“We have already made difficult decisions and sacrifices in an attempt to reach agreement,” the statement said. “Now it’s time for SAG members to stand united and empower the national negotiating committee to bargain with the strength of a possible work stoppage behind them.”

The statement did not specify what led to the impasse, saying only that “management continues to insist on terms we cannot responsibly accept.” A SAG spokeswoman said she would not comment further. A call to the movie producers group, known as the AMPTP, was not immediately returned.

It’s difficult to imagine a less sympathetic labor class — or one less in need of collective bargaining — than Hollywood actors. The horrible working conditions that could lead to the strike?

SAG is seeking union coverage for all Internet-only productions regardless of budget and residual payments for Internet productions replayed online, as well as continued actor protections during work stoppages. But the AMPTP said it was untenable for SAG to demand a better deal than what writers, directors and another actors union accepted earlier in the year, especially now that the economy has worsened.

Indeed.

Katie Holmes & Her Mysterious Purple Hands

Katie Holmes has been wearing gloves and long sleeve shirts with the sleeves pulled down over her hands, in order to cover their freakish purple coloration.

It’s rumored that Katie may have taken part in a Scientology purification ritual that caused her hands to turn purple.

According to reports, the purification ritual is called the Purification Rundown or Purif, which is the process of taking ‘vitamin bombs’ to get ‘toxins’ out of their bodies.

It’s reported that in almost every single case, Scientology founder Hubbard recommends dosages in his teachings that are well above the safe limits, in some cases as much as 142 times more than the toxic level. The side effects of such huge overdoses range from liver damage, hair loss, brain swelling and nausea up to fatal heart and respiratory failure.

The cleanse also prescribes huge doses of niacin. Large doses of niacin can cause liver damage, peptic ulcers, and skin rashes. Even normal doses can be associated with skin flushing.

Are they trying to kill her?

Hugh Hefner’s Honorary Fourth Girlfriend

Anna Faris stars in the upcoming “The House Bunny” (which features the men’s magazine mogul and his three busty blondes), and has since been spending quite a bit of time at the iconic Playboy Mansion.

I bet Holly Madison truly hates this woman.

“I was just there yesterday. Hef has been an incredible support system; it’s thrilling to see him act, I’ve been made a real-life honorary girlfriend.”

The bubbly blonde also said to keep an eye out for the September issue of Playboy (no confirmation that it is a centerfold).

But speaking of Hef and his girlfriends, it seems things weren’t quite so sunny at the annual Fourth of July bash at the mansion on Friday.

According to some partygoers, there was a bit of a tiff among the girls and Kendra wasn’t speaking to Holly or Bridget.

“They didn’t even exchange glances,” an eyewitness said. “I don’t know what happened, but Kendra made sure to keep her distance.”

It has been speculated for quite some time that 23-year-old Wilkinson is getting ready to fly the coop, having been busy focusing on building her own brand-name independent of the “Girls Next Door.”

Only time will tell, but last time we spoke to Hef, himself, just a few weeks ago, he said that it’s quite amazing they’ve all been together for this long.

“Girls will be girls, and there are moments where they will disagree,” he said. “The amazing thing, quite frankly, is that we’re all together after six years.”

PAPA DON’T PREACH ABORTION CONTROVERSY — After singing lyrics, “I’ve made up my mind/I’m keeping my baby,” in 1986, abortion-rights groups praised her (while anti-abortion supporters were up in arms). Madonna called it a “message song that everyone is going to take the wrong way.”

Supermodel Ruslana Korshunova Commits Suicide

A supermodel plunged to her death Saturday afternoon by leaping from her Lower Manhattan apartment window in an apparent suicide.

Ruslana Korshunova, barely shy of her 21st birthday, apparently jumped from the balcony of her residential building in Manhattan’s Financial District, police tell the New York Post.

People reports,

Authorities said there appeared to be no signs of a struggle having taken place inside the 9th-floor apartment, which the green-eyed, 5′8″ beauty had occupied for only two months.

