The 10 Best Movie Kisses

Total Film have come up with a list of the best 50 movie kisses ever, I’ve put the top 10 together for you to read because let’s face who cares about the rest of any list apart from the top 10? If you do then head on over to their website.

10. Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 (2011)

The Kissers: Ron Weasley (Rupert Grint) and Hermione Granger (Emma Watson).

The Kiss: Y’know, that kiss. The one they’ve been building up to for a decade.

Passion Or Romance: The cute smiles after the kiss give it away – these kids are in love. Bless.

09. Titanic (1997)

The Kissers: Jack Dawson (Leonardo DiCaprio) and Rose DeWitt Brubaker (Kate Winslet).

The Kiss: On top of the world. Or, technically, at the front of a big boat.

Passion Or Romance: Seeing that they don’t start shagging there and then on the deck, we have to assume it’s the real deal.

08. Lady And The Tramp (1955)

The Kissers: A classy cocker spaniel (Lady) and a mongrel (Tramp).

The Kiss: Al fresco becomes al frisky as the dogs’ dinner sees them sharing spaghetti.

Passion Or Romance: C’mon, Tramp loves Lady enough to give her his last meatball. What do you think?

07. Brokeback Mountain (2005)

The Kissers: Ennis del Mar (Heath Ledger) and Jack Twist (Jake Gyllenhaal).

The Kiss: One-time lovers Ennis and Jack meet up and, despite both being married – in fact, Ennis’ missus is watching – the reunited pair lock faces.

Passion Or Romance: It started as passion, but by now it’s a full-blown love story.

06. Casablanca (1942)

The Kissers: Rick Blaine (Humphrey Bogart) and Ilsa Lund (Ingrid Bergman).

The Kiss: Reunited in Morocco because Ilsa needs Rick’s help saving her new husband from the Nazis, these old flames realise they still share sparks.

Passion Or Romance: The film’s theme song reckons “a kiss is just a kiss,” but this is proof of one of the screen’s most heartfelt romances.

05. Spider-Man (2002)

The Kissers: ‘Spiderman’ aka Peter Parker (Tobey Maguire) and Mary Jane Watson (Kirsten Dunst).

The Kiss: Mary Jane thanks Spidey for rescuing her with a kiss, even though he’s hanging upside-down.

Passion Or Romance: Superhero fetish. It’s probably the mask that’s turning her on.

04. The Notebook (2004)

The Kissers: Allie Hamilton (Rachel McAdams) and Noah Calhoun (Ryan Gosling).

The Kiss: A reunion in the rain after years apart. Allie thinks Noah never wrote to her, but when she finds out he wrote a love letter every day, it’s lip-locking time.

Passion Or Romance: “It still isn’t over” – not when the romance is this strong.

03. Back To The Future (1985)

The Kissers: George McFly (Crispin Glover) and Lorraine Baines (Lea Thompson).

The Kiss: History in the (re)making. Not only is Marty McFly’s future saved, but George will no longer be a doormat for Biff Tannen.

Passion Or Romance: Pure enchantment, and not just under the sea.

02. The Empire Strikes Back (1980)

The Kissers: Scoundrel Han Solo (Harrison Ford) and Princess Leia Organa (Carrie Fisher).

The Kiss: Having fallen in love during their escape from the Empire, Leia isn’t about to let the small matter of Han being frozen in carbonite prevent their first kiss.

Passion Or Romance: “I love you.” “I know.” The most romantic kiss in sci-fi, although the follow-up in Return of The Jedi – as Leia reunites with blind Han – nearly matches it.

01. From Here To Eternity (1953)

The Kissers: Milton Warden (Burt Lancaster) and Karen Holmes (Deborah Kerr).

The Kiss: The iconic ‘snogging in the surf’ scene, memorably parodied by Airplane! and most likely copied by everyone who’s ever had some seaside lovin’.

Passion Or Romance: Karen’s married, so her clinch with Milton is pure passion. No wonder they need to cool down in those Pacific waves.

Did your favorite movie kiss make the cut? Mine would be the Sarah Michelle Geller and Selma Blair kiss from Cruel Intentions, which only made it to 29 on the list.

Leonardo DiCaprio, Ben Affleck, Tobey Maguire, Named in Illegal Gambling Ring

Leonardo DiCaprio, Tobey Maguire, Ben Affleck and Matt Damon (the list goes on) are all among the Hollywood A-listers who are named for their involvement in an underground, illegal gambling ring.

The group reportedly used secret passwords and unmarked rooms to keep their extra-curricular activities on the down low — playing behind closed doors manned with armed guards in bullet proof vests.

