Carrie Underwood says she has lost all respect for the likes of Oprah, Diddy, Jennifer Aniston, George Clooney and pretty much every other celebrity.
The singer who won American Idol says she dislikes when celebrities publicly back a presidential candidate.
She tells TV Guide that “there is someone I do support, but I don’t support publicly. I lose all respect for celebrities when they back a candidate. It’s saying that the American public isn’t smart enough to make their own decisions, I would never want anybody to vote for anything or anybody just because I told them to. Music is where you go to get away from all the BS. Whether it’s from politics or just the world around you, music should be an escape.
I agree completely, I am sick of celebrities endorsing candidates, thank god it is nearly over.
The day before election, Barack Obama’s beloved grandmother, Madelyn Dunhamhas died. She was 86-years old.
Obama with his grandmother, Madelyn Dunham, in Hawaii in 1979 during his high school graduation.
Barack and his sister released the following statement about the passing:
“It is with great sadness that we announce that our grandmother, Madelyn Dunham, has died peacefully after a battle with cancer. She was the cornerstone of our family, and a woman of extraordinary accomplishment, strength, and humility.”
The Kansan helped raise Barack from the age of 10 while his mother was working in Indonesia.
We’re so glad that the Presidential hopeful took some time off the campaign trail recently to spend time with her.
So sad that she couldn’t hold on for one more day.
Did you see John McCain on ABC’s The View this morning? Well the presidential candidate said he would like the Constitution interpreted the way it was originally written to be.
Whoopi Goldberg didn’t really like this statement and said, “should I be worried about being a slave, about being returned to slavery because certain things happened in the Constitution that you had to change?”
Barbara Walters chimed in and said to Sheri Shepherd and Whoopi that “us white folk will take care of you.”
Did you know that Barack Obama speaks Spanish, is Cuban and that his real name is Gerardo Passiaux?
Look again. You’re not the first to mistake this tall Cuban for the Democratic candidate. It happens to him all the time, Passiaux says.
And here at the Democratic convention in Denver, more than one delegate has freaked out thinking they had run into the senator himself…. but then when he starts talking in Spanish the illusion vanishes.
Gerardo, who is originally from Guantánamo, Cuba, says he is happy to be (Barack) and supports his quest to be the next tenant of the White House.
