlights
 Clad in form fitting jeans, tight tops and large sunglasses that Johnston and Miller called “stunner shades,” the teen girls headed to the bank to pull off their heist. Their plan wasn’t without flaws— they weren’t able to get the wigs they wanted and at first— and they got lost “We took a wrong turn somewhere, ended up going to a complete different Bank of America,” Johnston said.
Realizing the inside man was not at the bank, they called him, got new directions and soon showed up at the correct bank. After the girls handed over the note,Johnston said the money started flying.
“He started throwing it out and it was like going everywhere,” Johnston said. “So I was pushing it, Ashley was grabbing it, putting it, throwing it in the bag,”
After collecting thousands of dollars, Johnston said they hit the mall to get highlights at a high-end salon. They were later arrested and charged with felony theft.
For a girl supposed to be in her first year of college, the bank robbing was the culmination of a trip down the wrong path.
Johnston was a scholarship winner from a typical middle class home. But before heading to college, she met new friends and decided to try working as an exotic dancer. She became fast friends with fellow dancer, Miller. The girl who wanted to become a dental hygienist was soon far off track.
For Johnston’s mother, an elementary school teacher, the ordeal has been heart-wrenching.
“[It's] devastating as a mom,” she said, her voice breaking. “With my children, and I hope that I would instill positive values … we always did something special together. And I thought that that would instill and pretty much guarantee me wonderful adults, but I guess there is no guarantee.”
Out of prison on bail, Johnston has found a new job with an advertising firm — her first boss fired her after learning she was one of the Barbie Bandits.
But Johnston’s troubles may not be over. Knowing she could face up to 10 years in prison, she’s admitted the bank robbery scheme wasn’t the brightest idea.
“Some of the stuff we did was just pretty ignorant,” she said

Death threats from animal rights activists have reportedly forced Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony to hire security guards after the famed actress received startling letters.
 A friend of Lopez says an pro-animal extremist has recently been sending letters to Lopez, threatening “to kill her in public, just like the slaughtered animals whose fur she wears,” the New York Daily News reports.
According to the News, Lopez received the notes for a month straight, and finally decided that they had gone from a possible prank to a serious threat.
The News source says Lopez “hired two off-duty police officers, in addition to her usual security team,” but Lopez’s spokeswoman says that is “untrue.”
