Elisabeth Hasselbeck Sued For Having No Original Thoughts

Elisabeth Hasselbeck ripped off a woman by plagiarizing her disease material — so claims Susan Hassett, who fired off a letter to “The View” host just before suing her.

TMZ obtained the letter — in which Susan claims she sent Elisabeth a book called “Living with Celiac Disease” back in April of ‘08. Thirteen months later, Susan says Hasselbeck published the same book with a new title: “The G Free Diet-A Gluten Free Survival Guide.”

Susan compares chapters and lines. Here are some highlights.

Susan’s Book Chapter 1: What is Celiac Disease?
Hasselbeck Chapter 2: What is Celiac Disease?

Susan’s tips: “Shop in the outer isles of the supermarket.”
Hasselbeck’s tips: “Food in the outer isles of the supermarket.”

And the comparisons go on and on.

Hasselbeck recently discovered she’s long suffered from celiac disease, an autoimmune disorder linked to gluten proteins found in wheat, barley and rye. The disease can cause, among other things, chronic diarrhea and fatigue.

Melissa Etheridge And Elisabeth Hasselbeck Debate Prop 8

Melissa Etheridge appeared on The View this morning and naturally got into discussing Prop 8, she ended up calling Elisabeth Hasselbeck out on she had discussed gay marriage on a previous show.

Melissa straight up asked Elisabeth if she was for gay marriage or same sex marriage, to which Elisabeth said it is a legal issue and not a personal issue.

Before things could get really heated, Sherri Shepherd had to interupt and get Melissa to sing a Christmas song from her new album.

Elisabeth Hasselbeck Responds to Obama Win

I’m sure I wasn’t the only one that was curious to see Elisabeth Hasselbeck’s reaction to Barack Obama being elected president. Of course, The View ladies took the opportunity of asking.

Hasselbeck said, “We’ve had such incredible discussions here,” and then addressed Barack Obama’s acceptance speech with her daughter Grace.

When Grace asked who lost the election, Elisabeth said she told her, “No one lost today - and God knows I fought hard on the other side. Today is a victory for this country. The first black president. The first black first lady — family. I haven’t felt this good…

“Are you saying I was right all along?” Joy probed.

A few laughs later, she admitted that she will support her president — because that is the right thing for us to do.

Elisabeth Hasselbeck Receiving Death Threats

Elisabeth Hasselbeck gets more death threats than anyone else on “The View,” Whoopi Goldberg revealed Monday night at Cooper Union.

Whoopi - part of a panel discussion on Art and Educational Justice hosted by the Stella Adler Studio with Rosie Perez, Phylicia Rashad and Anna Deavere Smith - said of her conservative co-host:

“Politically we could not be more opposite, but I respect her tremendously. Truth is, we could not have a dialogue without Elizabeth. It’s not that we have to agree, the important thing is that we have the conversation.”

The Post’s Sandra Guzman also reports Perez confessed she used to enjoy smoking pot and watching “American Idol,” which she found “hilarious.”

The View Fights Over Palin - Again

Sarah Palin sure is shaking things up isn’t she? The ladies from The View got into yet another fight over Palin, well it was mainly the women against Elisabeth Hasselbeck.

Barbara Walters jumped in (for a change) and said to Elizabeth “Every single day you never ever say, maybe there’s another point, so this is your chance. Tell us now why you think that Sarah Palin would make a very good President.”

This didn’t go down well with Elizabeth who said “Yes, I do!” she then went on to say, “well, since I’ve been studying for this pop quiz forever! I….tell me why Barack Obama is qualified. Give me three tangible things he has done.”

Of course before it could get even more heated they went to a commercial. So who do you think is in the right - Hasselbeck or the other ladies?

Damien Hirst buys Paris Hilton porn protrait

Damien Hirst, a British artist has purchased a portrait of Paris Hilton made up from images taken out of pornographic magazines.

The collage - entitled Paris, 2008 - was the work of Jonathan Yeo, the son of former Conservative minister Tim.

Yeo’s use of adult magazines began in 2004 after the White House canceled a commission to paint President George Bush.

In other news Hilton appeared on The View yesterday and had an awkward moment with Joy Behar when she was asked if she can vote.

“You’re not going to be able to vote, are you?” Joy asked Paris pointedly. “I have a friend who was in the slammer, he can’t vote. Weren’t you in jail?”

“I can vote,” Paris responded, laughing comfortably.

The other ladies of “The View” tried to ease the situation, explaining to Joy that losing the right to vote only applied to people convicted of a felony.

“What was your thing? Yours was a misdemeanor or something?” Behar asked.

“No, it was driving with a suspended license,” Paris answered.

“You can still vote with that? ” Joy quipped.

Putting an end to the awkwardness, Whoopi chimed in saying, “Yeah, you’re still an American, yeah.”

I find it funny that when the topic turns away from Paris she doesn’t say anything or offer her opinion.

Barbara Walters: ‘White Folk Have Your Back’

Did you see John McCain on ABC’s The View this morning? Well the presidential candidate said he would like the Constitution interpreted the way it was originally written to be.

Whoopi Goldberg didn’t really like this statement and said, “should I be worried about being a slave, about being returned to slavery because certain things happened in the Constitution that you had to change?”

Barbara Walters chimed in and said to Sheri Shepherd and Whoopi that “us white folk will take care of you.”

Elisabeth Hasselbeck Slams Michelle Obama

Elisabeth Hasselbeck talked smack about Michelle Obama, hinting that she must have something to hide.