The Kazakhstan-born “Russian Rapunzel,” as she was known, had appeared as cover girl on editions of French Elle and Russian Vogue, as well as in ads for Marc Jacobs, DKNY, Vera Wang and Christian Dior.

“Our hearts are with her family,” a spokesman for her agency, IMG (which also represents Heidi Klum and Kate Moss) told the Post.

A former boyfriend, Artem Perchenok, 24, told the paper that the two had watched the movie Ghost and that he dropped her off at home at 5 a.m. Saturday. “She was a good person,” he said.

The Daily News suggests that Korshunova had become despondent over a lost love. She poured her heart out on the Web in the months leading to her apparent suicide.

“Life is short, Break the rules, Forgive quickly, Kiss slowly, Love truly, Laugh uncontrollably,” the sandy-haired knockout wrote in a poem that concluded: “And never regret anything that made you smile.”

The Kazakh beauty wrote that love “blinds,” “sets souls afire,” and “is always the answer” in emotion-soaked passages posted on a social networking site.

Korshunova volleyed between Russian and English in her heartfelt prose, but love was a central theme no matter the language. “Do not confuse love and desire,” she wrote in Russian in her most recent posting May 30. “Love is the sun, desire – only flash. Desire dazzles, and the sun gives life.”

The soulful note warns of the perils of sacrifice.

“Love does not take away from one in order to give to another,” wrote Korshunova, a 20-year-old thousands of miles from her native Kazakhstan. “Love – this is the essence of life. But you will not give your life to another.”

Korshunova’s most telling message came three months ago: “I’m so lost. Will I ever find myself?”

She appeared angry in some postings, brokenhearted in others.

“I’m a bitch. I’m a witch. I don’t care what you say!!!” she wrote March 11. “I know what it is. I know why my other relationships didn’t work out, ’cause I’m unpredictable. Why are you afraid of it?”

In January, she wrote, “It hurts, as if someone took a part of me, tore it out, mercilessly stomped all over and threw it out.

“My dream is to fly. Oh, my rainbow it is too high,” she wrote in a March note.

This is very, very sad.

UPDATE (James):  Fox News has shown video of Korshunova’s body .  I think the family could have done without that.  Sad, indeed.

George Clooney, Union Man

George Clooney might have a gazillion bucks in the bank but he’s apparently a union man through and through.

In a two-page letter released Thursday, Clooney adopted a neutral stance in the dispute between the American Federation of Television and Radio Artists and the Screen Actors Guild.

“What we can’t do is pit artist against artist,” he wrote.

AFTRA has already reached a tentative agreement with Hollywood studios. SAG wants AFTRA members to vote against the deal, saying its approval will handcuff SAG at the bargaining table. Both unions’ current contracts are set to expire Monday, leaving Hollywood on edge about a possible replay of the 100-day writers strike that ended in February. Results of the AFTRA vote are expected July 8.

Tom Hanks, Alec Baldwin and others have joined hundreds of actors in signing an online petition urging actors to ratify the AFTRA pact. Meanwhile, Jack Nicholson, Viggo Mortensen and Holly Hunter have endorsed a SAG ad calling for AFTRA to return to the negotiating table to get a better deal.

Clooney called the fight counterproductive. “Because the one thing you can be sure of is that stories about Jack Nicholson vs. Tom Hanks only strengthens the negotiating power” of the studios, he said.

Clooney also called on higher-paid actors to chip in a greater share of union dues and for 10 A-listers — “people that the studio heads don’t often say ‘no’ to,” he suggested, listing only Nicholson and Hanks by name — to sit down with studio heads once a year to “adjust the pay for actors.”

The idea of millionaire actors unionizing, let alone going on strike, has always struck me as ludicrous. But Clooney’s instinct here is right: if they’re going to organize, the big money stars ought to take care of the little guys. It makes sense to have a system in place for the folks struggling for scale jobs trying to get regular employment. Not so much one that has the likes of Clooney and Hanks walking a picket line.

