Now the Daily News is suggesting that she looks exactly like a former Miss Wyoming who was involved in a bizarre sex scandal 30 years ago.
In 1978, Joyce McKinney jumped bail and disappeared after being charged with kidnapping Kirk Anderson, a 19 year old male Mormon missionary, whom she had chained to a Devon cottage bed with mink handcuffs and forced to have sex.
At the time, she famously said of her victim: ‘I loved him so much that I would ski naked down Mount Everest with a carnation up my nose if he asked me to.’
Were these two blonde, American, dog-loving and, yes, quite possibly barking mad, Miss McKinneys one and the same person?
Last night, when we spoke to ‘Bernann’ on the telephone, having tracked her down to a Seoul hotel room, her hostile reaction hardly quashed the intrigue.
Asked: ‘Are you really Joyce McKinney?’ she snapped: “Are you going to ask me about my dogs, or not? Because that’s all I’m prepared to talk to you about.”
Joyce tried to get Anderson to agree to marry her, but he kept turning her ass down. Anderson finally agreed to marry her. When she loosened the cuffs, he escaped. Joyce and May were arrested.
Joyce spent three months in prison. She was released on bail due to the fact that she was insane. She and May used fake passports to flee to Canada. Joyce finally decided to cash in on her fame by posing topless in men’s magazines. She spent the next 5 years consumed in a world of drugs and prostitution.
In 1984, she was arrested AGAIN after cops found her at the Salt Lake City Airport where Anderson worked. They found rope and handcuffs in her car. She never showed up to court and the case was dropped.
In the 1990’s, Joyce was living in North Carolina. She had another run in with the law when she broke into a dog pound to rescue a dog. She hasn’t been heard from since.
Perhaps the most persuasive circumstantial evidence to suggest that Joyce and Bernann are the same woman, is that a Joyce Bernann McKinney is registered as living in Avery County, North Carolina - birthplace of the Mormon sex slave kidnapper.
She has been on the voters’ register there since 1988.
‘Who started all this?’ Miss ‘Bernann’ McKinney demanded to know when she was phoned in Seoul, as she prepared to return to the U.S. with one of the puppies. (The others will remain in care among the scientists who have cloned them in the short-term.)
Told that there was a growing internet debate about whether she was indeed the Mormon kidnapper, Miss McKinney replied: ‘I’m only going to talk to you about the dogs and the death of Booger. I’ve got people waiting to dine with me. I’m not talking about anything else.’
And that was that. She would neither confirm nor deny the link.

The photographer is reportedly shopping the tape as we speak, which shows footage of A-Rod and Madonna shacking up in their secret apartment. Yeah, I’m not totally buying that either.
The footage was supposedly shot two months ago and the apartment is owned by one of Madonna’s Kabbalah friends.
If the video does exist, the camera man will most likely go to jail since he did not have the apartment owner’s permission to install a camera in the house. He would face charges of burglary and voyeurism.
According to the publication, Madonna’s lawyers said they were “aware” of the photographer’s claims but had no further comments.

A former teacher pleaded guilty Wednesday to fleeing to Mexico with a 13-year-old student so she could have sex with him. Her plea was part of a deal to ensure she’ll spend less than a decade in federal prison.
Kelsey Peterson, 26, cried in court and shook her head when the prosecutor said she started having sex with the boy when he was 12 years old and a student at Lexington Middle School, where she taught.
But the former math teacher pleaded guilty to a charge of transporting a minor across state lines to have sex, and avoided a similar charge that would have carried a mandatory 10-year minimum sentence.
The plea agreement calls for a sentence of at least 70 months in prison, up to a maximum of 87 months. The judge could decide on a different sentence, but that would give Peterson the right to change her plea, said federal prosecutor Jan Sharp. A sentencing hearing is scheduled for September.
Her family burst out of the court room Wednesday shouting at reporters, telling them to “ask (the victim) how old he is,” and saying Peterson is being unjustly accused.
Peterson’s attorney, James Martin Davis, has publicly questioned the boy’s birth certificate. Davis said the boy was likely at least 16, and that he was the aggressor.
Amy Peck, an attorney for the boy and his family, said that suggestion was disgusting.
“He was a 12-year-old boy and the defendant knew it,” Peck said Wednesday. “The result of this lower plea could have been obtained without playing to every racial stereotype that there is.”

A former driver and aide of New Jersey ex-governor Jim McGreevey has come forward to dispute the claim from Dina McGreevey, that she was a victim in the whole scandal… she was a part of it.
The aide, Theodore Pedersen, said today that he had three-way sexual trysts with the former governor and his wife before he took office, and that the couple even had a nickname for the weekly romps, from 1999 to 2001, that typically began with dinner at T.G.I. Friday’s and ended with a threesome at McGreevey’s condo in Woodbridge.
They called them “Friday Night Specials,” according to Pedersen.
Pedersen described the encounters during an interview with The Star-Ledger. He said he wanted to refute the innocent image that Matos McGreevey has projected - both during the couple’s ongoing divorce battle and in interviews she gave after New York Gov.
He said he was also incensed by her portrayal of herself as an unsuspecting wife in her book: “Silent Partner: A Memoir of My Marriage.”
“I wanted to get this out now because it was so offensive to me that she goes on television playing the victim,” Pedersen said. “She’s trying to make this a payday for herself. She should have told the truth about the three of us.”
Pedersen did not say if he was gay or bisexual and only described having contact with Matos McGreevey during the trysts. He also said he never knew for sure if McGreevey was gay.