Members would often meet for games at the Beverly Hills hotel or the Viper Room on Sunset Boulevard — details learned after the FBI investigation into CEO of Ruderman Capital Partners, Brad Ruderman, whose loss of $25 million of investor cash led officials to the Tinseltown 12 plus gamblers. Ruderman, is currently serving time in a Texas jail until 2018.

The multi-million dollar ring reportedly landed Maguire — who is under a bit more water than the rest of his pals — $300,000 over the span of several games. Only problem was that his winnings came at the expense of hedge fund manager, Ruderman, who dipped his hand in his investors’ cookie jar to buy-in (buy-ins generally started at $100,000) and allegedly created a Ponzi scheme to pay off his debts.

Ruderman’s clients are now going after those that won what was supposed to be their investment capital. From just trying to blow off some steam to being the only man left standing after the fog cleared from Ruderman’s smoking gun accounting, Maguire could be looking at some major losses if he is forced to give up his dirty money winnings.

Although DiCaprio, Affleck and Damon were involved in the poker ring, they are not yet the target of any of these civil suits. According to a fellow player, “Matt never won” and “Leo is a tight ass. When he lost $50,000 the look in his eyes was obvious, he was crazy.”

Tens of millions of dollars changed hands.

Absolutely unbelievable!

The Top Candidates To Play Spider-Man

Ever since it was announced that Tobey Maguire wouldn’t be in the Spider-Man 4 movie there has been a ton of rumors surrounding the project, some saying it won’t go ahead and some just casting rumors. But here is 5 actors that have already met with director Marc Webb and are serious candidates to become the new Peter Parker.

The Top Candidates To Play Spider-Man 01

Jamie Bell

The 24-year-old English actor, repped by WME and Artists Independent Management, who made his film debut playing the title character in “Billy Elliot,” has been doing the proper British actor thing in period movies such as “Nicholas Nickleby” and “Jane Eyre” (he’s also appeared in Hollywood movies such as Peter Jackson’s “King Kong” and Ed Zwick’s “Defiance”). More important, he’s already stepped into the comics world by portraying Tintin in Jackson and Steven Spielberg’s “The Adventures of Tintin” movie, which won’t hit screens until December 2011.

The Top Candidates To Play Spider-Man 02

Alden Ehrenreich

The Los Angeles-born 20-year-old has a juicy backstory, having been “discovered” by Spielberg, who saw a comedy video starring Ehrenreich at a bat mitzvah of his daughter’s friend. A couple of TV appearances followed, but the actor’s next big leap came when he was cast by Francis Ford Coppola in 2009’s “Tetro.” He is repped by WME.

The Top Candidates To Play Spider-Man 03

Frank Dillane

The 19-year-old Brit’s main credit is last year’s “Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince,” where he played a young Tom Riddle. Is a minor role in a “Potter” film a good springboard for a mega-franchise? It worked for Robert Pattinson.

The Top Candidates To Play Spider-Man 04

Andrew Garfield

The L.A.-born actor had a short stint on a BBC TV series called “Sugar Rush” but gained notices for playing a young reporter in a gritty British TV movie trilogy titled “Red Riding.” The 27-year-old appeared in “The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus” and will be seen in David Fincher’s movie about Facebook, “The Social Network.” He is repped by CAA and the Collective.

The Top Candidates To Play Spider-Man 05

Josh Hutcherson

The youngest actor of the bunch — he turns 18 this year — is also the one with the most experience. The past six years alone have seen the Kentucky-born kid rack up credits with key roles in Jon Favreau’s “Zathura,” drama “Bridge to Terabithia” and the upcoming “Red Dawn” remake. He appears in the Sundance hit “The Kids Are All Right,” which insider buzz suggests could be an Oscar contender, and starred with Brendan Fraser in “Journey to the Center of the Earth.” Hutcherson, repped by ICM and Beddingfield, just signed on to star in the “Journey” sequel, and that movie could prove a fly in the ointment if the actor’s schedule collides with “Spider-Man.” (Though you can bet every effort would be made to make it work.)

Apparently Marc Webb wants to cast a younger actor to take on the role because he wants to go back to tell the story all over again of when Peter Parker was in high school and when his uncle died, the movie is supposed to be in production by the end of the year. Zac Efron has been rumored to take on the role for months but a spokesperson for Columbia Pictures said they would not comment on casting. Who would you like to play Spider-Man?

Hollywood’s Thriftiest Stars

Fame and fortune doesn’t necessarily always turn celebrities into financial fools. While frugality may not be the biggest Hollywood trend, there are a few celebrities who can pinch a penny with the best of us — and we’re not just talking about getting snapped by the paparazzi stocking up on party munchies at Costco every once in a while.