Lesbian Couple Waited 55 Years to Marry

Phyllis Lyon and Del Martin fell in love at a time when lesbians risked being arrested, fired from their jobs and sent to electroshock treatment.

On Monday, more than a half-century after they became a couple, Lyon and Martin plan to become one of the first same-sex couples to legally exchange marriage vows in California.

“It was something you wanted to know, ‘Is it really going to happen?’ And now it’s happened, and maybe it can continue to happen,” Lyon said.

San Francisco Mayor Gavin Newsom plans to officiate at the private ceremony in his City Hall office before 50 invited guests. He picked Martin, 87, and Lyon, 84, for the front of the line in recognition of their long relationship and their status as pioneers of the gay rights movement.

Along with six other women, they founded a San Francisco social club for lesbians in 1955 called the Daughters of Bilitis. Under their leadership, it evolved into the nation’s first lesbian advocacy organization. They have the FBI files to prove it.

Their ceremony Monday will, in fact, be a marriage do-over.

In February 2004, San Francisco’s new mayor decided to challenge California’s marriage laws by issuing marriage licenses to same-sex couples. His advisers and gay rights activists knew right away which couple would put the most compelling human face on the issue: Martin and Lyon.

Back then, the couple planned to celebrate their 51st anniversary as live-in lovers on Valentine’s Day. Because of their work with the Daughters, they also were icons in the gay community.

“Four years ago, when they agreed to be married, it was in equal parts to support the mayor and to support the idea that lesbians and gay people formed committed relationships and should have those relationships respected,” says Kate Kendell, a close friend and executive director of the National Center for Lesbian Rights.

Lyon and Martin vividly recall the excitement of being secretly swept into the clerk’s office, saying “I do” in front of a tiny group of city staff members and friends, and then being rushed out of the building. There were no corsages, no bottles of champagne. Afterward they went to lunch, just the two of them, at a restaurant run as a job training program for participants in a substance abuse program.

“Of course, nobody down there knew, so we were left to be by ourselves like we wanted to be,” said Martin, the less gregarious of the two. “Then we came home.”

“And watched TV,” adds Lyon.

The privacy was short-lived. Their wedding portrait, showing the couple cradling each other in pastel-colored pantsuits with their foreheads tenderly touching, drew worldwide attention.

Same-sex marriage would become legal in Massachusetts in another three months, but San Francisco’s calculated act of civil disobedience drove the debate.

In the month that followed, more than 4,000 other couples followed Martin and Lyon down the aisle before a judge acting on petitions brought by gay marriage opponents halted the city’s spree.

The state Supreme Court ultimately voided the unions, but the women were among the two dozen couples who served as plaintiffs in the lawsuits that led the same court last month to overturn California’s ban on gay marriage.

They were having their morning coffee when Lyon heard the news on the radio. She rushed across the house to embrace Martin. Not long after, Newsom called to offer congratulations and to ask if they would be willing to be at the forefront yet again.

“Sure,” was the answer they gave.

The voicemail threats made against Hulk Hogan and his family — calling Linda and Brooke Hogan “whores” and threatening to “piss on you and your family’s grave” — have been released.

Bubba the Love Sponge, radio host and Hogan family friend, played the messages allegedly made by John Granziano’s brother, Frank, on his show this morning. Clearwater PD states there is an “open investigation” into the calls.

Maxi Mounds’ 36MMM Breasts Win Guinness World Record

Speaking of breasts, Maxi Mounds has made a huge name for herself – by having the largest breast implants in the world.

Her 36MMM bust – each weighing 9kg (20lbs) – finally made it into the record books years after she learned there was a category for natural breasts.

‘I contacted Guinness World Records and asked if they had a category for implants, but they said no, so I let it go,’ she said.

‘Then they asked me if I was interested as they were creating a category. Eventually they told me I won.’

Ms Mounds – not her real name – became a lap dancer in Florida in the 1990s.

It was then the one-time ballet dancer and horse rider decided to enhance her figure.