He also said the threesome quickly became more than just a Friday night thing and he would regularly join the couple on trips.
“He liked watching me, and she would watch me while she was [performing sex acts] with Jim. In my opinion, me being a part of their sexual relationship enhanced it for both of them.
It’s frustrating to hear her call Gov. Spitzer a hypocrite while she’s out there being as dishonest as anyone could be about her own life.”
Eliot will have plenty of time to keep his bitches in line. The Spitzer prostitution ring has forced the Democrat to resign his post as governor. The announcement came today after getting caught with his pants down in a sex scandal involving hookers. A plea deal with the prosecutors is still in the works.
On Monday Lt. Gov. David Paterson will take Spitzer’s place. This will mark New York’s first black and legally blind governor. New York Governor Elliot Spitzer is “involved” in a prostitution ring. Details are still sketchy.
Gov. Eliot Spitzer has informed his most senior administration officials that he had been involved in a prostitution ring, an administration official said this morning. Mr. Spitzer, who was huddled with his top aides inside his Fifth Avenue apartment early this afternoon, had hours earlier abruptly canceled his scheduled public events for the day. He had scheduled an announcement for 2:15 this afternoon after inquiries from the Times. But his appearance was delayed by at least 45 minutes.
Mr. Spitzer, a first-term Democrat who pledged to bring ethics reform and end the often seamy ways of Albany, is married with three children.
Just last week, federal prosecutors arrested four people in connection with an expensive prostitution operation. Administration officials would not say that this was the ring with which the governor had become involved. But a person with knowledge of the governor’s role said that the person believes the governor is one of the men identified as clients in court papers.
The governor’s travel records show that he was in Washington in mid-February. One of the clients described in court papers arranged to meet with a prostitute who was part of the ring, the Emperors Club VIP on the night of Feb. 13. Mr. Spitzer appeared on a CNBC television show at 7 a.m. the next morning. Later in the morning, he testified before a Congressional committee.
Aside from a general sense that chief executive officers ought to obey the laws they’re charged with enforcing and that married men ought to be faithful to their wives, I really don’t care much about this story. The interesting angle, really, is the hypocrisy bit:
Spitzer has built his political legacy on rooting out corruption, including several headline-making battles with Wall Street while serving as attorney general. He stormed into the governor’s office in 2006 with a historic share of the vote, vowing to continue his no-nonsense approach to fixing one of the nation’s worst governments.
Time magazine had named him “Crusader of the Year” when he was attorney general and the tabloids proclaimed him “Eliot Ness.”
But his stint as governor has been marred by several problems, including an unpopular plan to grant driver’s licenses to illegal immigrants and a plot by his aides to smear Spitzer’s main Republican nemesis.
Spitzer had been expected to testify to the state Public Integrity Commission he had created to answer for his role in the scandal, in which his aides are accused of misusing state police to compile travel records to embarrass Senate Republican leader Joseph Bruno.
Having only cursory knowledge of the two scandals, the misuse of the powers of office to harass a political opponent strikes me as more problematic than patronizing prostitutes.

UPDATE:Fox’s report on Spitzer’s resignation, “Sources: Spitzer to Resign Following Reports of ‘Involvement’ With Prostitution Ring, Faces Indictment,” is the most cited. Thus far, however, no confirmation. His presser was oblique:

Vicki Iseman has come into the news because of an alleged sex scandal with John McCain, the presumptive Republican candidate for president. Both McCain and Iseman vehemently deny any romantic involvement.

Wikipedia informs us that she was born September 1, 1967 and “is a Washington, D.C. lobbyist with the lobbying firm of Alcalde & Fay.
A website of her alma matter, Indiana University of Pennsylvania, where she graduated with a degree in elementary education in 1990, documents her fast rise in the world of lobbying.
Iseman, the site notes, secured a job at the firm Alcalde and Fay only a few months after graduation, mostly for secretarial work. Soon thereafter, however, she began moving up the employment ranks. And eight years after she started, she became the youngest partner at Alcalde. Her clients included PAXtv, Religious Voices in Broadcasting, Telemundo, the Hispanic Broadcasting Corporation, and Computer Sciences Corporation.
From her page on the firm’s website — which was pulled from the web shortly after the New York Times story broke — there is this: “[Iseman] has consulted for clients who are interested in government contracting opportunities. She has assisted corporations through the authorization and appropriation process. An active fundraiser, she has organized and participated in many political fundraising events.”
So, an education major gets hired as a secretary and winds up a partner in a PR firm in just 8 years? That’s odd.
McCain — who we understand is a chick and not the Senator in question — asks the slightly ungrammatical question, “Vicki Iseman is John McCain’s Affair?” and says the story is,
A typical hit piece by the liberal New York Times which will pull out all of the stops for Obama to win an election in November. They name no sources except for the usual suspects, the universal “inside sources” and do not even state they had an affair. They only suggest it because they do not actually have any evidence.
