Princess Diana at 50, Newsweek Cover Imagines (Photo)

In the new Newsweek, Tina Brown ponders what Princess Diana would be like today – as she would have turned 50 on Friday.

A computer-generated, age-projected image of a Diana shows her appearing to walk next to Kate Middleton, Prince William‘s bride.

“What would she have been like?” Brown writes of Diana. “Still great-looking: that’s a given.”

She goes on to say:

“Fashionwise, Diana would have gone the J.Crew and Galliano route à la Michelle Obama, always knowing how to mix the casual with the glam. There is no doubt she would have kept her chin taut with strategic Botox shots and her bare arms buff from the gym.

Remarriage? At least two, I suspect, on both sides of the Atlantic.”

Brown details all sorts of escapades that might have happened, with men, with her ex-husband, in politics and more. And would Diana have found peace? “Yes, I believe she would,” writes Brown.

But the Los Angeles Times ponders a different question – about the “jarring” cover, asking: “Shocking, brilliant or just plain cheap?” Most readers, it appears, find it “horribly” offensive. How about you?

Princess Diana’s ‘Unlawful Killing’ Trailer (Video)

If you haven’t heard about this new movie, ‘Unlawful Killing’, yet then you’re more than likely about to hear about it loads over the coming days. It’s a documentary about the death of Princess Diana and is set to debut at the Cannes Film Festival on Friday. Here is the trailer.

The documentary raises a lot of questions that have still to this day gone unanswered and so it is bringing up old debates surrounding the death of Princess Di back in 1997. Keith Allen is the director behind this documentary and basically goes into the conspiracy as to whether Diana’s death was indeed an accident or if in fact it was a plan by the Royal Family to kill her.

Gawker reports that the movie will even show a death photo of Diana that was taken while she was lying in the French tunnel after the accident. Now I’m all for conspiracy’s and stuff but to include a photo like this to me is just distasteful.

By the way this has been banned in the U.K. because the Royal Family don’t want this film to be seen by anybody. I for one will be watching this. Will you?

Prince William And Kate Middleton’s Program Portrait Released (Photo)

I don’t know if I’m the only one that’s sick of hearing about the Royal Wedding between Prince William and Kate Middleton but anyway here is the official portrait that will be featured in the Royal Wedding program.

The program was available for download earlier on today, you can get it here, and features a little statement from the couple thanking everybody for their support. Here is what they say:

“We are both so delighted that you are able to join us in celebrating what we hope will be one of the happiest days of our lives,” the couple write in their official wedding program, released Thursday. Their message, signed “William” and “Catherine,” goes on to say: “The affection shown to us by so many people during our engagement has been incredibly moving, and has touched us both deeply. We would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone most sincerely for their kindness.”

Mario Testino was the photographer who shot this uber-cheesy photo for us all to enjoy. The 28-page program also features details of tomorrows wedding service and states that she will walk down the ailse to “I Was Glad” by Sir Charles Hubert Hastings Parry, composed for the coronation of William’s great-great-great grandfather Edward VII at Westminster Abbey in 1902.

Kate will follow in Princess Diana‘s steps with her vows and promises not to obey her husband but she will “‘love, comfort, honor and keep” William.” When putting the ring on her finger he will say “with this ring I thee wed.”

Is it just me that is looking forward to this wedding being over and done with tomorrow? Every news channel is going to be full of it all day.

The Top 10 Most Beautiful Royal Women

I’ve never heard of BeautifulPeople.com but they have polled over 127,000 people asking who they think are the most beautiful royal women in history, the poll ran for seven days and gave users two images at a time. Here is the results:

10. Princess Masako of Japan (68%)

And rounding off the list we have the wife of Crown Prince Naruhito of Japan. A former diplomat, Princess Masako married into the imperial family in 1993. While she has somewhat retired from the prying eyes of public life since 2002 due to a rumoured nervous exhaustion, 68 percent of the votes went to the fresh-faced beauty.

9. Princess Margaret (70%)

Yet another lady from the British royal family to make it in at Number Nine is the late Princess Margaret, the younger sister of Queen Elizabeth II. Seventy percent of those polled believe her to have been the most beautiful royal in the world.

8. Crown Princess Mary of Denmark (72%)

Like Middleton, Princess Mary, 39, is a commoner who married into royalty. The mother-of-four is indeed a beauty and garnered 72 percent of the votes to make it to eighth position.

7. Princess Madeleine of Sweden (74%)

The 28-year-old daughter of King Carl XVI Gustaf and Queen Silvia of Sweden is certainly gifted with good looks. Besides nabbing seventh place in the BeautifulPeople poll with 74 percent of the votes, she was also placed 12th in a list of the ’20 Hottest Young Royals’ compiled by Forbes Magazine in 2008.

6. Princess Gayatri Devi (75%)

The late, great Queen of Jaipur also figures among the top 10, coming in at Number Six with 75 percent of the votes. The Maharani was celebrated as a style icon, a fashion-forward royal and an eternal beauty not just in India, but across the globe.

5. “Princess” Charlotte of Monaco (76%)

Grace Kelly’s granddaughter certainly looks like she’s taken after her in the looks department and followed her into the poll. Pretty Charlotte, 24, is fourth in line to the throne of Monaco and saw 76 percent of respondents’ votes.

4. Princess Diana of Wales (82%)

Kate managed to pip her late mother-in-law to third spot, but the lovely Princess Diana still figures high up on people’s minds – she came in fourth, with 82 percent of the votes.

3. Princess-in-waiting Kate Middleton (84%)

Hers is being touted as the wedding of the century. When Kate marries her prince later this month, she will be the third most beautiful royal in the world, according to the 84 percent of votes she received.

2. Queen Rania of Jordan (90%)

The raven-haired Queen of Jordan is still as gorgeous as ever at 40. Her impeccable style, figure and fashion choices saw her miss the top spot by a close shave – 90 percent of respondents saw her to Number Two.

1. Princess Grace of Monaco (91%)

Late Hollywood siren and Oscar winner Grace Kelly married into royalty – tying the knot with Rainier III, Prince of Monaco saw her go from playing roles in movies to playing the role of princess consort. The blonde, blue-eyed stunner died in 1982 at the age of 52, but it seems her timeless beauty still takes the top spots when it comes to royalty – she topped the poll with 91 percent of the votes.

I’d agree with this list, especially with Kate Middleton. She is definitely one of the most beautiful royal women that I have ever seen. What are your thoughts?

Prince William and Kate Middleton Got Engaged

In case you’ve been hiding under a rock today I’m sure you’ve heard the news that Prince William is engaged to Kate Middleton after he proposed to her last month in Kenya.

The couple have been on-and-off for the past eight years but they are now finally set to get married sometime in Spring or Summer of 2011. Prince William is said to have asked Kate’s father for her hand before proposing to her.

He presented her with with his mothers, Princess Diana, oval blue 18-carat sapphire and diamond ring engagement ring because he didn’t want her to miss out on the excitement. He said…

“It is very special to me. It was my way to make sure my mother did not miss out on today and the excitement that we are going to spend the rest of our lives together.”

No word on where the wedding will take place yet but her family say they are thrilled with the news of the engagement. Check out the photos to see the engagement ring.

Congratulations to Prince William and Kate Middleton but I know I am going to be sick of hearing about them by the end of the week and when the actually wedding comes around it’s all we will hear about.

Prince William has revealed that he proposed to Kate Middleton with his mom’s engagement ring — the same one Princess Di stopped wearing after Charles cheated on her … which in turn, ruined the marriage, embarrassed the royals and tore the family apart.