Hasselbeck compared Cindy McCain, John McCain’s wife who wore a $300,000 outfit at the Republican National Convention to Michelle Obama, Barack Obama’s wife who grew up in the South Side of Chicago:

“Cindy came into our hair and make-up room fresh as can be. And unlike another wife of a political candidate, who shall remain nameless, she didn’t come with a list of topics that we weren’t allowed to touch. Nope. That’s because she has nothing to hide.”

Eva Mendes Banned Nipple Commercial

The commercial wasn’t exactly for nipples, but Calvin Klein knew that the new ad for his fragrance had to push the envelope. American televisions will not be showing the ad that shows Eva Mendes naked and rolling around on a bed talking about love and madness.

The only thing stopping the ad for Secret Obsession from being aired in the US is a brief glimpse of Mendes’ nipple. The shot is brief and barely noticeable but censors won’t have it. The director for the ad was astonished at the snub.

“You must be kidding me. This country really needs a new president — this country is so messed up,” said Baron. “It’s such a joke and it’s quite upsetting, frankly, how hypocritical this country has become. It’s OK for children to see people killed by guns? Spreading a little love right now would be a good idea.

“She is being a little sexy, but they are not provocative,” added Baron. “They are really well done. The spot is really beautiful — I really can’t believe this is happening.…I don’t know what else to say.”

Eh, what’s a little nipple? I rather my kids see that than “The View.” Besides I think Eva Mendes naked is about as appealing as an ordinary commercial. The ad with the E-trades kid distracts you seconds after seeing her nipple for the 50th time anyway.

Rosie O’Donnell Stages Her Return to TV

In a year filled with comebacks, is it time for Rosie O’Donnell to stage her return to TV?

“Multiple sources” have told Entertainment Weekly that the moody media mogul might soon return to television with her own weekly NBC primetime variety show.

The news comes just as the Peacock is said to be courting exiting Tonight Show host Jay Leno for a similar gig.

It’s possible O’Donnell’s series would be a fallback in case Leno defects to ABC after his late-night reign ends next year (as many expect he will).

NBC was unavailable for comment.

I wonder what Elisabeth will think of Rosie’s grand return?

Sherri Shepherd: More Abortions Than She’d Like to Count

The View’s Sherri Shepherd revealed that her life was once so rough she didn’t care if she died. She’s also said that she’s had more abortions than she’d like to count.

“My sister was heavy into drugs, and we would have to go and get her from crack houses,” Shepherd, 41, says.

At the time, the stand-up comic — then a Jehovah’s Witness – was “in a very physically abusive relationship,” she said. “I was sleeping with a lot of guys and had more abortions than I would like to count.”

She said her self-esteem became so low, “I felt if someone killed me, it wouldn’t even make a difference.”

But after converting to Christianity, she said, “God showed me that it would make a difference.”

(Shepherd has also said she relied on her faith to get through her split with husband Jeff Tarpley, father of their 3-year-old son. During their seven-year marriage, Tarpley cheated on her and got another woman pregnant.)

“Oh, sometimes I say, ‘Lord, Juanita Bynum or Joyce Meyer would be so good at this table. They could lay hands on Barbara Walters and get her saved,’” she said.

“I ask the Lord, ‘Why am I here?’” Shepherd added. “I have to trust God when He says, ‘Because I said so.’”

Jesse Jackson Wants to ‘Cut Barack Obama’s Nuts Off’

Last night, Bill O’Reilly showed footage of Rev. Jesse Jackson saying disparaging words about Barack Obama during a break. Ok, he threatened to cut his nuts off.

Jackson claims he thought the microphones were turned off. Likely excuse. The reporter beside him totally knew the mics were on, you can see it on his face.

Jesse has already apologized and Obama has already accepted his apology.

The View discusses:

I think Obama let him off too easy — and it’s obvious Rev. Jackson is envious of Obama’s campaign success — he wasn’t so fortunate.

Michelle Obama Does ‘The View’ - Video

Michelle Obama appears to be seeking to soften her image with an appearance on ‘The View’ and an interview in US magazine.

If Democrat Barack Obama is elected president, his wife would be the first African-American first lady. At 44, she would also be one of the youngest since Jackie Kennedy.

Some conservatives see her as a weak link in Obama’s armor. They have attacked the Illinois senator through his Princeton- and Harvard Law-educated wife, painting her as an angry black woman.

A spokeswoman denied there was any makeover attempt, but appearing on ABC’s ‘The View’ on Wednesday, Obama said she thinks people will accept her more as they grow to know her and her family more.

You can see the rest of her appearance on The View below:

Joan Rivers Curses on Live TV

Joan Rivers issued an apology, of sorts, for dropping the F-bomb and a scatological reference in the same breath on a live British TV show.

“Yes, I swore, and I’m so f—— sorry.”

Well dang Joan… that makes it all f—— better, thanks for that.

quote4_thumbnail3.jpgThe comedian, who has publicly admitted to being in her 70s, said in a statement – though the statement actually spelled out the same offending word Rivers used on the chat show Loose Women (a kind of British version of The View).

Rivers went code blue when she was asked about the challenges of interviewing celebrities on the red carpet. She said, “Get ready to bleep this,” before using the offending words while talking about Russell Crowe.

Only the show didn’t bleep it… it was LIVE!

“We do apologize for that,” the host said into the camera. “Joan didn’t realize that we were absolutely live.”

Rivers, who was promoting her live show Joan Rivers: A Work in Progress By a Life in Progress, which will open the Edinburgh International Festival in August, was then asked to leave the set during a commercial break.

“No one told me the TV show Loose Women was a reality show and that I would be voted off,” said she later in her statement. “It’s funny: offstage, I hardly ever use profanity. My favorite four-letter word is ’shop.”

Nobody ever said this woman had any class… whatsoever. I wonder if they have strict FCC-type laws in Britain?