I had the old-style silicone imp­lants,’ she explained. ‘But then came all the scare stories, so I had them replaced with overfilled saline.’

But her chest began to sag, so she had tubes put in her armpits so she could be topped up.

In 2000, she had her implants ­removed and the pockets filled with plastic string – a procedure which has been banned. A solution was injected to make the breasts produce fluid and ‘inflate’ – but they kept on growing.

She doesn’t have a fella now: ‘It takes a very special type of person to be with someone who looks like me because of the reactions I get from people whenever I’m out in public.

‘I’ve seen some pretty funny things happen. Men walking into things and getting slapped by their girlfriends because they were staring so hard.’

I like how in the video, the breasts don’t move — not even a fraction of an inch. Could you imagine her jogging?

Photographer Arrested for stalking Jamie Lynn Spears

A celebrity photographer accused of stalking Jamie Lynn Spears and her fiance has been arrested.

Edwin W. Merino, 30, of Los Angeles, posted bond Tuesday. He is scheduled to appear in court next week.

Authorities in Liberty, a small town in southwest Mississippi near the Louisiana border, said Merino wouldn’t leave the pregnant Spears and her fiance, Casey Aldridge, alone.

Merino denied the accusations in a phone interview Wednesday with The Associated Press. He said that he was about 200 feet away from the couple using a long lens when he was arrested at a gas station.

The younger Spears and Aldridge have been the subject of intense attention since she announced her pregnancy in December. She said then she was 12 weeks along, which would make the 17-year-old due any time.

Merino said he had little luck taking pictures of the couple and was preparing to leave the area.

“I’ve seen the young man Casey in pictures,” Merino said. “I haven’t worked on them myself. The first time I got a good look at him was in court.”

Spears’ family representatives did not immediately return messages Wednesday.

Merino has worked as a celebrity photographer for five years. He was one of the paparazzi who snared pictures of Jamie Lynn Spears’ older sister, Britney, without underwear.

Merino said he was the only photographer following Spears during most of his four days in the Liberty area.

“I just think since I was the only one there, it was just easier for them to single me out,” Merino said.

Merino’s arrest was first reported by the McComb Enterprise-Journal.

Merino said he didn’t spend any significant time in jail. A deputy drove him to three automated teller machines and he got the $1,143 he needed to be released.

In the end, Merino said the trip was a waste.

“The one picture I got was kind of by luck,” he said. “I got lucky when I saw them at Wal-Mart when I was buying deodorant.”

I’m guessing that the laws in that little hick town are a little different than in Los Angeles. They aren’t used to seeing the paparazzi.

Prince’s Battle Over Radiohead’s ‘Creep’ – See Performance VIDEO

After word spread that Prince covered Radiohead’s “Creep” at the Coachella festival, the tens of thousands who couldn’t be there ran to YouTube for a peek. Everyone was quickly denied — even Radiohead.

All videos of Prince’s unique rendition of Radiohead’s early hit were quickly taken down, leaving only a message that his label, NPG Records, had removed the clips, claiming a copyright violation. But the posted videos were shot by fans and, obviously, the song isn’t Prince’s.

In a recent interview, Thom Yorke said he heard about Prince’s performance from a text message and thought it was “hilarious.” Yorke laughed when his bandmate, guitarist Ed O’Brien, said the blocking had prevented even him from seeing Prince’s version of their song.

“Really? He’s blocked it?” asked Yorke, who figured it was their song to block or not. “Surely we should block it. Hang on a moment.” Yorke added, “Well, tell him to unblock it. It’s our … song.”

YouTube prohibits the posting of copyrighted material. If the site receives a complaint from a copyright owner, it will in most cases remove the video(s). Whether the same could be done for a company not holding a copyright is less clear, but Yorke’s argument would seem to bear some credence according to YouTube’s policies. YouTube, which is owned by Google, declined to comment. Prince also did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

The dispute was an interesting twist in debates over digital ownership, held between two major acts with differing views on music and the Internet. Radiohead famously released their most recent album, “In Rainbows,” as a digital download with optional pricing. They also have a channel on YouTube.