Eva Longoria

The Frugal Facts: Her wedding in 2007 reportedly cost $1.5 million, but this ‘Desperate Housewives’ star still scored a lot of freebies to give to her 200 guests: Van Cleef & Arpel 18K yellow gold charm bracelets, and L’Oreal, Cole Haan, and Bebe products were a few. She says the frugal gene runs in her family, explaining that her dad would take her and her three siblings camping with no food. “He would tell us that we could live off the land. I can skin a deer, a pig, a snake … ”

Tyra Banks

The Frugal Facts: Despite a fortune estimated at $75 million, this 34-year-old is an avowed penny pincher. “I am frugal,” she said in a June 1 ‘New York Times Magazine’ profile. “I’ve always been this way. When I was young, my mom would give me my allowance, and I’d peel off a little each week and have some to spare. ” Banks’s culinary tastes runs toward Cheesecake Factory, and is known to stock up on hotel soap.

Sarah Jessica Parker

The Frugal Facts: Contrary to Parker’s character in ‘Sex and the City,’ the 43-year-old isn’t such a slave to fashion. In fact, she used to get sick from buyer’s remorse and return items the next day. Explaining that her family went through a time when they were on welfare, Parker says of her son, “Just because mommy and daddy are rich and famous, that doesn’t mean he should ride the gravy train through life … I want [James] to be normal.”

Mick Jagger

The Frugal Facts: Jagger reportedly pulled out of buying a painting by bandmate Ron Wood because the $140,000 price tag “scared him off.” His ex-wife, model Jerry Hall, complained, “He always wanted me to pay for everything to do with the house and the children. He’s generous with gifts and presents, but yeah, he’s pretty tight with the day-to-day stuff.” He explains that he was taught as a child to be frugal: “We don’t like to throw computers away as soon as they don’t work — apart from out of the window in frustration. We like cars to be repaired instead of junked.”

Paul McCartney

The Frugal Facts: Paul McCartney is worth more than $1 billion, but he’s not likely to advertise it. At a birthday party for his ex-wife, he made the guests pay for their drinks. Even his fashion designer daughter, Stella, reportedly called him “a tight bastard” for sending her and her three siblings to local state schools rather than posh private ones. Nor is he resting on his investments.

Tobey Maguire

The Frugal Facts: Even after his price jumped up to $26 million a picture thanks to three ‘Spider Man’ mega-hits, Maguire is usually snapped wearing lived-in t-shirts and jeans. “You know those Lotto winners, who win big and blow through all that money? That would never happen to me,” says Maguire, who credits his poverty-stricken childhood as the impetus for his quest for financial security. “I just never wanted to put myself in the position where my spending was so huge that I had to keep making movie after movie.”

Halle Berry

The Frugal Facts: Halle Berry can make a fashion designer millions simply by wearing a gown on a red carpet. After all, she’s one of the world’s most photographed women. Still, this fashion icon would sooner hit the sales racks than fly to Paris for a couture fitting. Berry, whose mom struggled to raise her and her older sister after their father walked out when she was four, is an unabashed saver. “I am pretty frugal,” say the twice-divorced Oscar winner and new mom. “I save a lot because I’m always worried about when this trip is going to stop. So I’m saving for that day so I can have a life that is secure and comfortable.”

Jay Leno

The Frugal Facts: Despite his huge fortune, the only flashy thing about Leno is his collection of cars and motorcycles. “When I was a kid … I had one job which the money went in the bank and the other job that I lived off of,” he said in 2004. “I still do that to this day. I have yet to touch a dime of my Tonight Show salary. I live off the money I make as a comedian … Maybe it comes from having parents who grew up during the Depression.” Yet, While Conan O’Brien offered to cover the salaries of pink-slipped staffers during the writers’ strike, Leno only did so after being shamed by all the bad press.

Sarah Michelle Gellar

The Frugal Facts: Growing up, money was tight at Sarah Michelle Gellar’s house, especially when her dad walked out she was just six. Now after soap opera and movie fame, the New York native remains careful about her money. “I take my reusable bag to Whole Foods so I get a discount,” Sarah told Self magazine in 2007. “I go to Bloomingdale’s on double reward days. And I always print my dry cleaning coupons before I go. The main thing I want to do is make sure that I can take care of myself and my mother,” she said in 2000.

Leonardo DiCaprio

The Frugal Facts: Other than shelling out $2.5 million for an island near Belize in 2005, the environmental activist tends to live on the cheap. “I don’t pay lavish expenses,” he has said. “I don’t fly private jets. I still have only one car, and that’s a Toyota Prius. I don’t spend money on a lot. Money is very important to me because it allows me the freedom to choose what I want to do as an actor and most importantly because I want to accumulate enough so that one day I can do something really great and beneficial for other people, for the environment or for children.”