When Prince performed at Coachella on April 26, he prohibited the standard arrangement of allowing photographers to shoot near the stage during the first three songs of his set. Instead, he had a camera crew filming his performance.

Prince, who founded NPG Records in 1993, has been innovative when it comes to music distribution, too. He released his 1997 album, “Crystal Ball,” on the Internet and in 2006 was awarded a lifetime achievement award by the Webbys. In 2007, he gave away copies of his disc “Planet Earth” in a British Sunday newspaper.

But the Purple One has also shut down his official Web site and last September said he would sue YouTube and eBay for not filtering unauthorized content.

Prince fans have organized to urge him to relent in his legal fights to control images and photographs of himself. As of yesterday, the most popular YouTube clip about Prince playing “Creep” is an expletive-laden rant from Sam Conti Jr., who describes himself as a “former Prince fan.”

Seems a bit overboard, doesn’t it? Did Prince even ask permission to cover the song in the first place?

9 Most Annoying Internet Mongers

While I am not a horror flick fan, I do find number 9 on the list of annoying people insulting. Uwe Boll can’t take criticism, but who can these days? After a few of movies sucked and the critics let him have it, he challenged the to a “boxing match.” Yes, because punching someone will prove you have the artistic skills to make films. If that is the case then Mohamed Ali is the next Steven Spielberg. To make matters worse for himself he also makes fun of the September 11th attacks.

Perez Hilton is scraping the bottom of the barrel at 8th place. The self entitled “Queen of the Media” is the subject of lawsuits when celebs hear the name of the z-lister they cringe. When fellow bloggers hear the moniker we slap our heads in shame. His barely informative dribble marked with white dots and drawings make me feel dirty. (Not in a good way.)

7th place goes to the guy who put the life of Prince Harry in danger to score some press. Matt Drudge also earns his annoyance award for defending Mark Foley’s indiscretions with congressional pages. He was also wrapped up in some “Openly Gay Canadian issues.

Chris Crocker sits happily at spot 6. This is the guy/girl…manimal that went crazy and tried to defend Britney Spears by screaming and crying with a sheet over his/her head. After comparing her to “as big of a topic as 9/11” Crocker didn’t make friends. Britney herself was insulted by the video of the rant. Good God, what do you have to do to insult someone who is kosher with shaving her head and wearing fishnet stockings while foaming at the mouth for Red Bull and blow?

The spot in fifth place is blog hater Buzz Bissinger. He was on the HBO program “Costas Now” to rip apart the blogging world. While I respect (but disagree with ) his thoughts that blogs “destroy journalism” he decided to go crazy and get violent in making his point. I hardly find it necessary to bust out my clubs and dueling pistols to chat about journalistic integrity.

4th place belongs to Michael Crook. He is the most hated for his views on the military. He is genuinely an idiot that devoted a site to “Forsake Our Troops.” The general opinion of this turd is that military men and women are “scumbags” and deserve to die. He feels that the are overpaid for putting their life on the line on a daily basis providing him with right to sit at home a be a douche bag. This is the type of guy who bitches about the military issues but is the first to call on them when our country is attacked.

Number three is, of course, Rosie O’Donnell. The former Queen of Nice now uses the internet to blog haikus of political views. (Yes I realize that rhymed.) The good thing about this is that you aren’t forced into visiting her blog.

The “Spam King” is under the scope of hatred at number two. Robert Soloway is responsible for using the net to lure people into giving out info via spam e-mail. Currently he is facing 26 years in jail thanks to charges of e-mail fraud, identity theft and tax evasion. Yes, he is the assclapper that started the “Strategic Partnership Against Microsoft Illegal Spam.”

Tila Tequila takes first place. After tempting pervs out there with the promise of bisexuality and being a total skank failed to impress the masses her music is just the icing on the cake. Page Six isn’t a fan of her or her musical endeavors…and neither are her “fans.” Her first single sold a measly 13,000 copies. Ouch.
